I've used Igor for my customer's jobs and here at my own home for several years now. He and his guys just finished the tile work in my own master bathroom and the attention to detail was spot-on. I've waited 6 months before writing a review on purpose. You can love any remodel when its brand new but I want to say that 6 months later I am just as wowed as I was the first morning I got to use my new master bathroom! Igor and his team are amazing!! Even when I couldn't envision it Igor helped me see what my tiny fiberglass shower could become. After taking out the insert he was able to enlarge the area and remove half the wall between the shower and bathtub. It really opened things up. The transformation is better than what I thought was possible. The tile floor is completely level and the tile was laid in such a way that each piece complements the other. I'm kind of a perfectionist so when I do things I want them done right the first time. Igor and his team did not disappoint! They are craftsmen who take pride in their work. We contracted SD Tile and Stone (owner Igor) to replace our marble floor. 760 square feet including entrance hall, kitchen, laundry and breakfast nook. The original marble floor tiles were demolished quickly and effectively with a minimum of fuss. Igor installed large (32" x 16") ceramic tiles in an extremely tight fitting pattern so there are almost no grout lines. In the entrance we asked for a custom design and Igor created a marble inlay pattern, which looks amazing (see pic.). Igor cut all the tiles himself and took a lot of care to get things absolutely perfect. Nothing was too difficult or to too much trouble for Igor who takes great pride in his work. The project was delivered on time and on budget with no surprises and to a very high standard. If you are looking for a top quality tile and stone installer look no further, you will not find better. Just completed a tile job that took SDTile 11 months to complete. One would think I was the owner of a sprawling mansion. But, in fact, my home is only 1900 square feet. I was one of Igor's (the owner of SDTile) first clients nearly a decade ago. In fact, I was his first review on Yelp. It looks like my original 5 star review is not longer listed. However, in the meantime I have recommended him to countless people and next door sites- including a 10,000 square foot job he got thru my recommendation in RSF. Unfortunately, the sweet guy who originally did such a great job seems now to only be concerned about money and not loyal customers or customer service. He ripped out our small master bathroom last October. It took him 6 weeks to re-tile and install tile thru the master bedroom and bath even though there was only a bare concrete floor to tile (no demo). He also scratched, beyond repair, the gorgeous new bathroom tile and did not offer to repair it. Upon completion he was supposed to have completed tiling the floor of the rest of our small house. HE DID NOT RETURN FOR 10 MONTHS. Instead he stacked our new tile in our rear garden on a concrete walkway that promptly cracked under its weight - costing us thousands of dollars to fix.... He returned 7 weeks ago to finish tiling our hallway and three small rooms and a small bathroom. He told us it would take two weeks. Almost 2 months later with almost constant supervision and 6 day work weeks starting at 6:45 am they finally completed it. He had only used half of his crew and was actually training this small crew of two- on our time. The tile layer was very nice and accommodating but we had to deal with the time delay in his learning curve , a language barrier,and the fact that Igor was almost never around so the directions were constantly misinterpreted. I ended up having to check in constantly to avoid almost hourly problems. In the end he did a very nice job But 2 months of my full time had been eaten up. If that was all the problems I'd had from him I wouldnot have even written this review. But it turned out that Igor did not order enough of my tile for the entire house. I had asked him 3 different times if we had enough tile and he assured me we did, but during the re-tiling of the last room - which had to be done after ordering more tile , we realized that since there was such a big time gap in ordering tile replacement THE NEW TILE WAS A DIFFERENT COLOR. He told me was very upset about this but offered no solution at all. If you can believe it, we still have the living room and kitchen to tile, but we only have a mismatch checkerboard of old tiles to use. AND IGOR ABSOLUTELY REFUSES TO PAY FOR THE ORDER OF ALL NEW MATCHING TILES- though he concedes it is his fault. In closing, SDTile and stone is very expensive - our quote was almost $30,000 FOR INSTALLATION ONLY-yet we are left with damages, a glass bathroom wall that won't fit due to a mismeasurement of tile , a cracked walkway, and a $3000 bill for new tile for the living room/kitchen which will not even match the rest of the flooring in our small house. It is our hope that this review will help you to avoid the horrible experience we have gone thru with a person we considered to be practically part of the family. read more

We hired Igor and his family/crew to install travertine tile around a firepit, and all around our backyard pool and up the side of the house. They also installed stone on our front porch, walkways, and in a design on our driveway. The price was very competitive. Igor returned calls, showed up as scheduled, and kept us updated on progress and who would be there and when. They were all very professional and did excellent work. I have no complaints. Most promised to come by and give estimate but failed to show up or call, some were ridiculously priced, and a few said they would start our project then we wouldn't hear from them. We had one of our bathrooms remodeled. New tile shower walls with niche and mural along with new tile floor was professionally done by Igor and his 2 helpers. I had an extremely large floor installation job and I contacted Igor. The bid was reasonable, but what impressed me the most were the installers. Fili and the crew were excellent. They arrived on time, worked extremely hard throughout the day (no smoke breaks, only break for lunch), and were finished in under 2 weeks. The job was a bit more difficult than usual since we were installing marble and our slab was uneven in places--that meant they had to use a lot more thinset than usual. The crew made sure every piece of tile was level and that the design in the center turned out beautifully. Igor checked on the job regularly, so if any issue came up, he was there to deal with it. With the remodel we're doing, we've seen a lot of workers--but none as professional, quick, hard-working and knowledgeable as the ones at SD Tile & Stone. Would definitely use them again. read more

I usually don't like to recommend my best finds when it comes to subcontractors, as I find they get too busy when I need them. But Igor deserves a fantastic review. I've finally met someone who is as picky as me; he's a perfectionist - and I mean that in the best way. The other great thing about Igor is that he's truly a nice guy. He's always ready to lend a hand (even helped my electrician lift a heavy chandelier when no one else was around to help out). Things don't always go as planned on construction/remodels but if there ever is an issue I love that Igor always takes full responsibility and figures out a solution. He even saved us when our countertop guy completely botched the kitchen quartzite counter install (see review). Igor stepped up and repaired everything, saving me thousands of dollars and many headaches with the other contractor. He didn't have to make it his problem but he knew we were in trouble and came to the rescue.
