I've been coming to this place for years and it never disappoints!! Today was especially awesome because Tanner was our server (literally the funniest & best server ever). It was the perfect Sunday evening dinner. Great vibes sitting outside. We got the Brussel sprouts, nachos, k bowl, and warm cauliflower salad. The nachos will always be my favorite 10/10. Every time I've taken my non vegan friends here they always leave so happy & fulfilled. Every one should enjoy some good vegan food!!!
This restaurant is amazing!!!! The ambiance, location, service, AND FOOOOOD is all absolutely phenomenal. An order of the tofu salad, purple taquitos, and jackfruit nachos was the perfect amount to split between two people and be happily full.
Some people have a preconceived distaste for vegan/vegetarian food... admittedly myself included (at times). Shame one me. The food here is amazing. The flavors of my Warm Cauliflower Salad - phenomenal. Roasted cauliflower has yet to fail me anywhere and my salad was so fresh and SAVORY. It was also huge so I took leftovers. Surprisingly still a delicious salad the next day. Tofu, arugula, lots of nuts and chili oil, pickled peppers, roasted cauliflower... yum. Grilled Mushroom Taco - I had higher expectations for but it was OK. My friends got the Taquitos... amazing as well. I will be ordering that next time! All the dishes are surprisingly very filling. I've heard about this place often and now I understand why. Portions are generous and the ambiance of every business at the Lab is charming. They servers gave us cookies and scones on the house as we were dining here the end of the night which was so sweet! 10/10.
Love Love this place!! How in the world is this a vegan only restaurant! Ha! Not only is the food absolutely delish but the staff is always so friendly! I need them to open a location on the East coast :D Y'all already know, I'll be back! LOL
Been on a vegan-food binge lately and decided to give this place a try with my coworker. First of all, love the simple and artistic layout of the outdoor seating, we had a lovely view of the sunset. We started off with the fries and roasted brusselsprouts, a great suggestion from Tanner, our server. I ordered a Passionfruit Tea and added their agave sweetener, I loved how delicate the agave was and the tea was super refreshing. In terms of main dish I went with the So Cal Crunchwrap, and it was so light, but delicious! My coworker ended up ordering the Tomato Soup with Grilled Cheese and it was also delightful with how gentle the tomato flavor was with the sandwiches. Tanner made such a great impression (and jokes too!) for my first time here, I'm def returning when I get the chance.
I don't know the difference between vegan, or gluten but I don't care if their food doesn't have that stuff because it tastes great,Service was great, , drinks were great and place was clean. Recommend making reservations just because it's a smaller place but has indoor and outdoor seating . Outdoor is nice to sit
I love Seabird's and am glad it's still around. Grilled Cheese & Tomato soup is an OG favorite of mine. I remember coming maybe 10 or so years ago, newly vegan, trying the grilled cheese- and having to stop and ask a staff member if Seabird's was fully vegan (I was worried the grilled cheese had dairy cheese because it was so mouthwateringly delicious)- it was and still is fully vegan. 10/10 recommend the grilled cheese!!! I got an email about The Porque Maria being a weekend special this weekend only so had to try it! Sadly I was disappointed. The arugula overpowered the rest of the features I was looking forward to. I wouldn't get it again. My fiance got the BBQ Burger and enjoyed it, a was pleasantly surprised by the battered red onions inside! I had a bite too, yum! We opted for outside seating since we were hoping for sun, but the patio was mostly shady at the time of day we went. Our server kindly turned the heater on for us and even let us move closer to it. I hope to keep coming back to Seabird's for a really long time!
