This was a really cool place that I stumbled upon and had a wide variety of vintage antiques as well as some modern pieces. Would recommend!

Truly a magical place full of treasures…read more The Economy Shop is a huge old house that's been converted into a charity shop that's open typically two Saturday's and a Thursday each month (you can check out their website for their shopping dates and hours). I'd recommend getting there early as parking fills up quick! I think they do take cards, but it is much easier to pay with cash here. This is a great place to go wandering through as the rooms are chock full of odds and ends, and there are many rooms to wander through. I've found all kinds of things here, from aprons to baskets to rugs to furniture to art to random knickknacks. Prices are pretty low, and you can often find really good quality or designer items that have been well-maintained more often than you would at other thrift shops. Come here if you love the thrift store experience and want to find treasures. Maybe don't come here if you're looking to quickly find specific items. This is one of my favorite places to spend a morning, and it might become yours too!

The Economy Shop is literally a Victorian style house with every room crammed with secondhand goods and antiques. They're only open 3-4 days a month from 9am-3pm, so you need to plan your visit. When you enter, you're handed a paper sheet that is divided into different categories of merchandise. When you go to each room, they total up whatever you want to buy from that given room. When you're completely done shopping, you pay at the far back of the house and exit. Prices are fair and you can find some great stuff here. The basement was one area that was overwhelming. Almost too much to look at and fully absorb. Tips for first time visitors: 1. Bring reusable bags or a tote bag. They will give you bags but a good sturdy bag will work to your advantage. 2. Parking is tricky. You're fine on residential streets but if you park along the train tracks, you have to feed a meter. $2.00 per hour. Card payment only. 3. Leave small kids at home. The rooms and hallways are too packed and tight to reasonably manage kids in tow. I like this place! I will be back!

Absolutely HORRIBLE experience. I went to their storefront a couple years ago and everything was…read moreextremely expensive but this past weekend I went to an estate sale. On Friday I asked about some items and just for a pottery bowl they wanted $65. I asked about some artwork it was $500 for 2. That same artwork did not sell over the entire weekend. I saw one worker being a bit rude to another worker which isn't ok in front of people but I assumed it was stress. Then they posted a video in a beautiful MCM living room saying "the house is jam packed" and "bring a semi." I went a bit early since it was confusing "11-1" for the sale but "9-1" online. I saw people asked questions but no comments back until right before the time. They were giving 9-11am the last chance for people to buy "lower than retail" probably since so much was so expensive for an estate sale and even after 3 days they still didn't want to even try going down. They tried to sell a Frank Lloyd wright PRINT (not an original at allll) for $300. They tried to sell a woman a nightgown dress from like JC Penny for $30!!! But thankfully they said they could for $25 just for today (before the $25 deal at 11). After MULTIPLE people expressed their frustration and anger with the misleading marketing they created a generic response in person AND online, I decided to express my disappointment and let others know there wasn't actually anything they advertised. I was highly respectful regarding providing feedback and how to provide better customer experience so people can avoid driving 2-3 hours for some binders and scraps (which yes some people can score but none of what was left was worth a 2 hour drive since you could find it closer to your home probably). When I commented, I noticed someone else was mentioning they are deleting comments regarding feedback. I since then started to screenshot my comments to ensure I had proof of what they were and weren't saying. I mentioned how they were moving furniture out and they commented back they were deliveries from "the couple that purchased them" but I was talking about artwork that I was eyeing on the first day but it barely went down in price.... And they were taking it to their store front which they said out loud too! So it's not like they sold everything. Then I quickly found out from someone else that they blocked me. I didn't get photos of all my comments but needless to say I won't be supporting them. They only care about numbers and marketing even if it's at the expense of customers. Is that a company you really was to support when there are other people that yes they need to make a living but haven't lost their humanity for people? Unless you are willing to overpay a company that is has a lot of false advertising then I wouldn't support them. Hopefully they won't remove this comment. It's sad to see them doubling down and instead of correcting themselves or expressing that their sorry.... they delete and continue to do what their doing.
