The Boston Skillet is to die for, it's full of seafood, everything I've had there was fresh and served with a smile.

The Scrambled Diner may look like a nothing-special-just-one-of-those eateries, but I was pleasantly surprised. We are staying in the area for a few days. Went here for breakfast before going to Chicago. My companion ordered the Banana Foster pancakes. He was initially thinking "ham and cheese omelette," which sounded pretty healthy and changed his mind last minute to the pancakes; they filled him up for the majority of the day! Coffee is nothing to write home about. It's typical deli coffee they'll pour endlessly into your cup. Not my cuppa coffee, but I'm a strong coffee lover so this doesn't excite me. My companion had 2 refills and said he had better and worse: well-balances remark. I ordered 2 eggs with hash browns, turkey sausage, toast and apple butter. The apple butter was gone in under a minute: super delicious. Give me apple butter any day of the week. Good eggs, fried exactly the way I like. Also tasty hash browns; believe it or not, not every restaurant gets that right. The turkey sausage was as dry as a bone; to me completely inedible. I tried the banana foster pancakes. Even my companion who has a bit of a sweet tooth, thought it was too sweet. 3 pancakes swimming in a puddle of -what appeared to be- syrup. On the side whipped cream, more syrup and butter. Seriously? It was way too sweet. It was "have some pancake with your syrup." It's a shame because it could've been quite nice if it would've been more balanced. Other than that: service is friendly. I did notice how clean the place is, portions -as is often the case in the USA- are too big. Very clean, tables are meticulously cleaned and that's not always the case in a restaurant, so "job well done on that part." It's a busy place which is always a good sign and there seems to be a lot of locals frequenting the place. read more

So much to say about this place. Its small diner but worth the wait in line if you have to. The food is adventurous and phenomenal. Great selection of breakfast and lunch items. I had a 3 egg inlet which was excellent. Portions are substantial- enough that I could skip lunch for the day. I did notice that their lunch menu featured a Cuban Sandwich. As a fan of the Cuban, I definitely want to check that out. The servers (who seemed to be high school girls) were efficient and kept us well cared for. Our waitress didn't even write down our order, but kept it all in her head. The seasonings and grease are just TOO MUCH. I've been going here since they opened a decade ago. Came back after a yearlong absence and really wanted to enjoy myself but I'm throwing in the towel. I want to love it... I appreciate that they have turkey sausage but my god, it's like eating a bowel of salt and sage. The leftovers smell so strong you need a box of baking soda in your fridge. And why do the hash browns come in a puddle of grease? Fix these things and you'll be making a move in the right direction. read more

Looks so cute on the outside so we ventured in. Hostess not welcoming or smiling. Inside is small and not very cozy. Server was nice. Prices are very high for breakfast. I had been to this place a few years ago, and had enjoyed every bit of it...so when my mom and I wanted to go out for brunch recently, this is one of the places I thought of..... We get there around noon on a Sunday and noted there were actually tables available and were told to sit where we wanted. We took one of the few tables left (with Covid 19 they had even fewer tables than before....but you could also sit outside) and got our menus. Both of us decided on the Smokey Forest Skillet as it had ham, mushroom, and Gouda Cheese in it....along with our choice of toast (we chose English Muffin....with our choice of jelly). A short bit later, our skillets came out....wow very tasty. My mom really enjoyed hers as did I....and the best part was the homemade jam for the english muffins was excellent. I will definitely come back here again in the future as the food is really good. From what I hear they get a lot of their ingredients from local stores/farms which is huge in my book. Also, for a small place, they have a good sized menu, to satisfy the most picky eater. read more

Really amazing food and service. Our waitress was awesome and the food is so unique. Definitely a place I will go again. I really enjoyed the biscuits and gravy (the sauce was not the tradition grey gravy sauce but it was delicious) don't knock it till you try it. Bananas fosters pancakes were heavenly. I love EVERYTHING about this place! The staff is always super friendly and attentive, and the food is out of this world! I've not had a bad meal here, ever. Updated from my review of six months ago. The food is still great as is the service. But in my opinion the portions have gotten a little smaller and the prices are rediculous. I know costs are up but $15.00 for a hamburger is exorbitant, I don't care how good it is. Tried the bananas foster. It's 3 pancakes sitting in a pool of some caramel syrup mushy sauce. I ate the top pancake as it was the only one not soggy. Way too sweet I could barely finish one pancake without having a sugar rush. Presentation of the dish looked unappealing. Service was good. Ok You will love the shrimp dishes and the specials that are not list onthe menu. I suggest you try one of those and the quality of food is not processed or frozen. The food is fresh and the sausage is like hand pressed. The diavolo dish was so spicy and I had mad live for the hotness. It will open your sinuses and I love hot dishes. They will cater to your tastebuds but u will enjoy all the omelettes and skillets. Go for lunch if you do not want breakfast. The resturant is small in size not good for large groups. The food here is so great. Everything is packed full of flavor and delicious. We were a table of three, and made sure to get several dishes to try mix of everything, including their huge delicious cinnamon roll! One in my party was craving a mimosa with brunch, and they do not have any alcohol, which i don't mind, and does not take away from my review rating at all- just a heads up to anyone looking for that with brunch! It is a smaller area, but it has a really nice, small outdoor area that really reminded me of the places in Los Angeles. Now, the reason I did not give this a full five star, is service based only. Hands down, THE BEST breakfast...ever. Every Single time is amazing. I really don't want to tell you how absolutely delicious this place is ...because it's already hard to get in! LOL. But they do get you through fast...but it's not "fast food".
