    Mangold Ford

I went to look at a 2000 Dodge Durango at Mangold Ford (as I needed a vehicle to pull trailers & a…read moreRV). After getting there, it was obvious it wasn't what I needed. Instead of leaving, I actually sat down with Donny (I was tired of trying to find a dealership with a SUV that I needed) as he seemed pleasant enough & we went over what they had in inventory (as I was looking for an inexpensive solution that didn't involve payments - not a vehicle that cost more). I also was not looking at a Ford, at first (lots of 5.43v horror stories out there). But, I was then shown a 13 Ford Lariat (with the 3.5 Eco-boost dual turbo engine), & I was pleasantly surprised by it's power. I then looked further up in price, and for around $24,000 - I found a 2015 Ford Expedition Platinum EL with 109,000 miles. I took it for a test drive, & was astounded by how nice it was (it had the Eco-boost & could pull 9,200 lbs & was setup for towing). I had driven there in my 2019 Jeep Cherokee with 94,000 miles (which I had bought last year & was paying a monthly payment on). I needed the Ford MUCH MORE for towing my 2021 Gulfstream 4,900 lb RV, unfortunately - it was Tuesday & the dealership had already closed for the day - so I had to come back the next day. I took the time that night to research the 2015 Ford Expedition Platinum EL, & quickly learned that unlike other SUV's/Trucks (such as GM or RAM)... the 2015-2017 Expedition is the holy grail of towing SUV's/Trucks - as the drivetrain is rock solid (with no reported long term issues with either the 3.5 Eco-boost or the transmission) plus the independent rear end making it a real smooth drive. Also, the price was 1/3 of a brand new Expedition & yet, this 2015 Expedition looked almost brand new & was not rusty - anywhere (it was obviously a central IL used vehicle). I sent my personal details/financials to them the following morning (to start the purchase process), & by the time I arrived - I had already been approved to buy the Expedition (we just needed to agree on the trade-in price for my Jeep). After about 15 minutes (after I arrived), we had agreed on the deal. The paperwork took only a little over an hour after that. No hi pressure. No 4 square tactics. When I went to talk to Steve in Finance, no weird numbers popping up (& no fees that should not be there). I actually asked regarding an extended warranty (& showed him I intended to get a 24,000 mile Ford warranty online for $2,700). I was offered a 5 year/70k premium extended warranty for $4,200. All in (including paying off my previous loan that exceeded my trade-in value), I left the dealership at around $32,000 all in. I am paying only $140 more per month now with this Expedition than I was with my Jeep. In 2015, this Expedition sold for $71,000 & had every option available (& the same configuration for a 2023 Expedition costs almost $90,000). So, this is a Dave Ramsey economics 101 success story. I will say this, Mangold Ford is one of the last TRUE family owned straight shooting dealerships left out there. Their Christian based principles are very evident & they treated me with respect & dignity. I can't say the same about dealerships such as "Kunes Country" who claim to be Christian based - but are one of the worst dealership experiences one can have. You can be sure, even though they are not close to me (I just moved from Huntley, IL to Streator, IL) - Mangold Ford is my dealership of choice now. They will also now have the honor of working on my 1972 Lincoln Mark IV classic car as a result. The owner personally thanked me for my business. It is my honor to be having a new business relationship with Mangold Ford. They are trustful & are worthy of your business. And given I am former Motor Transport (I am a Disabled USMC Veteran), this is a rare automotive business to find where Honor is still practiced & preached. Semper Fi.

Everyone, without questions cares about every customer who steps in the door. We will return again for our next vehicle. Matter of fact, we did return two dots after picking up out 2019 Enclave to trade our 2015 Silverado on a new 2018 GMC Sierra. Great place to go to purchase and/or get your vehicle serviced! They are second to none!! We will be back!!

*0 stars* if I could.. my God, where do I even start. Do…read morenot be fooled by their guise of morality and upstanding, Godly values- they are selling cars and screwing people over for profit- nothing more. At least from my experience with them, and seemingly a handful of others who have taken to writing a review in an effort to warn others, sadly. I purchased a pre-owned vehicle from them in January 2026, they were condescending and acted the whole time as if buying a $45k+ vehicle was damn near trash because it's ~used~ (2023 Ford Bronco, fairly new...) and I should manage/lower my expectations as far as condition they were selling it to me in that I wanted taken care of (cracks all over the windshield etc.). They would not budge at all on pricing- whatever. I ultimately wanted this particular vehicle over others I'd test driven and ended up making a deal with them which included that the windshield being warrantied for up to 1 year, AND my first oil change for free* (which they are now completely denying as per our sales agreement). Less than *2 days* later I start the car in the morning, and it's making a high-pitched screaming noise so loud it could wake people a town over... I take it in and they are unwilling to do anything for me- tell me I can pay for them to run diagnostics as if I didn't just buy the car less than 48 hours ago from them. I am a woman, (this is worth mentioning because I clearly was too nice, and easily taken advantage of no matter how tough or reasonable I tried to be) so it wasn't until my male employer, who helped me make the deal, came into the dealership and spoke on my behalf that we even got them to look at it for free. They held it for nearly TWO WEEKS, to return it to me with no fix, completely inconclusive because they could not replicate the noise when their service techs would start it each morning. I was told the sale is finalized, I can trade it in for a CREDIT to buy a new Buick or GMC with them HAHAHAH. No thanks. I hoped to never deal with them again, aside from cashing in my free oil change, and having the warrantied windshield replace whenever that became relevant. Today, I call to make an appointment for my oil change, and receive a voicemail back a couple hours later claiming that - per the salesman and manager I worked with on the deal- that there was no such agreement about a free oil change. Are you kidding me?? Both. of. them. looked me dead in the eyes, and my employers whom were with me the whole way along in making this deal, and agreed to the first oil change being free as part of the deal. I was told once again as I'm leaving on the date of the purchase, by James, the salesman, "when it comes to the first oil change just go ahead and call us to schedule it and we will take care of you at that time." If this is how they do business according to their 'values' I am appalled at the application of such, and what that seems to mean to them in practice. I've never been so disappointed in a car buying experience in my life... Their values, as stated directly from their website: Create Customers for Life (NOT SURE HOW THEY RETAIN ANYONE TREATING THEM THIS WAY) Share Lighthouse "love" (LIE TO YOUR CUSTOMERS JUST TO MAKE THE DEAL??) Have integrity (?....SEE ABOVE^) Build open and honest relationships (^^^) Balance truth and grace (.......^) Forgive (MAKE THIS RIGHT.) Own the problem (OH YES, PLEASE, NOW WOULD BE A PERFECT TIME) Treat everyone with dignity and respect (UNLESS THEY'RE A FEMALE...) Support and hold each other accountable (.......................) Maintain a healthy balance between work, family, community, church (...CLAIMING TO BE 'GOOD CHRISTIANS', UNFORTUNATELY JUST THEIR HOLLOW FACADE TO GAIN YOUR TRUST) I hope this reaches whomever needs to read it in order to fix the utter bs going on over there, and maybe provides them with a better understanding as to how their 'valued' customers are really being treated. What a letdown, something that should be an exciting, fun experience such as working extremely hard- to purchase a new vehicle for oneself becoming an absolute tarnished nightmare - start to finish. I really can't express my disappointment in them, and this whole experience enough... do better.
