He came to our home and made a preliminary template of the very irregular horizontal surface in order to give a quote. After we accepted the quote, he came a second time to make a very precise pattern of the necessary cut-outs for the surface. In a little over a week, he returned for the third time with the fabricated glass to make sure the fit was exact and perfect. He came with tools to expertly fine tune the glass so that it could easily slide out if cleaning is necessary in the future. We are delighted with the result and have the highest respect for how PERFECT this glass surface is. The bay window is a focal point of our living room and - even with an active dog - the surface is beautifully protected.

I had some…read moreleft over glass tiles & some wood flooring so I designed a small table reusing some of the materials to create a small table for a very small space where 2 people can sit and eat a meal. I needed a very specific size piece of glass about 11 5/16" X 22 5/6" X 3/8" as an overlay on the glass tile inset. In addition the rectangular inset for the glass was a little off square so the piece had to be custom sized. I brought the table top in so the rectangular glass could be ground to fit in the existing opening. I went to a glass store near my house in Chicago. Oak brook Glass is located in an industrial park area. They usually don't deal direct with the public, but I was able to get information from the store in Chicago that I had dealt with in the past. The retail store wanted $64.00 for this piece of glass. I was able to get the same piece from Oak Brook Glass for $24.00. We also have a dining room table with a large piece of glass protecting the table. There was a portion of the table that wasn't covered by the glass as we put a leaf in that's approximately 15" X 41"'s. Once again I called Oak Brook glass and they were able to cut me a piece for $25.00 a fraction of what it would cost retail. The staff at Oak Brook Glass was very helpful & I would definitely use them again if the need arises.

I chose a day for installation when Kris was going to be out of town on vacation so he let me decide if we wait to wait until he got back or if we wanted him to send his right hand man Daniel. We went with Daniel who showed up right on time on a cold morning. I thought removing the old badly cracked panes of glass would be very difficult. I was right but they got the old ones out quickly and the new ones in so fast and they finished about 30 minutes before their estimate.
