Overall good experience. Easy to contact and set up appointment. They were reasonably priced... I had 2 fireplaces inspected. read more

I'm glad I called. This company was professional and affordable. Same day service with a smile. If anyone ever needs to have their chimney swept or cleaned, I highly recommend calling them. You won't be disappointed read more

My wife was the one who had reached out to Soot Yourself to try and get our chimney cleaned out. If there's one word I could use to describe the experience it would be trustworthy. We had originally scheduled to have them come out late 2021, and rescheduled a few weeks later. Pricing had gone up for the new year, but Pattie was willing to honor the original price quoted to us which was great. Fast forward to the day of the scheduled service, and Al is the serviceman scheduled to come out. He shows up right on time for our scheduled appointment. After grabbing gear and mask, I point him over to our fireplace to let him get to work. After inspecting the chimney, he mentions that it's clean and doesn't need to be serviced. Talk about honesty. He could've easily just gone through the motions and taken my money and I wouldn't have known the difference. Anyways, he ended up just doing an overall inspection which seemed pretty thorough, checking the cover opens and closes, testing the gas igniter, ash dump area, and visually inspecting the structure from inside and out. Only recommendation was for a chimney cover, which he quoted for but was not pushy and gave me time to think about it. Anyways, appreciated the honesty and professionalism. Will definitely have them come by again for any future chimney services! 'Til next time, cheers! read more

The owner Al was very honest on our required Condo fireplace inspection. His wife Patty on phone was also a delight setting up or appointment. Price was also fair ,but most important, no attempt to upsell anything as was my experience 3 years before. I'll tell everyone else in building and recommend his service. read more

Soot Yourself Chimney did a great job working on my chimney, they where true professional's!! I would highly recommend them!!

Used them for the first time. Great job!!! Professional, reliable, knowledgeable and on time. Highly recommended for your chimney cleaning and needs. read more

This company is the best company of all the service companies I have dealt with in the last 20+ years! They go above and beyond in all areas. They were also the most reasonable sweeps I have ever had. Al and his associate inspected all 3 of our fireplaces and flues, then patiently explained how to work the one gas fireplace I had problems lighting. He had me take a video, which was the smartest thing I could have done. Christmas Eve late afternoon, I was panicked because I thought I was letting gas into the house. Forgetting to watch the video he had me take, I called and left a message. They were closed for the day, but he called me back to explain it all to me again. They are wonderful! read more

Professional, reliable, knowledgeable, approachable, responsive and the list goes on! Highly recommend!

Had them out twice. No pressure. Good material to repair my cap. Cleaning reasonable. Had possible other repair needed. Said no need now. Explained processes, easily understood. High recommendation. read more

I love these guys! They are very knowledgeable, experienced and educational. They clean up after themselves, and are very personable and most importantly they don't try to up sell you! And they are off duty firefighters, so they know the importance of safety, first hand! read more

Soot Yourself came in and did our inspection. we knew there were problems with our chimney when we purchased our home but Soot Yourself was able to fix everything! they listened to our concerns, we're more professional than some other companies who also gave us quotes, and the work was great ! read more

Found this company on Yelp after I noticed a huge bird nest on the other side of my fireplace screen and a not so great smell starting to come through. First off, I didn't catch her name but the woman on the phone couldn't have been any nicer. Great way to start the whole experience. Very sweet and got us an appointment a week out. Now onto the actual appointment. Al was great! Again, very nice guy and took his time, cleaned everything out, made a suggestion for a screen as he could see where we had birds coming in, very thorough. The best part was the little lesson he can give you about actually starting the fireplace. Being in our home 4 years, we had yet to use it so it was nice that we could have a professional show us how it's done. The price was absolutely great. I will most definitely use this company in the future and recommend them to anyone and everyone. read more

Pattie and Al are both fantastic! This is the third time I have used Soot Yourself and I would highly recommended them. They've helped me with getting an estimate on fixing the crown of the chimney(before I bought the house), fixing the crown (after I bought the house), and cleaning out the chimney. Everything was done quickly and efficiently. Thank you so much Soot Yourself! read more

Soot Yourself has cleaned and tuck pointed our fireplace. Later this month they will be seal coating our brick fireplace with a ten year guarantee. So glad we found Soot Yourself. Their Home Base communication is as excellent as their employees, Will and Al. Reasonable prices and excellent work. read more

What a great company! Pattie couldn't be any nicer, professional, and honest. She was the reason why I decided to go with Soot Yourself. Al is a really nice guy as well. He inspected, cleaned the fireplace, replaced the gas hose and the chimney cap. I made sure to keep their information as I plan to use them for future cleanings. read more

I was so thankful to be referred to Soot Yourself Chimney Services. They fully inspected our chimney and were able to direct me to a company to do repairs. You can be sure we will have them take care of our chimney issues in the future. These are good, honest people that I am happy to recommend. read more

Good communication and came out as scheduled, no surprises. We had them clean the chimney and patch the firebox, and when they were done, they cleaned up nicely. Would recommend them for chimney sweep services! read more

Al was amazing! Very friendly and professional. We had 2 rain caps installed and 1 tune up. It couldn't have gone smoother l. We were planning on a second but didn't need it which he was honest about. Al really enjoys what he does, and I enjoyed having him out to address our chimney needs. read more

A friend recommended Soot Yourself and I couldn't be happier with their work. Al is a retired fireman (who did our chimney sweep) and his very friendly wife Patty does all of the scheduling. I had gotten another very expensive quote for a chimney sweep from another company, the other company also recommended a number of other things "I must do". Al was very knowledgable and reassured me the things the other company said I had to do were absolutely unnecessary. So glad I found Soot Yourself. You won't be disappointed! read more

