Visited this establishment for a family breakfast. The food was delicious and the staff was attentive. Pretty typical yummy breakfast spot!

I've tried almost all chicken fried steak in Bakersfield and my favorite actually had always been Cope's Knotty Pine & Black Bear Diner and to me, nobody makes better chicken fried steak than those 2 places..a few come close but never the same..n bigger size doesn't make it taste better.. but this place.. yesssss, they make bomb chicken fried steak! Crunchy on the outside, tender n savory steak in the inside & doesn't taste like old oil! Fast service, very friendly people n the price is pretty decent too! N if u like lemonade, u gotta try their cucumber lemonade!! Their chilaquiles is also really good..I got the chilaquiles Mexicano which is made with their house salsa.. yuuummm!! N the tortillas were still crispy when u get it.. clean, decent size space! read more

Very nice dining experience. We were in town for business, so I picked this restaurant to have brunch (the pics on Yelp looked delicious). The place was packed, but it was a short wait to be seated. The staff was very attentive, and the food didn't let me down. The country fried steak, biscuits and gravy, and the country potatoes were the best I've ever had. Seasoned to perfection and generous with their portions. When I'm in the area again, this will be my go-to breakfast/ brunch spot. read more

This was our first visit, and definitely worth it! Such a great ambiance inside. Decorated beautifully and welcoming! The service was fantastic as well! Our server, Aylenne, was amazing. Funny, personable, on top of Tea and coffee refills. Just and over all delight! And the food was absolutely delicious! If you're a biscuits and gravy fan, they've got a wonderful one! We were greeted immediately as we walked in.. asked for a booth and we got it. Our waiter Arturo was very friendly and attentive. Breakfast was great, generous 3 eggs and sides... Black Friday was 50% off huevos rancheros with chile verde. However, we ordered a different breakfast . It was my husbands birthday and Arturo was so genuine that he even gave him a big hug. We felt humbled by this young man. We will return and try their lunch menu. read more

Wow, what a nice find. Saturday morning at 8:30 and the place was already hopping but a few tables still open. The two of us were seated right away and drinks came out quickly. Very friendly service even though it was obvious that they were a bit understaffed until another waitress showed up around 8:45. Getting our food order in took a bit but not a big deal. They were very quick to refill our water or coffee as other yelpers have mentioned. The food: the best chili verde I have ever had-and I have had dozens-maybe even better than my own homemade scratch version. I got the chili verde scramble which was over potatoes which the cook painstakingly took out every one of the bell peppers for me! The chili verde was not short on wonderfully tender non fatty meat, very flavorful and just enough spice for me--I would call it "medium" which is how I like it--just a little bit of a head sweat! In addition to the eggs and chili verde, the scramble had a nice amount of Jack cheese. Nice big portion. My wife got the veggie omelet, enjoyed it and when the bill came we were happy to see no extra charge for egg whites and cottage cheese instead of potatoes which sometimes significantly jacks up the price of her omelet. Wonderful breakfast--we will be back and are spreading the word. read more

The pancakes are awesome with the syrup. Definitely use your syrup. The service is awesome. For kids it includes two refills for beverages. The restaurant was great they have a tv playing family friendly shows on the tv. They even have toothpicks at the exit. read more

There is some really good things to share with you and unfortunately, quite a bit of bad. Starting with an awkward arrival process, service went downhill fast and stayed at there - earning a 10% tip. Upon arrival, the hostess seemed flustered and instead of leading us to our table, she pointed where to go and said she would be there to bring "um, uh, umm" and I completed the sentence with - MENUS. "Yes, menus". They were brought promptly. Putting a drink order in......well, that wasn't so prompt. We both ordered iced tea, one regular and one raspberry. They were served to us reversed. Both of us got a surprise drink before swapping glasses. From time of order to food delivery time was good and eggs were nice, hot and freshly cooked. Once the food was dropped off, we would never see our server again. There would be no checking to see if we need anything or ask how the food tasted so far. We had to flag down another server for refills and to ask for butter. A third person handled the transaction with her iPad. She was walking by and noticed us sitting there with empty plates and glasses. Very disappointing service - start to finish. The Food: The chili verde omelette was fantastic and better than some of our other breakfast faves. The fruit was also very fresh. The chicken fried steak was one that was premade and fried - not dredged and breaded on premise. The hash browns are not made with fresh potatoes grated on premise like most top breakfast spots. These potatoes are rehydrated and fried. In an oddity, I chose a biscuit as my bread choice and that usually includes gravy. This was served as - just a biscuit. No jelly, no butter, no gravy. I was in for breakfast around 7:15AM. Waitress greeted me and sat me as soon as I walked in, so far so good, promptly brought me my coffee and took my order. Then things went downhill. Not many customers, still took over 25 minutes to get my order (omelet). The food was slightly warm as if it sitting around for awhile. While waiting for my food to arrive, I noticed 2 different customers (2 tables)walk in. I thought they were going to be around awhile but their food came out in less then 15 minutes. The hostess sat us down a few minutes after arriving and when we sqt down, it took our waitress about 8 minutes to come and greet us after she cluelessly walked passed us several times just moments earlier. As we waited, our waitress kept passing by us when she could have asked if we wanted refills on our beverages. Finally, the food came. I ordered the Chile Verde Chilaquiles and they were delicious. So we ate and I still haven't received a refill even after she brought us our food. I didn't even get a chance to ask for one either because she just took off. Anyways, eventually I got a refill and she gave us our checks. We had never been here before, so we tried the standard diner fair and we're very pleased with the speed of which it was served, the quality, the temperature, and the taste. Highly recommend if you are in the area or staying at one of the local hotels, as this was a very good breakfast at a reasonable price. Pulled into parking lot and no cars and my brother said that's funny this place is usually pretty busy. Looked at the building and it said Scrambled, on a canvas sign. Thought well we are here let's give it a shot, I am so happy we did, what a find. The interior was very appealing and super clean. I had the Chili Verde omelette and it was fantastic and the pork was sooo tender. Others ordered Belgium waffles one with bananas, one with peanut butter and one eggs and pancakes.
