Picked a breakfast spot after our workout at the Y and we were greeted and seated quickly. Nice big menu with a number of skillets all well priced. I ordered the Popeye's Skillet and Hubby the Irish Skillet. They were beautiful and the taste lived up to the presentation. So delicious, fresh, and generous. We feel an exceptional value when we have enough for doggy bag to feed us (forget the dog!) the next day too, particularly when it tastes as good as the day set in front of us. We have been wanting to go here for months and finally had the time to do so! It is a very quaint, family owned business and it had a nice atmosphere. I really enjoyed the Honey Bee Special skillet and thought it was so delicious! Also having 4 eggs in the skillet made it easier to have the perfect skillet-to-egg bite ratio. The side pancakes were yummy too! We had a good time and appreciated coming here. We didn't realize that we had to pay by going up to the cashier as we noticed our waitress didn't come back with the check. We have noted this for next time as we really like this place! read more

I'll start of by saying the server and staff were very friendly. My Denver omelette was very good stuffed full of goodness. Hash browns were a bit undercooked and bland. My hot chocolate was wonderful and well needed on a cold morning. I wasn't a fan of the lack of decor but happy to see they seem to have an ok business. I wish them luck! Embarked on a debut at the Honeybee Pancake House in St. John today. The ambiance, reminiscent of an arctic expedition base with its cold whites and grays, made me wonder if I had stumbled upon a pancake haven or a polar research station. Kudos to the bright white lights for turning up the chill factor. Service soared like a diligent worker bee--no qualms there. Alas, the hashbrowns played a minor chord in the symphony of flavors. In the gastronomic arena, when facing off with the likes of Avgo, one must wield a spatula with finesse. The hashbrowns, however, seemed more like an afterthought than a culinary masterpiece. Considering the formidable contenders in the dining landscape, the Honeybee might need a sprinkle of culinary pixie dust to beckon me back. Options elsewhere seem to sing a more harmonious tune. To return or not to return, that is the brunch-time conundrum. read more

From the minute we stepped in the place, the attentive customer service was apparent. The breakfast items we enjoyed were Avocado Toast (the BEST) and Challah bread French Toast served with warm syrup. We were seated right a way. We were asleep immediately if we wanted something to drink. They have a large and welcoming menu. The waitress's all work together as a team. We placed our orders and they came out of the kitchen in a timely manner. The portions were very large and they were perfectly made to order. The waitress asked us if everything was okay in a very timely manner, around five (5) minutes!!! The food was delicious. We thought the ambiance was very nice. A lot of the menu items sounded really good. I tried the crows nest Benedict (corn beef hash Benedict). I'm fairly certain it was canned corn beef hash you can buy at a grocery store. Wasn't that great. My kids had a waffle, which I tried and was also lacking flavor. The place is pretty small inside, and they have a small outdoor patio. Service was good, but that didn't make up for the food. With places like Avgo and toast and jam nearby, this won't be a spot we return to. read more

Coffee was great too in her opinion. I ordered 2 scrambled eggs, hash browns and of course had to try the side of pancakes, since this is a pancake house. Eggs were cooked well, but lacked flavor. Hash browns were crispy and tender, just how they should be. The pancakes were light and fluffy, really good. The decor was very clean and neutral, but lacked warmth.