Parking lot is kinda poorly designed but the area is pretty cool. Dog friendly outdoor dining! I tried each of the 3 tacos: Beer battered Avo taco, adobo taco and the grilled mushroom taco. The Avo taco is definitely the best!! It's so good and the flavors are perfect. The adobo taco is second and the grilled mushroom was ok. My husband ordered the burrito from the brunch menu and he thought it was pretty good for being vegan. He's not a vegan fan and he didn't mind it. The burrito is heavy on the seasoning though. We also got the lake show mocktail. Pretty but NOT worth the $10. Spend it on food. Would recommend to try!
I loved this place. There's something for everyone. The purple potato rolled taquitos were perfectly crispy. The butternut enchiladas were super good. The Mac n cheese was good (not my personal fave) but my daughter who is a Mac n cheese connoisseur loved it. Tanner was our server and he was awesome -poetic and comedic!
SERVICE - located in the lab anti mall in Costa Mesa - parking available in lot though can be hard to find during busier hours - indoor and outdoor seating available - we walked in on a weekend evening though it was filled so might be a good idea to make a reservation - food served relatively quickly - ambiance good for a semi casual meal MENU - global inspired small bites and entrees - all vegan/vegetarian - average price FOOD - jackfruit nachos (8/10): corn chips topped with black beans, adobo style jackfruit, chipotle sour cream, almond cotija, and salsa. This was listed under the big plates section of the menu and the portion size did not disappoint. It could be shared between a few people as a larger starter or eaten as an entree for one. The flavors worked well together as many of them had a Mexican influence. I requested to add the walnut chorizo which was nice to make the dish slightly heartier. The one thing that i wish they had added was a dollop of guacamole. WOULD I GO BACK? Yes! The menu selection is diverse for both dinner and brunch.
If all vegan food was this good, it would be really easy to be vegan! Unfortunately the Long Beach location closed, so when we have the chance and happen to be in the area we try and make a stop here. The food is all really good and they have beautiful presentation. I recommend all the food we got (Beets Me Burger, Zippy Fries, Purple Taquitos, and the Butternut Squash Enchiladas) and while not necessarily cheap, I still feel like their prices are very reasonable. They present their food so well that it looks a lot more expensive than it actually is. The staff is personable and they really make coming here an enjoyable experience. Seabirds is located in a super cool and unique shopping center with other fun little shops to check out. There's a pretty big parking lot, but it still gets busy but we've never had trouble finding a space.
Seabirds has still got it. Hands down one of my favorite vegan restaurants -- and honestly, one of my favorite restaurants in all of Orange County. Beyond the standouts I mentioned in my last review, you absolutely can't go wrong with the Caesar salad (add the grilled tofu), the adobo jackfruit taco, or the SoCal Crunch Wrap. Ermagherd. I genuinely drool just thinking about this place. And did I mention the tomato soup and grilled cheese? Or the avocado-based chocolate mousse? Because I should have. Both are next-level. At this point, consider me officially addicted.
On a Tuesday afternoon at 6pm, my friend and I walked right in. The outside was bright without being ostentatiously sunny, and perfectly weathered - not too hot, not too cold. There were folks indoors, presumably trying to escape the rays of sun that we too were trying to avoid by sitting on the same side of the bench outside. Our waiter was delightful and helpful and efficient. Nook had sadly closed at 6pm so the first order of business was some caffeine. The matcha strawberry with oat milk did not disappoint. We also loved the purple potato taquito, the mushroom taco, socal crunch wrap, and the chaffle. I was impressed with the burst of flavor in each bite. I would get all of these options again, but seeing how delicious these were I am intrigued by the rest of the menu. When my friend suggested Seabirds, I was not enthused by the vegan label but I figured I was due for some veggies in my diet. Boy was I glad we gave this restaurant a try. I'll be back!

