Porque Maria
Holly K.

I love Seabird's and am glad it's still around. Grilled Cheese & Tomato soup is an OG favorite of mine. I remember coming maybe 10 or so years ago, newly vegan, trying the grilled cheese- and having to stop and ask a staff member if Seabird's was fully vegan (I was worried the grilled cheese had dairy cheese because it was so mouthwateringly delicious)- it was and still is fully vegan. 10/10 recommend the grilled cheese!!! I got an email about The Porque Maria being a weekend special this weekend only so had to try it! Sadly I was disappointed. The arugula overpowered the rest of the features I was looking forward to. I wouldn't get it again. My fiance got the BBQ Burger and enjoyed it, a was pleasantly surprised by the battered red onions inside! I had a bite too, yum! We opted for outside seating since we were hoping for sun, but the patio was mostly shady at the time of day we went. Our server kindly turned the heater on for us and even let us move closer to it. I hope to keep coming back to Seabird's for a really long time!

Breakfast Burrito and tacos (one of each)
Nina W.

Parking lot is kinda poorly designed but the area is pretty cool. Dog friendly outdoor dining! I tried each of the 3 tacos: Beer battered Avo taco, adobo taco and the grilled mushroom taco. The Avo taco is definitely the best!! It's so good and the flavors are perfect. The adobo taco is second and the grilled mushroom was ok. My husband ordered the burrito from the brunch menu and he thought it was pretty good for being vegan. He's not a vegan fan and he didn't mind it. The burrito is heavy on the seasoning though. We also got the lake show mocktail. Pretty but NOT worth the $10. Spend it on food. Would recommend to try!

SERVICE - located in the lab anti mall in Costa Mesa - parking available in lot though can be hard to find during busier hours - indoor and outdoor seating available - we walked in on a weekend evening though it was filled so might be a good idea to make a reservation - food served relatively quickly - ambiance good for a semi casual meal MENU - global inspired small bites and entrees - all vegan/vegetarian - average price FOOD - jackfruit nachos (8/10): corn chips topped with black beans, adobo style jackfruit, chipotle sour cream, almond cotija, and salsa. This was listed under the big plates section of the menu and the portion size did not disappoint. It could be shared between a few people as a larger starter or eaten as an entree for one. The flavors worked well together as many of them had a Mexican influence. I requested to add the walnut chorizo which was nice to make the dish slightly heartier. The one thing that i wish they had added was a dollop of guacamole. WOULD I GO BACK? Yes! The menu selection is diverse for both dinner and brunch.

Vegan paradise!!! Their bowls and salads are definitely the best. My family got K-bowl and cauliflower bowl and they loved it. My partner and I got the Sunday brunch waffle and beet burger...I'd skip the waffle. It didn't have the right texture that a waffle is supposed to have. We also got the burnt brussels sprouts ..while the flavor was on point, it wasn't worth it in terms of portions.

Purple taquitos, tomato soup, pure Joy. Devoured the grilled cheese too quickly to document (oops).,

Seabirds has still got it. Hands down one of my favorite vegan restaurants -- and honestly, one of my favorite restaurants in all of Orange County. Beyond the standouts I mentioned in my last review, you absolutely can't go wrong with the Caesar salad (add the grilled tofu), the adobo jackfruit taco, or the SoCal Crunch Wrap. Ermagherd. I genuinely drool just thinking about this place. And did I mention the tomato soup and grilled cheese? Or the avocado-based chocolate mousse? Because I should have. Both are next-level. At this point, consider me officially addicted.

My new favorite vegan restaurant. Absolutely loved the dishes I had so far. People are friendly, and the place is comfy and cute. Loved the fact the dishes here have their own unique flavors and style. Wha I enjoyed so far - soups, grilled cheese, tacos, enchiladas, burger..and mostly the desserts

Purple Taquitos Grilled Mushroom Taco
Jerline H.

On a Tuesday afternoon at 6pm, my friend and I walked right in. The outside was bright without being ostentatiously sunny, and perfectly weathered - not too hot, not too cold. There were folks indoors, presumably trying to escape the rays of sun that we too were trying to avoid by sitting on the same side of the bench outside. Our waiter was delightful and helpful and efficient. Nook had sadly closed at 6pm so the first order of business was some caffeine. The matcha strawberry with oat milk did not disappoint. We also loved the purple potato taquito, the mushroom taco, socal crunch wrap, and the chaffle. I was impressed with the burst of flavor in each bite. I would get all of these options again, but seeing how delicious these were I am intrigued by the rest of the menu. When my friend suggested Seabirds, I was not enthused by the vegan label but I figured I was due for some veggies in my diet. Boy was I glad we gave this restaurant a try. I'll be back!

Beets Me Burger

If all vegan food was this good, it would be really easy to be vegan! Unfortunately the Long Beach location closed, so when we have the chance and happen to be in the area we try and make a stop here. The food is all really good and they have beautiful presentation. I recommend all the food we got (Beets Me Burger, Zippy Fries, Purple Taquitos, and the Butternut Squash Enchiladas) and while not necessarily cheap, I still feel like their prices are very reasonable. They present their food so well that it looks a lot more expensive than it actually is. The staff is personable and they really make coming here an enjoyable experience. Seabirds is located in a super cool and unique shopping center with other fun little shops to check out. There's a pretty big parking lot, but it still gets busy but we've never had trouble finding a space.