When we moved into our house we were excited to use the fireplace. On our first fire we found that smoke was being drawn into the basement. We had Fireplace & Chimney Authority out and they said that it would need to be relined. The estimate was $4.5-5K. I know nothing about chimneys and from their video and pictures that diagnosis seemed reasonable. They said it was in really bad shape. So bad they wouldn't even want to clean it for fear it would basically disintegrate. So I resigned myself to the fact that I wouldn't have fires for quite a while. $5K was out of the budget. We have a neighbor that was told the same thing by another company when they moved into their house. They heard good things about Soot Yourself and decided to get another opinion. Soot Yourself solved their problem without having the chimney relined. So I called to get a second opinion. Al took a look and came to a different conclusion than the other company. There were issues with the flue tiles at the top of the chimney which had come loose. It couldn't be guaranteed that was the issue but at a fraction of the cost quoted by the other company it was a chance I was willing to take. We just had a fire with no smoke in the basement!! Really wish we had called Soot Yourself 3 years ago! read more

I recently had an existing chimney cap blown off and called a local chimney sweep to get a quote to come out and reinstall it and take a peek in the chimney flue to make sure no wildlife had taken up residence. After less than stellar service from the first company and a quote that seemed extreme just to come LOOK at the situation, I decided to give Soot Yourself a call. When I first got in touch with them, I was told I was just outside of their service area. I spun my tale of woe, and they said they had a nearby appointment for the following week and could schedule me then and quoted a price about half of the first company. They called me back shortly after and said that after looking at scheduling, they could actually fit me in the next morning, if that was ok. I jumped at the opportunity. The technician arrived on time the next morning and quickly went to work, replacing my cap with no hard sell on needing to buy a new cap from them. He reassured me that everything was clear and sound with the chimney, and took pictures. He mentioned that there were a few small cracks in the top of the crown, showed me pictures, and said I might want to get it repaired in the future, but was not pushy about it nor did he try to get me to schedule anything on the spot. He didn't push to inspect my other chimney or fireplace or any of the other issues I've had with past chimney services. In the end, they even knocked a little bit off the final price because I held ladders for the technician, due to the height and steepness of my roof. I can't speak for their sweeping service, as I haven't used it. But the customer service and price were more than I could have hoped for on this small job and I will definitely be contacting them for any future work I might need. read more

I chose this company because they employ off-duty firefighters. Who better to ensure that my fireplace is maintained in safe operating condition? They were on-time for their appointment, friendly and professional. I appreciated how careful they were to clean up after themselves. For all of these reasons in addition to their reasonable price I plan to call them every year. read more

Soot Yourself did a great job -- both of their pros showed up in masks, were very considerate and professional -- and they got our chimney cleaned and ready to use again. Quick, clean, professional, on-time and a great value. I highly recommend Soot Yourself! read more

While we did not use Patty, I did speak with her as a reference on the phone for work that was recommended during our inspection of our home. She was so honest and kind with her feedback, that I felt compelled to write a review. We wish her the best of luck in the future. read more

Al and Pattie are wonderful to work with. They've done my home and my mother's. Always a great experience. Good advice and no hard sales push. read more

My brother-in-law recommended Soot Yourself and we couldn't have been happier with the service. We had never gotten our chimney cleaned and they did a thorough job and even repaired the mortar right on the spot. The prices were very reasonable even with this added service and both Patty and the service technician could not have been nicer! read more

Very professional, didn't sell me anything I didn't need. And much less expensive than their competitors.

Very conscientious of Covid, the technicians both wore masks. They were in and out in a very reasonable time, did some additional Tuckpointing and left the fireplace cleaner than it was. Highly recommend these guys, support local read more

Pattie and Al were responsive to our request and provided prompt service on an chmney cap replacement.

We hired Soot Yourself for work done on three fireplaces in our older home. They are a family operated business and as friendly as you can get. We had Al come out for an estimate. Even though he was late, he gave us advance notice that he was running behind. He was very fast and very clean during his consultation. We had to order a new damper and he said it would take about a week for it to come in and he would contact us when it was ready. I had to deduct two stars because it took about 2 follow-up phone calls to schedule the appointment to get the damper installed. I found out that they have had some family issues and apologized for the inconvenience. On the day the appointment was supposed to take place, I received no notification of what time they would be at our home. Around 3:00 (I was out running errands), Al called my cell phone to tell me he was running ahead of schedule and would be at my house shortly. Unfortunately, I had to tell him to wait until 4:00. He didn't seem to mind. He was, once again, very clean and very efficient. Again, I had to deduct a couple of starts due to the customer service issues, but overall, I would recommend them for their quality of service. read more

Al was great! He was professional and was very honest about everything that we needed done. His prices are extremely reasonable. We had a big company come out first and realized how outrageous their prices were so we got a second opinion. I would recommend this company to anyone. read more

I am not sure why anyone would use any other company but Soot Yourself Chimney Service. They are incredibly helpful and friendly, as well as reasonably priced. They only recommend things that need to be done, which isn't that common in this industry. I strongly recommend them. read more

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! I can't say enough about our experience with Soot Yourself. From my first conversation with Patty to Al's inspection in our home today, we received nothing but honest, professional, friendly, first-class service. Prior to some remodeling work in our house, we had another company inspect our fireplace, as we wanted to replace the masonry facade. That company informed us that our flue had separated and the whole unit needed to be replaced...everything! Their estimate to do the work started at $8000-$10,000. Needless to say, we thought a 2nd opinion was called for. Al very thoroughly inspected the fireplace and assured us that the flue was not compromised and a total replacement was unnecessary. As he is a retired firefighter, his background and practical experience earned our respect and trust. Thank you so much for your honesty, integrity, and professionalism. And, Patty - you're the best! Thank you for your input and lively conversations. You guys are amazing to do business with. :) read more
