The best store in Oak Park, if you have a pet that you treat better than most people treat their children. Sparty hasn't met a toy he didn't like here, his favorite are the planet dog toys (definitely worth the money, as his have lasted over a year). They have really cute handmade recycled dog toys also. Great dog bakery! To be honest, I havent even looked at the human stuff. The staff here is mostly wonderful. One woman even helped us size a dog harness and gave us some great leash walking tips, way above and beyond most pet stores in the area! read more

'Tis the middle of September and I spotted about 4 Christmas gifts in here already. Crazy, right? Well, Scratch 'N Sniff carries a very large selection of gifts for your furry,cuddly,warm-blooded loves in your life. Leashes, collars, bells, toys, costumes, foods and goodies, bags and purses, magnets, cards, tags and the place will have your eyes wandering like a waggin' tail. My pup scored a new squeaky goat and a boho collar. Good girl! A bit pricey, but worth a spin for the selection. read more

This is a cool little shop! OMG, they have like, EVERYTHING there!!! It's ridiculous in a good way. My very first trip there was only to get one thing, which this woman helped me immensely on picking out, might I add. Anyway, an hour and a half later, I left with like $50 worth of stuff. (I couldn't help it, they had stuff, like, everywhere.) And not just regular stuff, I'm talkin supa-fly-off-the-chain stuff. Anyway, I will definately be back, and thanks again to the helpful and friendly staff!! =) read more

Just pure shopping entertainment. I don't know how many times I found a cute little gift, or card, or wrapping paper that stands out and it has always come from here or Pumpkin Moon. I bought something for my cat here once, but pet toys must be for pet owners because she finds my laundry basket or a paper bag 100x more exciting than anything I've ever purchased. Staff is friendly and can be silly & fun. Please don't go away, Target gets enough of my money! read more

All-around great shop! The staff is very knowledgable about the pet products they sell, always helpful and make very good suggestions. On top of having a nice selection of carefully curated products for my dogs, they have whimsical gift items. It's a great place to shop for someone who's difficult to buy for because there's an ever changing selection of the clever, funny, and unusual items. It's also my go to place for fun readers, totes and handbags. read more

This place has the cutest stuff, lots of little knick knacks. They have the cutest pet costumes, so if you have a cat or dog, you should get in there ASAP and get them a costume. read more

Scratch 'N Sniff - Pet Stores Near Me - Oak Park, Illinois

I LOVE this store. It has all the whimsical, cute, unique, and useful things you could think of. Need a luchador bottle opener? What about a flexible flask? How about a horse head squirrel feeder? Have no fear, scratch n sniff has everything random you can think of. I can spend a ton of money here if I spend long enough here. The employees are super nice and the prices are pretty reasonable. Will be back. All my friends are getting Christmas gifts from here. read more

Loved this store!! If you are looking for something special for your four-legged friend or just a quirky doo-dad for yourself, Scratch & Sniff is the place to go! I was blown away by the merchandise they carried for cats. It always seems like there are a ton of stores out there dedicated to dogs...what about cats? Even though my cat acts more like a dog, he is still a cat and likes cat-type stuff. Scratch & Sniff had tons of toys, treats, cat-nip, collars, etc for my fur baby. I ended up buying the coolest feather wand that has interchangeable feathers, cat-nip, crispy salmon treats (they smell gawd awful but he LOVES them), and some Weruva wet food (Weruva is only sold in select stores so this was a total score). Finally a store that acknowledges that cats like to have fun too!! The back of the store is home to the biggest (and coolest) leash/collar selection I've ever seen. I actually contemplated adopting a dog that day just so I could buy one of the cool leash and collars. They have tons of pet beds, food/water dishes, little outfits for your dog (mine would totally wear the White Sox shirt)...the list goes on and on. The front of the store has a little bakery style display which housed yummy treats...I believe those were just for pups though. If you don't have a 4-legged friend you should still check this place out because they had some really cool items for your home. Remember that toy when you were little that was the bald mans face, and you created a mustache/hair/eyebrows/beard with the magnetic pieces.....well they have plates with that same face so you can create a beard made of corn, broccoli hair...whatever your heart desires. Those would be awesome for a picky/finicky eater. They had an awesome clock that was the wheel from Wheel of Fortune. I could go on and on about all the stuff but I think it would be better if you just checked it out for yourself! read more

Cute things for your pet as well as something for you!Nice selection of grr-met dog cookies(my old girl did not like them:( )Great staff, very friendly and you can bring in your well socialized pets! read more

A great store to stop in and pick up some gifts for your four legged friend, or yourself. They have items for pets as well as people. We get some of our dogs food here. It's a nice shop, though unlike a couple other doggie stores in OP I don't feel like they are interested in getting to know their customers. It just depends whether that is important to you or not. Overall, a good place to stop in. Also visit their dog-friendly sister store around the corner (Pumpkin Moon), for silly doodads. read more

