Our compliments on the excellent work by the technician who visited us to install the shower door (apologies - I did not write down his name). He did an overall fantastic job, start to finish, earning a 100/100. He is competent, professional, and courteous. He answered all our questions patiently and stayed focused on the job without rushing it. Notably, the final cleanup was so thorough! Earlier, the person who visited us for the estimation and measurement was equally good- very knowledgeable! The office personnel who handle the scheduling are very responsive and understanding of our (customers') changing needs and priorities. My first thoughts were to have a barn door installed to enclose the entire area. But as I played around with various room design apps, I realized a barn door would close off a lot of space. Once I created a general image via image editing apps, I sent out several requests for quotes on Yelp. Many of the requests wanted me to call them so they could come give me a quote. None of them gave me much to go on unless I would agree to an appointment. From the beginning, Matt was different. He was personable and asked additional questions to be able to answer my questions the best he could without me having to commit to a future appointment. He responded immediately and offered a few options for me regarding next steps. He was very knowledgeable and did not have a pushy approach. For these reasons, I decided to move forward with Vision Remodelers. After I had Matt come by to give me a more accurate quote other than him just going by the image I created, I hired Matt to begin this project. Matt and his crew were exceptional while they completed my remodel. They were professional, polite, & timely. His workers even took the time to have my spoiled, skittish dog warm up to them! I sent him pictures of the jobs we wanted him to do, which he acknowledged, saying that it looked like a full day's worth of work. I reminded him the afternoon before, as requested, and he then told me he had another job in the morning. He then texted me the morning of and asked if he could bring a helper, doubling the hourly rate but getting more done more quickly. I approved (stupidly). He then showed up and asked me if they were going to be working inside or outside (all of the jobs I had texted him about and sent pictures for were obviously inside). I walked him through it, and he told me he could do all of the work. Fast forward to when the work was completed (poorly). My wife called him to complain about the way his guys left things, and he started trying to pit my wife and I against each other. He changed his story several times--despite the fact that most of our communication was via text, so I had records of it--and tried to paint me as the bad guy to my wife. To his credit, he wound up coming out to try to fix some of the problems himself. However, he wasn't able to fix much of it the day he came, and he offered to get us a discounted quote on fixing the rest of it. We declined. He explained on this last day (after the fact) that it is difficult to exactly match paint colors (for covering patches he did on the walls) and that he wasn't able to tack down the area of carpet we had asked him to on the first day because he isn't a carpet-layer. Had he explained these two things upfront--and had he not engaged in all of the emotionally manipulative b.s.--this review may have been different. As it is, I wouldn't recommend hiring him for any more-involved work. If you need a cabinet fixed or bathroom hardware mounted, he's probably a fine candidate. For anything more complicated, my experience leads me to recommend going in a different direction. Photos are of "completed" work.

One Star - Would Give Zero If Possible…read more Review for: The Basement Men (The Creative Approach Builders & Remodelers, Inc.) We were referred to this company and initially spoke with Steve. During early phone conversations, we were told the job was usually around $1,000. We scheduled an appointment for 10:00am. Steve called after 10:00am to confirm the appointment, but did not actually arrive until close to noon. When he later came to see the space in person, the price discussed was $1,500, which we agreed to. We paid a $750 deposit via Zelle to schedule the work and signed the contract. We had agreed that we would purchase the exhaust fan ourselves. After we purchased it, we were then told there would be an additional $200 charge to install the fan we had already bought. We were also separately asked to send an additional $75 via Zelle to complete HOA paperwork and provide insurance information. No work was performed other than the site visit. Before anything even started, and after multiple additional costs were introduced beyond what was originally discussed, we decided to cancel. At that point, we were told the deposit would not be refunded. The end result was paying $750, having no work completed, and being asked for more money than what we initially agreed to. Only after this situation did we take a closer look at the full contract, including the fine print on the reverse side. Based on our reading, there are several provisions that future customers may want to review very carefully before signing. These include language related to: - Broad limitations on responsibility - Little or no warranty protection - Attorney fees and collection costs being shifted to the customer - High late-payment penalties - Significant cancellation penalties - Permit-related responsibility being placed on the homeowner - The ability to remove materials if payment disputes arise In our opinion, when no work has been performed, it's reasonable to expect at least a partial refund of a deposit, possibly minus a small scheduling or consultation fee. That was not our experience. This review is not written lightly. We understand that home improvement projects can be complex and that misunderstandings can happen. However, from our perspective, the combination of shifting prices, additional fees introduced after the deposit, strict contract terms, and refusal to refund any portion of the deposit resulted in a very negative experience. We would not use this company again. Anyone considering them should read every page of the contract carefully, confirm all potential costs upfront, and make sure the terms align with their comfort level before proceeding.

These projects were supposed to be completed within a maximum of one month. My spouse repeatedly asked the owner of this company to provide the final version of the contract for signature, but Mohammad kept delaying and avoiding this request with various excuses. According to the agreement, we were supposed to pay 30% of the contract amount at the start of the projects, and the remaining amount upon their completion. Unfortunately, due to an unfounded and mistaken trust in Mohammad, my spouse ended up paying him the full amount within a month -- even though, after seven months, the projects are still not finished and Mohammad is no longer answering our calls. He even failed to pay his workers, and we had to provide fruit, sweets, food, and lunch daily to Mohammad's workers for two months. Although my spouse has hired a skilled legal attorney and this matter is being pursued through the legal system, the stress and mental toll he has endured during this time is irreparable. Therefore, if you are considering a renovation or construction project in your home (painting, roofing, remodeling, finishing basement, retaining wall, etc.) , I strongly advise you not to consider this company or its owner. The most dishonest, incompetent, and disgraceful qualities a person can have are embodied in the character of this company's owner.

They were very sloppy got paint speckle's on my entire new floor and baseboards. Paint on my stairs leading to the outside and even on my driveway. Left the room with dust everywhere and did not move my furniture back as he said they do. Did not clean or prime the walls before painting them. I had a dust web on one wall corner and it was still there when they said they were finished painting. You can see roller marks on my ceiling and missed panting marks. Every appointment we had with him he either was hours late or did not show up. No phone calls and no shows. We have cameras in our house and they were standing on my $10,000 pool table and my speakers to paint. When I confronted both Haroon and the supervisor Gino all they said was "well was there any damage". After several attempts and missed appointments Haroon agreed to come back. Of course he was 8 hours late and all he said after I pointed out the horrible painting job is that he want to get past all of this and would repaint. 2 more appointments set up with him and no show and no calls. After 2 phones calls of calling the company Times Construction I left a message that I will be going to small claims court about this the supervisor Gino called and assured me that he will get this corrected or refund my money. Same scenario no show for appointments although he did call one time and said that the person that was to come got kick out of the place that she/he lived in and they could not make it. Wanted to set up another appointment on a day that my husband was having surgery. I explained I would need to call back to give them the time. Well I called gave the Ok to come and again no show no call. On top of all of this we have a TV on the wall and Haroon said that they are painting around it because no one can see behind the TV. What a joke. My husband took the TV off of the wall and told them to be careful as it was leaning against our couch. Haroon knocks the TV over and tells my sister " oh well they need a new TV anyways". They also only painted half of the room because they said that paneling cannot be painted. When we researched this and confronted him about it he said too much work. Our contract was for him to paint the paneling. I am now going to take them to small claims court. Beware!
