He took the window back to his shop to install a new piece of glass, putting in the special gas between the panes that helps with insulation & energy efficiency. He put a piece of plywood in the frame back in the window so it was secure. Just took a couple of days and my window is back. Very happy with the repair.

John was very responsive to my inquiries and extremely knowledgeable about glass repair. When I got to his Villa Park studio he was able to take a look and start repairing it basically straight away, and the whole thing probably took around ten minutes! John's fees were also very reasonable and at the low end of the range he initially estimated. We were able to put the repaired cover back up and it's as if no damage ever happened! Huge thank you to John for his speedy and thoughtful work. If I ever need any other glass repaired (or engraved or frosted - there were lots of beautiful examples of his other work in his studio), I definitely know where to go!

Alex is the consummate professional! He provided a custom polished tempered glass for the surface…read moreof our hardwood bay window. I previously thought that maybe this unusual shape with angles and cut--outs would not be possible. He assured us it was possible. Craftsmanship like this is, indeed, rare. He came to our home and made a preliminary template of the very irregular horizontal surface in order to give a quote. After we accepted the quote, he came a second time to make a very precise pattern of the necessary cut-outs for the surface. In a little over a week, he returned for the third time with the fabricated glass to make sure the fit was exact and perfect. He came with tools to expertly fine tune the glass so that it could easily slide out if cleaning is necessary in the future. We are delighted with the result and have the highest respect for how PERFECT this glass surface is. The bay window is a focal point of our living room and - even with an active dog - the surface is beautifully protected.

I sent in a request to get a price for a glass pane replacement. I selected this route after getting a quote for an actual window replacement of $1,100.00. I sent in my request and within an hour I got my first email from Glass.com. I specified in the email to Deb that I am extremely hard to reach on the phone and the best way to get a hold of me is through email. Now, keep in mind Deb and I have never spoken on the phone. Deb has been nothing but pleasant, caring and attentive to my needs and concerns. She has provided the best follow up and communication to me. I sent Deb an email advising her after about a week or so that I have not forgotten about her company and I was waiting on my tax return so I can order the glass and get it installed. Deb made arrangements to order the glass and get it in so that it can be ready for me when I was ready. I then got an email from Deb less than a week later telling me the glass was in and she was coming out in a few days to install it. "I still have not spoken to Deb on the phone" Deb made arrangements to have the glass installed while I was at work and also an arrangement for payment at a generous time frame. I cannot say anything bad about Deb and Glass.com. Nothing but 1 million star review comes to mind. I have been in the customer service industry for 20+ years and have never been treated with such respect and trust that Deb has ever provided to my family. I have been working with Deb for less than 3 weeks and I have a brand new glass pane installed and my house is back to normal. My gratitude goes out to DEB AND GLASS.COM for your loving support to my family. I am so pleased I am coming back for the same great service.

My father was heartbroken because his dad was his hero, and seeing the case damaged really affected him. As a Christmas present, I wanted to repair the box, replace the glass, and ceremoniously refold the flag that had come unfurled when the box fell. I stopped by four different places to have it repaired, but each one said they could not do it and suggested buying a new case instead. While replacing it would have been easier and probably cheaper, my father was deeply sentimental about the original case. I finally visited House of Glass in Elmhurst. Not only did they agree to replace the glass, Linda told me it would be their honor to help after hearing the story. I am so grateful for the people there at House of Glass. I dropped it off right before closing, and they had it ready for pick-up early the next day. I have since had the flag refolded at the local American Legion, and the restored case is now wrapped and waiting under the tree for my father to open on Christmas morning. Thank you, House of Glass!