This store is cute. Its mostly dedicated to pets. They have some cute little trinkets to get as gifts. The staff is friendly and always helpful. When I'm in the area this is the store I always stop in to. read more

This store is awesome! They have all kinds of neat stuff for people and pets. They have the cutest colors for all dog sizes. It's cute and trendy with tons of personality. My only complaint is that I spend too much money here. read more

Love this store! They have lovely things for people as well as for dogs. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The also carry Esme leather goods which keeps me coming back to look. The dog accessories and toys are quality and reasonable when compared to the overpriced junk at Petco and Petsmart. I wish they carried more chewy things for little dogs. read more

Oh, this place is really so cute. I love their selection. I just can't justify some of the prices, so they get 3 stars for that. But 4 stars for selection and 5 stars for being a great place that caters to animal lovers and their companions. So, 4 stars seems like a fair total. I can't shop there often, but I have always found something on the rare occasion I find myself in there. I'm willing to pay more under the guise of "gift shopping," so this is when I often find myself at places like this. read more

I go in here pretty frequently and I love seeing everything they carry. As a cat and dog owner, I spend a lot of time checking out their pet-related goods. They carry some awesome stuff you can't find at Petco or Pet Smart and my pets love the gifts they get! The quality of pet toys they carry is really high and I love getting toys here as gifts for other pet people I know; the section they have for maintenance care (shampoos, nail clippers, poop bags, etc.) is also quite nice. When I've asked for help getting an item the staff has been spot on in their recommendations. If you're not into pets, good news! The store also has lots of neat gadgets that make perfect small gifts for people I have a hard time buying gifts for. Totally worth stopping in, checking out the wares, and saying hi to the friendly staff. read more

Got to LOVE this place! I take my cats here all the time. Yes my cats. They love all the fluffy beds and cat nip. The staff is so sweet and always light up when we come by. I've bought so much stuff here over the years! Also, they sell some of my cat's favorite toys that I can't find at any other pet shop. Return customer for sure! read more

A cute little store in Downtown Oak Park. Has stuff for your pet and yourself. Nice and clean in there, not too overpriced. The staff are always friendly. (Same owners as Pumpkin Moon nearby) A fun place to stop in when your having fun in Oak Park. read more

I think this store is super cute and it has a great selection of cute and silly pet accessories as well as people stuff. The only negative I see is some items can be a little pricey but it is a small price to pay for local stuff at a local business. Employees are always super happy and friendly. Proud to have them in my town! read more

This is a great little boutique, run by a really cool couple who know fun stuff when they see it (evidence: their other Oak Park store, Pumpkin Moon). Scratch n Sniff has a nice variety of distinctive pet accessories, and neat stuff for people too. Best of all, the owners are strong supporters of animal rescue. read more

OMG Scratch 'N Sniff is one of the cutest places to shop at in Oak Park, IL. This store offers a very unique selection of pet clothes and accessories. But don't let the name fool you though, you do not need to own a pet to find awesome items for yourself or for gift ideas here. Seriously when ever a birthday comes up I always go here first because they have items that you can't find at the typical store or mall. They have unique jewelry, fun purses, and home decorative items. Scratch 'N Sniff deserves these 5 stars because this is by far the only store that I can say that I would buy everything in their store if I had the money, this store is that Great! read more

Um, so cute. While exploring the new 'hood, I came across Scratch 'N Sniff, a pet store that also sells handbags and jewelry. Wierd at first, but kind of clever I must say. I browsed a bit, and found a trendy new placemat for my kitty's food bowls because every cat needs to dine in style! I woud probably shop here more if I had a dog. Overall, very cute! read more

The gals that run/own this store are simply amazing as is their store and its contents. There is so much good karma here. I shop here regularly with my dog, Lloyd, and I will continue to do so. Great shop! read more

Very, very friendly service - and a great selection of items and treats, with very reasonable prices. And they always remember my dog's name, and give him a treat! They also have a great selection of trendy gifts - from Anne Tainter bags, to quirky gadgets. Cannot wait to take my nieces and nephews here. read more

Such a fun store! You don't even need a pet to enjoy the cool things they have. Definitely a place worth checking out.

Ok. Cute..yeah. Toys for cats and dogs you don't find anywhere else. Doggie cookies, gourmet pet food and lots of esoteric items for people who have money to spend on various chatzkas. Artisan made jewelry, handbags, and all matter of bling. Don't miss their Christmas ornaments for sale. As for me, I'm a victim of the recession, my cat plays toys I make from old socks. read more

Looks like a over price $ store items all cramed up in shelve. Sales girl look like she was totally bored and certainly did not want to be bothered by customers. Man behind the counter was watching young kid in the store like he was going to snatch his register when he was just looking at the trinkets. What a waste of crap. read more

This place is just as cool as Pumpkin Moon around the corner (and owned by the same people). Stop in... you won't be sorry and your critters will love you! read more
