We had dinner at Scossa based on friends recommendation . This restaurant did not deceive us at all . First the seated area outside is great, the neighborhood is so calm and charming . The food was amazing , we had the steak tartare and the salmon tartare and both dishes were exquisite . As for the desserts, we had the pêche Melba and tarte tropezienne. My husband enjoyed the pêche Melba and my daughter and I enjoyed every bite of the huge tropezienne. read more

The food here is unreal. I stumbled upon this place because the restaurant I originally wanted to go to was closed (Note! Many French businesses are on holiday in August!), and I'm so pleased that I had lunch here! The server was incredibly kind even though I can barely speak French, and helped me decide on the plat du jour, which was pave de veal aux girolles. It also came with pomme purée. Amazing! The veal was soft and tender, and the mushrooms were drenched in the delicious sauce but still maintained a good bite to them. Scossa also offers several types of fresh fruit juices, of which I tried the grapefruit. Great meal. I ended up staying the afternoon with my book because of the cozy corner table I had outside. Service continued to be attentive and the atmosphere is just unbeatable. Compared to other restaurants in this price range, Scossa is a gem. I will definitely come here again! read more

This is a restaurant with good food at high prices. The restaurant has seen its glory days and is now on the decay. The bathroom is not shabby chique, but just shabby. The food was good. But I had an asian salad that poisoned me. I had to spend the rest of the night on the toilet. When I called them the day after to inform them, their reaction was very unprofessional. They explained to me in the phone that it wasnt their food that made me sick even though I knew I hadn't raten anything else and that the symptoms came quickly after. The straff should have a basic service training and the cook a hygien course. Then if they fix the ord bathroom it would be an acceptable restaurant. I like the porcelaine. read more

Perfectly acceptable fare. I had the salmon and asparagus, hubby had the pepper steak. The salmon had a mirepoix-like sprinkling of a finely-chopped topping with thinly-sliced Marcona almonds. The asparagus was slightly over cooked, but still tasty. Hubby's steak was cooked to perfection. No surprise there, the French know how to cook beef. His potatoes were also excellent. My husband and I found Scossa while walking around looking for a nice place to have dinner while visiting Paris last week. We decided to check out Scossa when the beautiful outdoor seating area and strings of white christmas lights caught our eye from across the Victor Hugo circle. We are so glad we did. The waiter was very friendly, professional, and accommodating of our less than perfect French. The outdoor atmosphere was delightful, and the food was exceptionally delicious. We got a nice bottle of white wine, my husband got a delicious chicken dish and I got the most unreal penne dish. We ended the meal with the most delicious creme brûlée we've ever tasted. My wife & I were walking around looking for a place to eat and Scossa really spoke to us. The windows were open on the deck and it was a beautiful late Summer day. We started out with a round of drinks before we moved onto dinner. We shared the Thai Shrimp and a hamburger and they were both delicious. The shrimp was the best we have had in a long time and the hamburger was amazing. The waiter was great and spoke excellent English. We are so glad we stopped here. read more

I have to say, we had a very lovely lunch here and service was great. I had a starter of escargot, which was the best I had in Paris on my most recent trip. For a main, I had the daily special - veal with mushrooms and potatoes which was delicious. Tasted like nice home French cooking. My husband had a chicken ceasar salad which he also enjoyed. For dessert, my husband ordered the creme brulee which he thoroughly enjoyed. Yesterday, got the "supreme de volaille" which meat was juicy and skin was crispy with rice for lunch. Rice wasn't good, then again I'm Asian so I can get really picky when it comes to eating rice. The sauce wasn't overwhelming and if it weren't for the rice, I'd almost add a star. As per the service, my opinion is relatively mixed-matched, good welcome bad at-the-table service. I find it a little pricy for lunch, around 35€ per person for a main course and a cafe gourmand. This said, it's a sure bet for business luncheon, you can't go wrong. We dinner for 2 here in this neighborhood restaurant on our last night in Paris. Wished we had discovered it sooner. Here's how our experience breaks down: Food: 5 stars Each dish we ordered was a nice combination of simple ingredients, perfectly prepared in a way that highlighted the fresh ingredients. I guess I'd say the food was elegant in a simple way. Service: 5 stars Our server was so exceptional and professional. He seemed to constantly check to see if we needed our wine glasses refilled or were done with a course, but in a very unobtrusive way so it never felt like it was too formal. We didn't experience that type of service in many of the other restaurants we went to in our 3 week trip. Atmosphere: 5 stars The restaurant faces Victor Hugo plaza and manages to be casual but elegant at the same time. We were seated in the main part of the restaurant but at the edge under a glass roof that felt like a beautiful covered patio with lots of greenery and soft lighting. Our round table was very small, a bit too small for 2 people I'd say, but it didn't negatively impact our meal at all. Overall, this was one of the best meals we had in Paris. read more

Happened upon this place as husband and I were just wandering around. We were relieved to discover that they had an English version of the menu (after spending a good amount of time scratching our heads over the French version). I ordered their Thai style prawns with asparagus and chopped bean sprouts with black truffles (?), I also ordered a side of green beans (I'm trying to get more vegetables in to offset all those yummy baguettes and pastries I've been indulging in). My wife and I were strolling the streets looking for a place to enjoy out last evening in Paris and had passed this place 2x before and my wife had commented that she loved their metal and glass outdoor seating area which was always busy with customers smoking and drinking. We were greeted by a waiter named, Jason, who seated us at a lovely private table inside which we requested. He was charming and made suggestions based on our taste. The food was wonderful and a bit more expensive than we had in most of Paris. But had decided to splurge as it was our last night there. We shared their XXL escargo ( the largest we had seen and delicious too) and a Chicken Ceasar salad, which was the best I had ever had anywhere, the Chicken that topped the salad was so sweet, that my wife said, it was probable a young chicken because it was so tender too. Fantastico! We also shared their Pepper Steak, done medium rare! They were so kind to have split the dish into two beautiful plates, and the steak was very tender and the sauce was perfect. Note their bread was to die for also. Go there and ask for Jason he loves working there because of the food they serve. Came here for lunch with a friend (she choose the place) and was pleasantly surprised. I'd heard that Scossa was overpriced and snobby but that's not what I experienced. The service was nice enough and the food (I had the smoked salmon caesar salad) was tasty. The decor is a little weird but at least the restaurant is spacious. The food is indeed expensive... a little too pricey really. Had it not been for the price I would have given Scossa a fourth star. read more