Went in for the cauliflower salad and the purple taquitos and honestly both blew me away, the cauliflower had great texture with just the right kick of heat and those taquitos live up to the hype, crispy and packed with flavor, but what really got me was the service, we ended up sitting on the patio for a full two hours and not once did anyone rush us or hover with the check, it felt like they genuinely wanted us to relax and enjoy ourselves instead of turning the table, which is honestly so rare to find anymore. Oh yeah, I also had a bit of the crunch wrap. Just do it and thank me later. This place proves plant-based food doesn't have to compromise on taste at all, and I'm already thinking about my next visit, definitely coming back for the beer-battered avocado tacos and jackfruit nachos since those are apparently customer favorites, plus I have my eye on the Beets Me Burger and that famous churro waffle with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce for dessert. Highly recommend, especially if you can snag a spot on that patio. read more

Amazing friendly staff and definitely recommend booking a reservation beforehand. It took awhile for them to get my order but the server gave the taco on the house because it took so long. Adobo taco was good; liked the variety in textures of crunch and flavor and you can't even tell the jackfruit is a fruit. There is only 1 restroom though. read more

Excellent, extensive (clearly marked gf, nf, sf) menu, attentive & friendly service, great inside/outdoor ambience amidst cool shops... need I say more?! Our lunch on a Saturday afternoon: 1. Beer battered avocado taco $5 - tasty! 2. Brussel sprouts shareable $11 - good but a tad too oily for us 3. Warm cauliflower salad $18.25 (with tofu, shaved Brussels sprouts, dates, walnuts, croutons, tahini, etc) - super tasty! 4. Kids bowl w/ org brown rice, org black beans & avocado - simple yet perfect for what our preschooler needed! We were eyeing the dessert menu (the GF chocolate mousse looked heavenly) as well as the Brunch menu. We will surely be back! read more

This is one of those places where when you look at the menu you can't choose because everything looks so good... and it is. We shared fried pickles and hash browns. My husband isn't plant based but enjoyed the breakfast burrito. I had the biscuit breakfast sandwich. Besides the food servers were very nice but not necessarily attentive. This is why I noted 4/5 read more

Thank you Seabirds for blowing my mind and taste buds! I live in Las Vegas and wanted to find the best place for plant based food close to Huntington Beach. This place was so worth the 20 minute drive from the hotel. The ambiance is adorable with inside and patio dining. The service from staff was above and beyond. Chefs kiss to how phenomenal the food was. I could cry happy tears for how delicious everything was. Please open on in Las Vegas! We enjoyed the 1. LAKE SHOW MOCKTAIL - spiced pineapple shrub, lemon, sparkling ginger kefir soda, butterfly tea; 2. WARM CAULIFLOWER SALAD shaved brussels sprouts, grilled tofu, arugula, hazelnuts, chiles, crushed garlic croutons, fried dates, tahini - I'm gluten free so I got it without the croutons; 3. PURPLE TAQUITOS purple potatoes, chipotle sour cream, fermented curtido, almond cotija, cilantro 4. JACKFRUIT NACHOS adobo style shredded jackfruit, organic black beans, chipotle sour cream, almond cotija, red onion, cilantro, ancho salsa, organic corn tortilla chips. The salad was perfect! The taquitos delicious! The nachos, omg the best jackfruit I have ever had!!!! Seabirds is perfect; everything and everyone was amazing from recommendations and decor. The food was fresh and was 100/10 so good! Even my partner who is not plant based loved it and said the taquitos were the best! He was also impressed with how outstanding the jackfruit was in the nachos! A must try!!! read more

i love the anti-mall and seabirds is always a treat to stop by for food. i ordered a strawberry matcha and grilled cheese and tomato soup for myself and had a lovely experience sitting by myself. i got a whole bench outside for myself! next to the speaker, which had some bops the strawberry matcha was yummy, i liked having the strawberry as a treat. there was a lot of ice so next time i'd ask for less ice. the grilled cheese had a nice firmness to the bread and the pesto/cashew cheese filling had a richness that complemented the tanginess of the tomato soup well. the portion was perfect for me too the parking for anti-mall isn't bad at all if you go during a weekday. the service at seabirds is always fast and i love the different daily options that are available! read more
| A Plant-Based Oasis If you're searching for the ultimate vegan dining experience, look no further than SEABIRDS located at the infamous hipster mini mall / dating app profile pic photography studio: The Lab in Costa Mexico. From the moment I walked in, I was blown away by the warm vegan ambiance, friendly semi vegan staff, and tantalizing non carnivorous aromas wafting through the air. I've been coming here since day 1 and let's be honest; the MVP here are the fried avocado tacos. I could eat like 200 of those bad boys. Other highlights would include: The shroom taco, PURPLE taquitos, and butternut squash enchiladas. Try it, don't be scared. I promise it won't cause you to metamorphose into a raging woke liberal. You will be okay. Will not affect your testosterone levels or reputation or your money back! Anyways, 5 god damn stars for sure!!!! Even their deserts / sweets ain't bad. Cheers read more

This place is sooo good!! Came here on Saturday afternoon and had to wait about 30 mins to seat 5 people, but it was well worth the wait. I'm not vegetarian but I wanted to try this spot with my friends, and I didn't miss eating meat at all while I was here lol. We shared the Jackfruit Nachos and added guac and jalapeños on top, which really made the dish shine even more. It was soo delicious, I would come back just for this! We also got the Butternut Squash Enchiladas, Chilaquiles Roja, and tacos and really enjoyed the flavors of these as well. Highly recommend bringing anyone here, whether they're vegetarian or not. There's something here for everyone to enjoy! read more

