I recently bought a mid century modern home built in 1955 with a massive fireplace with it's original clay liner. We were getting a smoke smell in the house that wasn't coming out of the fireplace opening. Rob was extremally knowledgeable and easy to work with. We had Rob come over to do a chimney sweep, and full 14 point inspection of our fireplace. We appreciated how he took time to wear foot guard to protect our floor and drape tarps to protect our carpet. He cleaned up with a shop vac before he'll wrap the drapes back up. I was really impressed with the fact that he was able to explain very clearly what was going on with our fireplace and did not give us the heavy sales pitch. We understood the cracks in our fireplace would wind up being a fire hazard and our gas line opening was not properly sealed. Full disclosure: our fireplaces over 25 years old. So we had him come out again with his team to replace three of the four panels. His team was kind, respectful, and courteous. We smelled gas coming out of our fireplace last night and called the gas company who confirmed we had a leak (scary!!), and they needed to turn off the gas. We texted Rob, and he showed up first thing this morning to figure out what was going on. He was very careful not to damage the stone around the fireplace and quickly identified and fixed the problem - an old damaged valve that had shifted, so the gas wasn't shutting off as it should.
