Over the years the base started to chip & deteriorate. I was suppose to have the original contractor come out & refinish the coat every year or every other year, unfortunately this company went out of business. I saw an ad for a different type of flooring w/a polyaspartic base coat which is suppose to be more durable than epoxy. After an estimate & deposit was made w/Comer & Cross came out started grinding the existing coat off. After an hour of grinding my stair they told me they couldn't do the job because a corner of the concrete was chipped and they don't do concrete work. WTF? After I went through this fiasco w/Comer & Cross. My buddy told me about JL Concrete Design in Addison. I called them and spoke to Julia who was very helpful & friendly. She sent Joe out to take a look at the stair the next day. After inspecting the stair he gave me a quote, scheduled a repair. Joe came out as planned & finished the stair in less than1 day.

Owner is now backtracking his original statements trying to avoid any responsibility. For $4,000 this is shoddy workmanship. Insanely overpriced for a resurfacing job (less than an inch of concrete) that didn't even last half a year. I DO NOT recommend this company.

This is a long overdue review which I hate to leave but don't know what else to do…read more We had our both our driveway and garage floor completely replaced in May 2021. Not a cheap job by any means. All looked nice at first but within 2 years, parts of both started showing signs of cracking and spalling. My husband called them back out to see what could be done and were told they couldn't do anything except replace the whole thing again? The explanation is the weather in Chicago is the reason. By the third year, the area where the garage floor meets the concrete driveway and parts of the driveway are crumbling. I didn't expect any of this within the first few years.. and I don't see other newer driveways in my neighborhood with this issue. Something was wrong with what they used or how they mixed their product. Now, water seeps into the garage through the cracks at winter time. It's extremely upsetting and each year that goes by, I get more upset. More and more crumbling. I wish they had better options for us or could do something without charging us for a full redo. Please make this right.

They broke up and removed a slouched walkway and two patio slabs, poured new concrete at proper grade, and now all the water around our house moves away from the house. They did such a great job that not 2 months later I called them back to do the same for our garage's apron that was flooding the garage and our backyard. They demolished the steps, poured new ones along with a new walkway, and got a perfect shape. They also replaced my house's unusually deep limestone door sill. * They redid my railings, extending them to match the slightly higher layout and also repainting them so i didn't have to get all-new ones.