Strawberry margarita

Not a vegan but this food is so good I'll give up meat for a day. The burger is so good you'd be convinced it was meat if that's your usual preference. The enchiladas are amazing. Margarita is a nice flavorful option. Zippy fries when available are worth trying. In a decent size plaza with a decent sized parking lot. Not overly expensive and high quality food

BBQ Burger with everything

This area is absolutely gorgeous! There's an outdoor and indoor seating area (outdoor is significantly better and feels more private honestly.) If you get cold easily, you're in luck as they have outdoor heaters that are turned on upon request. The service here is always great. We're never bombarded with questions here. Every time I go here, it's always a nice calm experience. The hostess was kind and our server was helpful, to the point, and friendly. The food left a bit more to be desired unfortunately. For a BBQ burger, I barely tasted the sauce. That ketchup for the fries though? Sweet mother of mercy that's probably some of the best ketchup I've had. Combining it with the burger certainly helped but the patty needed a tad more seasoning. Overall, cute place with good food! The parking here is nonexistent so be prepared for that frustration. I enjoyed what I received and left with a good feeling :) definitely will be coming back.

Quesa Birria
Stephanie S.

I have previously been to Seabirds for weekend brunch, so this was my first time eating from the dinner menu! We were sat quickly and the vibe inside was great. I was able to have the Quesa Birria taco and it was AMAZING. 10/10 no notes. As someone who grew up with a Mexican mom who makes great food, I typically don't eat Mexican food out a lot. But let me tell you these quesa birria tacos are IT!!! The crunch of the taco with the consommé was perfect. The salsa it came with was perfectly spicy as well. We also had the mac and cheese 2.0 and the Beets me burger. Both were solid options and plated beautifully. The chocolate chip cookie was also great with the right amount of sweetness. Overall, it was a great experience and I will 100% be back for the quesa birria tacos!!

Lemon Blueberry Pancakes
Richelle T.

Three of us quickly sat without a reservation for Sunday brunch. Love going out with a few friends because we can all taste more plates. I had the chilaquiles AND lemon blueberry pancakes. Unbelievable that its all vegan here because I couldn't tell the difference. Seabirds is part of the Anti-Mall so stuff your face and wander into all of the cute lil shops after!

Grilled Cheese & Tomato Soup
Anne-Marie N.

Yum. Plant based food can be kitschy and very hit or miss. This was so flavorful and tasty. The items we tried all allowed the ingredients to stand out. I've been to the Lab a bunch, but somehow missed this little gem. The patio is adorable and there are heaters for the rare cold day. Our waitress was cute and super helpful. Answered all of our wacky questions and guided us to some great choices. Highly recommend.

The Pork Belly with Black Garlic and the Seared Duck Breast were both perfectly executed. Crunchy, golden skin. Juicy meat. Rich, flavorful sauces paired with comforting, silky purées. Balanced. The kind of plates that make us slow down to savor each mouthful... and then shamelessly scrape up every last bite. We were so smitten after those first two dishes that we threw all caution and control to the wind. I asked staff to surprise us with one of the dishes recommended earlier. Out came the Grilled Octopus Al Pastor. Nice char, tender bite, and a tangy sauce. For dessert: the Baklava Cheesecake. Lightly spritzed with aromatic rose water, ultra sweet, and unapologetically indulgent. Beautifully crafted and shareable, though you may not want to. Beyond the food, the ambience really shines. Intimate, classy, and whimsical, with a charming playlist. Ideal for date nights or special celebrations. Service was outstanding. Warm, attentive, and passionate. An incredible experience from start to finish. I couldn't stop yapping about the duck and pork belly since our first dinner here. So we came back the following weekend! We ordered our favorites again - the Pork Belly with Black Garlic and the Seared Duck Breast. To our surprise, the meats felt rather chewy and tough. She knows I love sweets and do a lot of baking myself, however, I HAVE NEVER TASTED A CUPCAKE THIS DELICIOUS........EVER!! Spicy miso ramen: 9/10 Actually one of the better ramens I've had lately. The broth is creamier and isn't overpowering with chicken/beef flavor. The chashu was nice and tender as well. I really liked that their noodles were al dente and not too soft Deluxe mazemen: 8/10 Taking my first bite, I was instantly greeted with an explosion of umami. There's a LOT of flavor packed in this bowl and the noodles used are actually a bit thicker which is right up my alley. They also give you a small serving of rice at the end for you to mix into the bottom which was a nice addition Kurobota sausage: 7.5/10 We've recently been on a kurobota craze. The batter on the chicken was good and once you bite it, the meat is juicy and tender. Doesn't really need dipping since it's so good. As for the Mazemen, we ordered the Deluxe and Veggie one, both is a 5/5. Very flavorful and it tastes just like ramen, but without the soup. The presentation of the dish looks like a work of art. Very picture pretty. I ate that shit up within ten minutes. After that they give you a scoop of rice so you can mix it up with the leftover sauce. Lots of umami for sure. Definitely will come back again to try the other flavors. People, trust me and come through!
