Seems like everyone else is complaining about their orange chicken being dry since management changed but I usually order their other entree and haven't had any issues. I've ordered Sesame Chicken (similar to orange chicken, cooked same way with different sauce) and it was ok, not dry in my opinion. Portions are huge for the price you pay and I'm not complaining. I love bumping into Ida when she's scheduled to be there because she really makes my day when I see her, she's personable and friendly. She always asks how I'm doing and makes ending a long day from work pleasant. Cheap good food and great service from Ida, count me in. One of my go-to made to order dish is their Beef Chow Fun (gon chow ngau ho). You're able to order that spicy! This is a great fast chinese food place. The service is prompt and professional-while achieving the tricky balance of a casual welcome feel. We ordered the Won Ton soup, packed with good stuff, and Egg Foo Yung. Food was served hot, the delicious gravy and like three egg fu young patties made this an all-time favorite for me. I rarely can find egg fu yung anywhere. Locals seemed comfortable there. Portions felt generous. This place stood out in many ways compared to Magic wok, who's soup felt sparing in comparison, and less personal, Shi-Foo doesn't skimp on recipe flavor or ingredients and good service. Not very impressed after seeing such high ratings. I had the typical combination meal rather than wait for a fresh entree. That proved to be a big mistake. I was here in the noon hour and the food was warm but it was not very good. The portions are enormous for the price. For ten bucks I had two days worth of food but I was not thrilled with quality. Fried rice and noodles were fine but the quality of chin in the kung pao was not great. The sesame chicken was all batter. I loved the broccoli in the beef dish but the meat quality was not good. I always take the small one item bowl!! And choose a different item each time! But my mainstays are always the cream cheese wonton and the eggfoo young!!!! How does this place Have four stars? The wontons were soggy and left any proper flavoring. The eggrolls, oh my gosh, those are trash. Honey walnut shrimp, where do I begin? There was so much disgusting batter, between a family of three who loves shrimp. We didn't even finish the meal. The noodles are tasteless. What I did enjoy was the side fried shrimp with their sauce, that was delicious. We have been coming here for over 10 years. It changed management since the beginning but the food is fresh and pretty much tastes the same since the beginning. They have also been peanut free since the beginning which is one of the main reasons we started coming here because of a severe peanut allergy in the family. We usually get the following: Orange chicken- really good and not a hint of spice ( for those with family members that are sensitive to spice Wonton soup- the broth is absolutely delicious and what we crave when we are sick. The soup is fresh tasting and packed with fresh vegetables. Green bean beef- we will call and ask if it is available on the hot bar. If it's not, they will often cook a batch or two and put it out. Garlic shrimp: it's not on the hot bar but everyone in my family loves it. Shrimp are perfectly cooked and there are a lot of shrimp. They don't skimp. All the rest of the dishes are usually pretty fresh. The girl who is usually the the Monday through Friday employee does it all. She takes in person and phone orders and is very quick with the orders and good at memorizing what you want. Most people order take out.
