Great new local brewery, and keep 'em coming! I love that Omaha is turning into a beer city to be reckoned with. Also a great addition to the Blackstone District. I hope more places fill the empty storefronts here and make this a new Dundee/Benson type area (with worse parking). Real cool layout on the inside, the bar is huge and takes up a lot of the open room, but leaves everything feeling spacious. There was only a couple people in here at the time so I didn't get to see it crowded. They have TVs you can view from pretty much all angles which is nice. Awesome employees as well. They have a good selection of beers for just starting. Like other reviewers have said, all their beers have a pretty hoppy taste to them, not like a hardcore IPA but you can taste the hops above pretty much everything. The St. Meinrad is a great example of a Belgian golden, probably the best local Belgian beer I've tried. Everything else is decent, but nothing really outstanding. I hope they will continue to come up with new brews and tweak some of their previous ones. All in all, great new brewery and great atmosphere, hope people will keep making it more popular. read more

Another awesome local brewery in Omaha! I am loving these breweries that have been popping up the past couple of years, and this one just may be my favorite. The atmosphere is laid back and cozy... almost like you're in a ski lodge. The smell of fresh wood is welcoming, and the glimpse into the actual brewery is pretty cool. The bartenders are all friendly and really know their beers. They're currently brewing a Christmas beer that I'm excited to check out in a couple of weeks, but right now, they have a solid list of beers on tap. I went with a beer flight and for $7, it was totally worth it. Definitely worth checking out! read more

This is a new brewery in the Blackstone district, which seemingly popped up overnight. Scriptown has some fierce competition in the new area with Nite Owl and Mula close by (two great places if you are in search of food!), but Scriptown is a decent bar to meet friends and enjoy a drink. A friend and I stopped by on a Sunday afternoon, and it was dead. There were only two other people in the entire place. However, it seems most places in Omaha are either closed entirely on Sundays or close early, so I wasn't shocked when I found out Scriptown closes at 6pm on Sundays. I have been here on a weeknight when there was more of a crowd, so I do hope people are making their way to this gem of a place. I believe parking can be an issue for the Blackstone District, but Scriptown does have some parking behind their building. The two times I have been here I have also seen they have a 'gourmet waffle slider' food truck; unfortunately I have not been here when this is open, but I am definitely wanting to check it out and get some gourmet waffles! Overall, the place is fun. My wheat beer was good, and my friend had one of the mixed drinks (the GG) which she said she really enjoyed. They do have a short menu which makes it night as their aren't too many options that can sometimes be overwhelming. I have loved this place since the day it opened. It is unpretentious but comfortable and serves solid beer. The bar staff is friendly and efficient. Great place for a group to have some fun. We've been there a few times with guests from out of town. Its a great setup because there's plenty of space to mix in with the regular crowd. The beers are great and they aren't all just IPA's like some breweries these days. You should be able to find a beer you enjoy on their list no problem. read more

I have been here a few times and after a crawl through the neighboring bars, I think Scriptown is my favorite bar in the Blackstone area. They have a good selection (not huge but you will be able to find something you like) and the staff is very helpful and friendly. I felt very welcomed here. The drinks were also all a very reasonable price. There isn't much to not like about the bar. Unlike other bars, I walk in here and it just smells so good. The bathrooms were very nice also, which is always a bonus at a bar. Also, the wooden walls make for a good backdrop for your IG pics too! read more

I went to Kathmandu Momo (amazinggg) and decided to have a drink at Scriptown since they are in the same building. It was averagely busy but I didn't have any trouble finding a spot at the bar. This is my first time at Scriptown and I must say it looks really nice. You can smell the wood from the fresh wood floors and the bricks walls gives the place some character to it. There's a variety of beers, beer cocktails, whiskey and of course peanuts and pretzels! The ambiance is pretty chill and a great place to hang with friends to chat. read more

Scriptown is a wonderful brewery located down in Blackstone which has picked up steam over the past few years. I had the chance to go down and try three of their brews last night: a wheat, a chocolate stout, and a coffee stout made in collaboration with Archetype coffee. The beers were solid and delicious I just wish I had more time to try the others. My only complaint is that the place can get really loud. I think this is primarily due to the acoustics rather than a rowdy crowd. Overall I like to Scriptown a lot but I can't give it 5 Stars until I try more of their beers. read more

Really nice staff all around. We were in the area for the Blackstone food truck event and they let us sit inside (AIR CONDITIONING!) to eat our food and gave us lots of cold water. The bartender was sweet to me. A friend ordered a ginger beer and even though I'm not a fan of ginger beer it was pretty darn tasty. It was like grown up lemonade, very subtle ginger flavor and only $3. Even though I don't really drink, I'd definitely go back with friends. read more

The beer is pretty good for a session IPA, but It would be even better if it were a bit more complex in flavor. It would be great if they offered a regular IPA, or perhaps a double. It's been over a year now, and my opinion definitely has not changed about Scriptown. We are there between 2 and 3 nights/week. The beers are all fantastic, and mostly lower ABV, meaning I can have a few in a sitting and still drive the mile and a half down the road to my house. All of the bartenders are also fantastic. They all work their tails off, especially now that it gets busy even on weeknights and there might only be one working. If one of the owners are there (John and Scott) and it gets busy, you will see them get behind the bar and start serving drinks as well. Tip: Wednesdays are all-day happy hour! $1 off all beers! read more