Yossi greeted us with a smile and recommended the homemade pesto rigatoni with almond cheese and toasted gremolata (I chose to eliminate the seitan sausage crumble) -- absolute perfection! I normally order the purple potato taquitos, but stepped out of my comfort zone and so glad I did!!! Then came the homemade vanilla soda (don't forget to stir it) -- a sweet, nostalgic sensory delight! I rarely have room for dessert, but we tried the famous churro waffle with vanilla ice cream, and the chocolate avocado mousse. Both disappeared faster than we'd like to admit. I live over 40 miles away, but would crawl back here on my hands and knees for another meal at SeaBirds. Outstanding food and service, and proof that exceptional vegan restaurants still exist -- thank goodness! 20 out of 10 stars!!! read more

Bro the service was amazing. Everything came out fast, I have an allergy and they assured me that it was safe (it was) and on top of that I forgot my food inside and one of them twins (beard with glasses, fire glasses btws) ran out with my food. Bro that was fire. I'm vegan and I had never been here before and that was superb service. read more

Had an amazing brunch here this morning! The service was so friendly and I loved dining on their gorgeous outdoor patio. The mall it's in has fun and vibrant scenery that makes dining here a true joy. Both entrees we got were superb. The lemon blueberry pancakes had the most delectable pillowy fluffy texture and the contrast of the bitter lemon to the sweetness of the blueberries was out of this world. The lemon whipped cream really took it over the top. I also really enjoyed the chipotle florentine and the "egg" was so realistic. The sauce was so flavorful and perfectly seasoned. Parking was a little challenging in the mall parking lot but we got lucky when people started leaving. read more

Came here for brunch with some friends. My fiancé and I shared the biscuit bomb and chilaquiles roja. We thought the biscuit bomb was ok and could have used some sauce because if was a little dry. We enjoyed the chilaquiles roja, the flavor was great. We also ordered the sparkling pear mocktail which was refreshing. The restaurant is located in the LAB Anti-Mall. There is indoor and outdoor seating options. The noise level wasn't too loud. The restaurant is dog friendly. One of our friends brought their dogs so we sat outside. One of the waitstaff even brought out a water bowl for the dogs so they were able to stay cool and hydrated. I would definitely recommend Seabirds Kitchen to any of my friends that are looking for a vegan or vegetarian meal in Orange County. read more

I do like this place but do not LOVE. The setting of the place is beautiful! Outside sitting has lots of beautiful greenery but the food was mmmm...like I could definitely make this at home and make it 10x better. That being said, for a birthday celebration it wasn't bad, but the food was not a wow factor for me personally. Margarita didn't have much alcohol either read more

We went on a Sunday and they had brunch 'til 3pm. On our way, I added us to the wait list and it worked out great! It gets pretty busy, so I highly recommend getting on the wait list. We waited about 5 minutes to get seated after we arrived. Our waiter took a while to get our order because it was crazy busy, but the food was worth the wait. We ordered the Beets Burger with fries and the Brunch Tacos. Blueberry-mint Lemonade and the Iced Vanilla Matcha Latte to drink. The food took over 30 minutes to come out but we were patient. Everything was delicious! I've been here before but it was my boyfriend's first time. We'll definitely be coming back. It's a really cute restaurant, fast paced, and hip. read more

Having always intrigued me every time I passed by, I FINALLY decided to drop in for a quick lunch! Seabirds Kitchen is known for whipping up some killer vegan eats! While I'm not vegan myself, I absolutely love my veggies and enjoy plant-based meals on the regular. Feeling a bit extra, I tag teamed an appetizer and a large plate. The Burnt Brussel Sprouts were to die for! Seasoned with fried garlic, cayenne, lime, and dijon mustard, I could not stop munching on these. The entree was a little less stellar in my book. I went with the Butternut Enchiladas and something about the sauce just didn't sit right with me. It was wayyy too sweet. Just not for me. Would LOVE to come back and give their other items a try though! read more

I have an interesting story about this restaurant. I bought a Groupon years ago but never did use it. Also saw your food truck at a gas station one day when we were both getting gas. I finally came in today. Ordered a BBQ burger and a blueberry mint lemonade. Burger came with a choice of fries or a salad and I had the fries. Everything was enjoyable. Arrived at around 2:00 pm on a Saturday and it was really busy. Very glad a vegan restaurant is getting a lot of business. Gluten-free items are available. Dogs are also allowed on the outside patio. A friend is interested in trying Seabirds and I would like to try other items as well so will definitely be back at some point. Located at The Lab across the street from The Camp. Finding a parking space was a bit challenging. read more
