I had a few reference photos for a balayage, and let me tell you, it was better than I ever expected! My hair is very dark, so it also required some toner to get to the best color. I came in for a dye highlight and style and for 130 ended up paying 450 and thats fine if my hair was nice I went in and had black roots(natural hair) and red hair they bleached my hair and it was blonde and pink then dyed it and the top turned red and bottom turned brown and then they did highlights and now I have red hair with highlights at top n brown hair with highlights at bottom. When I expressed my concerns he said I look fine my kids were waiting and I've been there 7 hours so I just left when I get home I realized how much of a difference it is . When I put my hair in a ponytail half my head has highlights and one thick highlight next to my ear the the other side had no highlights. I called in and expressed my concerns with multiple people Update:Paul is trying to fix my hair im great full there trying to fix it fingers crossed it comes out good. Update: he added more beautiful highlights but the red still came through so we had to add brown on top.He was very professional and kind and tried his best to fix it . Update:after $450 spent highlights twice bleached dyed 3 times my hair is now red brown on top and brown on bottom and is fried but its more blended and even looking .im going to have go my stylist near home to go over it again because it is different colors and is very dry but I appreciate the effort put in to correct the mistakes. He was very kind and did a very nice marocon oil treatment in my hair. read more

******UPDATE: It's been 4 days since my hair cut and I am officially horrified. My Hair has never been so short and I'm a mess. I have reached anger in my stages of grief and I can tell you that I will NOT be reaching acceptance at any point. I have upped my hair vitamin intake and bought enough Salmon to each for the next few months (I am also shopping around for places to get extensions, if anyone is reading this and has suggestions please PM me)********** I came in for a haircut for the new client special ( $35 for haircut and an additional $10 for a blow dry with Sam). I came in super early since it was really bad weather and my shopping had to get cut short (NOT the only thing that got cut short that day). I waited in the waiting room and I was super bored, there were no magazines. There were 2 chairs but between 2 spa rooms so I couldn't even make a phone call since it was a quiet area. Anyways, Sam grabbed me ( no introduction) took me to get my hair washed and then sat me down in a chair ( still didn't say two things to me) after he brushed my hair he asked what I wanted. I simply said I don't get haircuts to often because I love my long hair so I only want an inch off and layering throughout ( I was specific and firm in that nothing more than an inch comes off). He separated my hair and cut a small piece and asked if that was okay. I looked it over and said yes, looked to be an inch and I was good with that. AND THEN BAM! Hair went flying and just like that a lot more then 1 inch came off. I was clearly horrified. and said that is way more then an inch and his response was " o must have been some mis-communication). I would say at least 5-6 inches of length came off. My hair started off at my bra line and by the time Sam was done with me my hair now ends at my collar bone. I cant even begin to stress how much I hate short hair. Long story short- I went from long luscious locks to having a mom bob, experienced a mild panic attack ( not only because my hair is now short, but I literally spend $300 on an ombre the previous week) and now I will have to wear my hair up. 2 stars ONLY BECAUSE the pricing was good (I now know why) and Sam got my layers right- I just wish I didn't have to sacrifice my beautiful, luscious hair that took forever to get to the length I had. read more

The gentleman who helped me pick out the color: spot on Sam who applied the color, washed, deep conditioned, massaged my head, meticulously cut, and blow dried my curly, frizzy hair perfectly smooth and voluptuous: incredible. Sam was the most amazing hair artist I've ever experienced and I'm thrilled to send all of my loved ones his way. You can see and feel his passion in every move he makes. Although Sam isn't very chatty, his vibe and professionalism is that of a world-class hair stylist. ASK FOR SAM!!! In regards to the salon: it's not updated or stylish. The nail tech that first locked eyes with me wasn't very welcoming or helpful when I arrived, but the other gentleman stepped in and gave me the color book to review. They pay so much attention to getting the perfect eyebrow shape! Very nice salon. They follow Covid rules with their scheduling so not too many patrons at the same time. And salon is very clean. Friendly staff. I have been disappointed with the last several highlights that I've had at other salons. SAM is fabulous! . Stopped by Scruples today after a seven year hiatus, Georgette still works there and is as good as ever. Back in grad school, I had a short, military-ish cut, and now I have a bit more length, but Georgette was great with my current, longer do. If you are an Asian guy, highly recommend Georgette. I usually go to Uni in Arlington Heights to get my haircut, since it is a Japanese place and they know how to cut longer Asian hair, but I don't think it's necessary with Georgette around. Also, is it just me or are there a lot of weird negative reviews about this place? Not paying employees on time, owing money on a lease, sounds like someone has a personal beef that is unrelated to the services provided. And a lot of the negative reviewers have very few reviews. DONT EVER GO THERE AND DON"T HAVE PAUL CUT YOUR HAIR. i can't believe he calls himself a hair stylist. i went in for a trim and he cut 3 and half inched off my hair!! He did nothing to it but gave me a horrible cut and something i did not want! He had his assistant do everything else and took not even 10 minutes to ruin my hair. Well, I'll see what the cut is actually like after it dries. This place left a terrible taste in my mouth regardless of how the style looks when I dry it myself. I showed up for my appointment and my stylist Paul was on the phone and they said he would be with me when he was done. When he finished that phone call, he promptly picked up the phone and started another one. 10 minutes isn't a long time to wait, but since there is nowhere to sit I was able to witness this lack of attentiveness. Since this was my first time here, I was starting to feel hesitant, but the shampoo from another woman (while Paul finished call #2) was really nice and relaxing. During the cut, I warned Paul not to cut my bangs too short when he started to comb them because they curl, and bam, he didn't listen and now they're way shorter than I like to keep them. He informed me that to blow dry my hair would be another $35. I don't mind paying $45 for a haircut, since I don't like to lose a lot of length it's a glorified trim but I like a nice treat, but $80 is way, way too rich for the twenty minutes he spent with me. So he said he could "rough dry" it for free, and it's the frizziest I've ever looked after drying, even when I just finger comb my hair at home. It's like he wanted it to look bad, and when I pointed out how frizzy it looked he just told me that's what happens when you don't do the full dry. I've never felt like a stylist wanted me to look bad after they did their work, but that was how I felt when I walked out of there. The location is super convenient to work, but I am never going back. read more