Nothing but class here. I was really impressed on my first trip that I thought it would be a good idea to bring some others with me after we had dinner. We attempted to hit Farnam House, but they were closed. Nite Owl also was not an options so we came into Scriptown. I was under control, as was a majority of my party. We did have one with us that I should have thought more about. I got a #7 and a Cpt. and coke. Wifle had a Scriptown Mule because they brew their own Ginger beer. She really liked it and my beer was also pretty good. Our one obnoxious patron started to get stupid and Eric was really nice in letting us know that we had to go. I have been removed from a few bars in my time and none of them were as polite and discreet. Keep in mind that I wasn't belligerent, but our party had to go. I will be back because I feel bad that I represented Yelp in less than a stellar way. Too bad I will not go there again. I have nothing to say about their product as I left after 10 minutes of being ignored. Last Saturday afternoon I stopped in for a beer. We sat at the bar. There were two bartenders to serve less than 20 people. One bartender totally ignored us and when we asked for a sample the other acted annoyed. We did get a sample and had to wait again while the two bartenders (I will not say servers) chatted with the same customer. Well we walked out. If the ownership reads these rating you need to look into what happened Saturday. If you were there then, well, get your act together. Personally I will not be back and I will tell everyone I know that Scriptown Brewing has issues. read more

Even though I don't like beer I enjoyed my time here over the weekend. I had the Scotty B and a Moscow mile. The mule was my fave because I could still taste the beer in the beer cocktail (duh) just wish I enjoyed the flavor of beer. I had the same experience as the reviewer Jose. My party of four sober, polite adults was easily able to find a table. We waited about ten minutes till it was clear there was no wait staff so one of us went to the bar to order beer. My friend couldn't even get a bartender to make eye contact. Finally one glanced/glared at him and said "we're really busy right now". Totally bizarre. We were there at least 30 min (waiting for and eating dumplings from the attached place next door) and couldn't even get a glass of water. They weren't that busy. The owner should be mortified. I will never go back. I might buy a Scriptown T-shirt though to give to my friend as a gag gift cause that's how bad our experience was. There are lots of great places in Blackstone. Very poor customer service. Went as a group to rent their room which was also a storage room with 1 table, no server, busser, music or tv. Bartenders were not on page with what was agreed upon with the owner previously. When we first got there they took about half of our orders and stopped to go to other side of the bar to get other orders. When one guest arrived they tried to get her to give them her credit card for the $450 that they wanted which was also never agreed upon. At that point the girl who the party was for was obviously upset that they had treated her guest like that and went to talk with them at the bar about it. A few minutes later the bartender came back to talk to us and rudely said that we were only to work with him at that point because the other bartender felt like the girl who rented the room had an "attitude". Really?!? We have all worked in the customer service industry for a long time and would NEVER tell a paying guest that they had attitude so they couldn't talk to us. Mind you that took us from two bartenders on a Saturday night to one. No one ever apologized, acknowledged that there was a miscommunication, or would take the time to look into what was said in the agreed upon messages. There are too many good bars and breweries WITH good service in Omaha to think that you can treat your customers that way. Won't be going back. read more

We stopped in yesterday for a quick drink in between a matinee and dinner. I immediately loved the atmosphere of Scriptown - relaxed, a couple of televisions, but nothing that made it seem like a sports bar, and a good combination of bar and table seating. We took a seat at the bar and were immediately greeted by the bartender. He offered to answer questions, but was not pushy about getting us to order. I checked out what was on tap, but was immediately intrigued by the mules due to the homemade ginger beer. I selected a sour cherry mule and my partner settled on the Saddle Creek Wheat. My mule was perfection - sweet, tart, and enough ice to keep the drink cool in the copper mug, but not so much that it watered down the drink. I could have sipped those all day in the hot summer heat. I also tried the wheat and found it to be light and refreshing. Our bartender stopped by several times to check on us and was attentive to others at the bar as well. We don't often have the opportunity to get out sans kiddos, but we will definitely return to Scriptown if we do! read more

I haven't had their beer but I hear it's great. Their Moscow Mules with their ginger beer are the best ever. I really can't even bring myself to drink canned ginger beer any longer. My first visit here didn't start in the greatest of ways but by the end of the night, things had improved and I would definitely make a return trip next time I'm in town. Got to scriptown around 9 on a Saturday night. The place was packed, which I took to be a good thing - must be pretty decent if everyone and their brother is here. After some scrounging around, managed to nab two seats at the wrap-around bar, which as a side note, I really dig how the bar is set up. Moving on. Upon browsing the beer menu, the Saddle creek wheat seemed like an obvious choice for me, as I am a big fan of wheat beers. However, I overhear the bartender telling another customer that they are out of that and another beer on their eight beer list. OK, that's fine, a little disappointing but not the end of the world. At this point I'm thinking "a flight sounds real nice right now." Attempt to order one and am informed that they are "out" of flight glasses. I realize I'm being over dramatic but what?! Out of flight glasses?? Are you guys collecting/washing the empty ones cause I know I saw some empty ones sitting around when I was looking for a seat earlier. Soo...that was annoying. At this point, I've decided they're only getting 3 stars on my Yelp review. Buuut...they redeemed themselves with the St. Meinrad, a Belgian style beer that i loved. And they ended up finding some clean flight glasses so I got my flight after all. Besides seeming a little harried initially, the staff was pretty cool for the most part. Nice addition to the Blackstone district on West Farnam. This area is going places and so will this Brewery/Bar once everything gets off the ground. First off, there is no food served here, so you may want to hit up some place before or plan to go some place afterwards, in fact, I didn't see even peanuts or pretzels around. Second, the owner is a Sessions Beer guy, so most of the brews are light IPAs, even the Stout wasn't very stout. Finally, parking in this area is hard to come by, even on the local side streets, so plan ahead, especially on cold days. This place has enormous potential, so I will have to wait till later to see if it earns more stars. read more
