Heard about this place so had to try it for myself. The food was great and service provided by Mr Hazrat was phenomenal. Will definitely be back next time were in the city.

Delicious Afghani food! Definitely a shareable meal that can be enjoyed with family and friends. The Qabeli Palaw, lamb cooked with special seasoned rice, with raisins and chopped carrots, was wonderful! The lamb was very tender! The Mantu is another Afghani dish to go for. Steamed dumplings stuffed with ground beef, onions, and spices served with yogurt sauce. Very authentic! The meal was filling we didn't have room for dessert. Highly recommend Se7enbuds for an authentic Afghani food! Our server was very nice, engaging, and attentive.

Afghan cuisine neighborhood restaurant (very similar to Persian cuisine) that is clean with good service and affordable prices. Pretty big menu with many selection of kebabs, rice dishes and other standard Afghan / Persian food. I've had the combo of kobideh kabob $21.00 (1 skewer beef & 1 skewer chicken) with rice, tomato and bread butter. Also I got an order of fries to go $3.50 As a matter of taste, it was good but also kinda plain in term of spices and seasonings. But taking into consideration, overall it was still a good value. Just don't set your expectation too high.

I found this restaurant on Yelp's hot new restaurants feed! It's a great location along the Polk St bike lane at Polk and California--I picked up takeout lunch as I was biking there and there's a beautiful bike lane right outside the restaurant. I ordered the mantu--it was well-seasoned and filling, even though it was deceptively a small portion at first! I loved the bread it came with and also the vegetables. Service was wonderful and warm and friendly, and the interior was light, airy, and had lots of art and flowers at each table. The tea is great too! I'll be back to try more of their delicious Persian food, like I was eyeing their gyros.

Wow! This place is a find! This restaurant serves Afghan food, which is not a cuisine you normally get to try. We had two dishes: Qabeli Palaw and Muntu. The Qabeli Palaw is a huge piece of lamb on a bone (incredibly tender lamb) covered with seasoned rice, raisins and carrots. The lamb alone was amazing: fall of the bone tender, the type you find at truly top restaurants. It was delicious! The portion size was huge: it would have been enough to satisfy my wife and I for dinner. Our second dish, Muntu, was steamed dumplings stuffed with ground beef, onions and spices with a special yogurt sauce. This dish, too, had a incredible robust flavor. Again, it was a large portion. A side of freshly baked Afghan bread was served with both dishes along with a spicy green sauce in a separate small bowl. The two dishes were so big we took leftovers home and had them for breakfast the following day. There is complimentary tea available to have with your meal, which we enjoyed. The ambiance of this very clean, well lit restaurant is pleasant and relaxed. The owner, who served us, was wonderfully friendly. And lastly, the cost of the food was really, really reasonable: $20 for Qabeli Palaw and $19 for the Muntu. I don't live in San Francisco but if I did I would be going back on a regular basis.

cute little restaurant with great food and great service at great (sf) price! me and my two friends got dinner and caught up here, shared 2 kobideh plates + hummus + shirazi salad. great bites of freshness and flavor thru the shirazi salad, rice, and bites of pepper, onion, and tomato in between.

Super tasty Iranian restaurant. The decor is really cute and inviting. The workers are super nice as well. We got fries, hummus, doogh, rice with barberries, chicken, lamb, and beef koobideh, doogh, and saffron ice cream. The kebabs were delicious and juicy. And the rice was so fluffy and addicting. Fries were also crisp. Saffron ice cream was refreshing. It was a lot to share between 2 people, but I really didn't want to leave leftovers because of how good it all was. I would gladly come back to support this business. The beef koobideh was probably the best tasting beef koobideh I've had. Reminded me of vietnamese beef sausages wrapped in betel leaves.

Absolutely fantastic restaurant. Highly recommended!!! The food is so good and authentic. Can't beat the service as well. The ash was great, the bolani just right and the kabobs are the best. Can't wait to come back!

I came in this past Saturday (in the rain and recovering from surgery) because I just needed to be at my favorite restaurant. The moment we walked in, they greeted us warmly and still remembered us, even though we hadn't been in for about three years. That kind of care means everything. The food is unmatched. The lamb is incredible. The potato appetizer with the meat sauce is our all-time favorite. The shrimp on the combination skewers are huge and full of flavor. The warm bread and perfectly cooked rice make every meal feel comforting and special. The service is amazing, the family who owns it is so kind, and the whole place has a welcoming, homey vibe. There is no Afghan food around here that compares. This will always be our favorite spot for special occasions. If you haven't been here yet, you're missing out.

Perfect char, juicy meat, and great texture on the patty. I also really enjoyed the potato bolani. Crispy bread and creamy potato. Huge portion. What's not to love! Had free chutney at the table. The slow cooked lamb in the pallow was fall-off-the bone. However, not too much meat. Mantu was a skip for me. Meat inside was delicious and sauces and wrapper worked, but not special compared to other dishes, especially since lentils were a little undercooked. Doogh as a drink isn't up my alley, but paired with the heavy meat dishes well.

They were a little disorganized, but the decor and vibes were very homey. Their portions are fairly large, and overall the food was pretty decent, although not all of the dishes were my cup of tea I will say. This was my first time having Afghanan cuisine, so take what I say here in my review with a grain of salt. I rounded up because the food was pretty tasty and filling, but wasn't super impressed by the overall experience. So, to me, flavor and quality of the food is more important than the overall experience with the staff and vibes of the space. I would have given a 3.5/5 if I could. Food: 4/5 A friend mentioned that this is his family's go to spot for some of the most authentic Afghan food, so this is what I am basing the rest of this review on. We ordered Triple Kabob Murgh, Teka and Chaplee Kabob, Quabili Pallow, Mantu, Aushak, Sabzi Challow, Kado Borani, and Doogh. The kabob meats were all seasoned differently and were very tender, but everything else had a very similar palate to each other. Everything was fairly tasty, and the lamb wasn't too gamey, which I appreciated. If you try the Doogh yogurt drink, know that it is sour and an acquired taste, my friends said it wasn't good until they ate some food along side it. Staff/Space: 3.5/5 The staff wasn't the most friendly nor did they really come to check on us. The guy just took the order and brought our order and that was the only real interactions we had with the staff. The space in general was super homey and very much set for cozy family vibes. There is a decent amount of space inside and outside to accommodate for various party sizes. There is only street parking, which is not super convenient.

I enjoyed dipping my meats in this green sauce that was provided on our table--it added a nice spicy kick to my overall meal. The rice was seasoned well, meat was cooked to a perfect medium and wasn't overcooked, chicken wasn't dry, shrimp was great too, and the bread was nice and soft. As for the appetizer, I'm not sure what everything was, but everything on that plate was so good. I'm not a fan of lamb, but the items on the chef's platter were good and didn't have that lamb aroma and taste--I wouldn't even think it was lamb lol. But the one that stood out to me the most was the eggplant which was prepared well and I enjoyed the meat sauce that was drenched on top. The rice is cooked well. I have also tried several of their appetizers, and my favorites are the samosas and borani banjan (eggplant), though the bolani are also great, and the serving size is enough to feed a small army. The samosas are a nice departure from traditional samosas I am accustomed to, especially at India restaurants. The ones here are large, flatter (almost like an empanada), and not the slightest bit greasy. You can tell they make these fresh. The banjan have a nice acidity and a tasty cream/tomato sauce they are tossed within. The bolani can be prepared with either leeks or potatoes (or ask for a combo!) and are served with a cream dipping sauce. I feel that everything here is a good value, with the triple kebab coming in at $25, and the appetizers all coming in at $10-$15. You will not leave hungry.
