    Sometimes, the best discoveries are the ones that happen unexpectedly, and that's exactly what happened when we stumbled upon Verse Toujours. Being right next to the self-laundry service, this hidden gem turned out to be a delightful surprise that left us utterly thrilled. After the entire day spent on feet, I honestly could've stayed there forever. The drink menu they offer is quite standard but very generous, given its location. I highly recommend this place.

    I used to visit this place all the time 10 years ago and back then it was good. Back then I used to order the œuf en murettes and onion soup. The food was very French and it appeared the chefs actually cooked the food. I went there today and it was the worst meal I have ever had in Paris. I was so excited that I brought someone with me and I'll have to say I was quite embarrassed. Not sure how they still have customers. I believe the reviews on trip advisors and Instagram must be their friends. All the food appears to be store bought, heated in a microwave and then garnished at the end. I ordered the gnocchi with truffle and morel. If you look closely at the picture you can tell it to was microwaved. The food came out in less than 3 minutes after ordering it. Also ordered the brioche perdu and the whipped cream was out of a can, something I have never witnessed in Paris. Very sad.

    I enjoyed a delicious dinner at Verse Toujours. I ordered the Panier (can't remember the name), and it was full of fresh fruits and vegetables. I loved the artichokes, the tomatoes and mozzarella and the eggs with mayonnaise. The cantaloupe was perfectly ripe, and matched well with the rest of the salad. I loved the flavor combinations, and would definitely order this again. I was craving dessert the night I was there, and ordered the chocolate lava cake. It was soooo good! Verse Toujours was packed with locals, and people who are obviously big fans. I would highly recommend checking out Verse Toujours when in the area!

    Steak frites with salade. Dijon and American ketchup available in small jars. Excellent condiment for this.

    I am from the land of "everything closes at 9 PM" and while in Paris, I knew that I could find a late-night eatery to satisfy my French curiosities. I was staying in an AirBnB on Port Royal and at 12:30 AM (or 24:30), the place had to be within walking distance. With the help of Google Maps, Yelp and some Euros burning a hole in my pocket, I found Verse Toujours. I had to wait for a table. as it was crowded, even though they were to close at 2 AM. As a solo diner, I was never made to feel as if I were a burden or that my service was lacking. I got excellent service, even though they were closing down, albeit a slow-going breakdown of the restaurant. I got steak frites, a kir royale to drink and the famed Nutella Tiramisu. My plate was beaitiful, fresh and I couldn't have asked for anything better. The tiramisu was EXCELLENT. It was huge and should and could be shared by 2 or more people. I ate the entire thing and had absolutely no regrets. I did, however, think it was a little expensive at 7 euros, but it was worth it. I will seek this little face out again when I visit Paris in the future. That tiramisu paired with a bright, bubbly kir royale was a dream.

    Our meal was very good. We arrived tired after a day in the Louvre. Took the metro to the les Gobelins station. The service was quite exceptional and the food was delicious. Best meal so far of our France trip. Highly recommend. Yeet.

    We went for lunch today. Location near the busy traffic street not perfect. However tables are always crammed and the reason soon became clear: food is really good. We were looking around at the other tables to find a tip on what to choose. I saw the fries and went for the burger. My wife saw a beautiful salmon salad and went for that. With a bottle of chardonnay we paid 39€. The burger wad perfect and the salad delicious. The fries were awesome: thin and crunchy. Maybe I found out why we call them french fries :) At the end we had great food and service was quick and kind. The place is right near a topical point of the Latin Quarter, you may want to end up here after the long walk like we did.

    This was our first meal in Paris after flying in from London. It was a little intimidating but the waitress there spoke English with us right away (hello yoga pants and black north face--what screams American tourist more than that? Ha) and she was really nice. My sister ordered range beef tartare and I ordered the steak and fries. What's new? The steak and fries were average. The fries were amazing (as they always are in Paris) but the steak was tough. I had asked for medium rare and the steak came out medium well. The beef tartare was tasty, but I've had better. This place wasn't great but it wasn't bad either. This is a good place to people watch. Wish I had more time to people watch but food is life.

    Disclaimer: tourist from Seattle This is my third time to Paris and first time staying in the Latin quarter, so for our first dinner here, we just winged it and trusted yelp. It looks like a normal French bistro, busy and lively, although we were kind of tucked away in the back (which was okay since my girlfriends and I were tired from traveling). We started off with the duck foie and it was goood. I don't understand why we can't have it like this in the states!! If I were to rate my dish, the magret de canard, it would be five stars!! What a surprise to have one of my best duck meals on a random restaurant pick. However it came with some weird vegetable lasagna thing that I was just not interested in eating. My friends got steak and frites and a duck burger and they said they were good, but I think my entree was the best. For some reason I always want to try Nutella tiramisu, and it was highly recommended on yelp here, but I think after this time, I'm just going to opt to only get original tiramisu and only if it looks amazing. This Nutella tiramisu is better than other ones I've had but it wasn't amazing or fantastic. I'd rather save the calories for Berthillon ice cream or Pierre Herme macarons! And they actually carry Berthillon glacé, so we were in luck and ordered a sundae of vanilla and salted caramel ice cream. :)

    The service here was very good, the waiter was nice, attentive and even joked around with us in a non offensive way. The wines here are priced well and the desserts are okay. All in all it was a good experience. Oh, and they have a menu in English (with the same prices as the French menu). Edit: we came back the next day during the daylight hours and had more food and dessert and just hung out for a couple hours. The desert was called Ile de Brehat and was made with fresh caramel and Berthillon ice cream. It was AMAZING!! Plus one more star.

    Sat on patio and had a lovely early dinner while people watching. Service is friendly, he gave good wine suggestions. Portions are generous, so glad we didn't order an appetizer that we were considering. The beef tartare was great- came with sauces on side if you need to customize the taste further. My husband got the sea bass and that was delicious. Good neighbourhood place- seemed to be quite a few locals.

    On our first day in Paris, after a very long flight, my husband and I were jet lagged and starving. We walked a few minutes from our place and saw that this place looked busy which seemed like a good sign. We were right as many locals were there for a coffee, glass of wine or meal. Staff were very nice and efficient. Glad we chose this place for our first meal in Paris. Definitely helped kick off our holiday on the right note.

    Very good service and great food. The duck is delicious. Other than that, between 10 - 20 Euro not too expensive for Paris. Good job!

We even came back on our last night, but didn't realize the hours on Google maps was for the deli. The restaurant closes earlier, before 9:00 PM. My friend's duck breast was pretty tough; I had noticed the table next to us also ordered it and they seemed to have trouble finishing/cutting theirs as well. As for my steak with foie gras, well the steak was once again tough and the foie gras was weirdly stringy. It was soft for the most part but there were parts that were tough and stringy. Maybe that's a section that's generally separated in the preparation process and it was missed? In any case it was disappointing. What wasn't disappointing was dessert though; perfectly sweet and balanced.

I mean, all she had to do was borrow a cookbook, which I'm sure were readily available from maybe a neighbor or in any local bookstore or the public library. How hard is that? I was the only kid who brought a can of tuna and his own monogrammed can opener to school every day. Every day. And mom convinced me that the tuna holster she got me for my birthday was cool and hip. I was a naive mercury-filled fool, although I did become a very fast runner in junior high school because of the tuna holster. I love the way they plate it too. Delicious. And a bottle of Cabernet Franc from Bourgueil (Loire Valley). The second visit (3 star) was very different from the first visit. Less friendly, borderline rude, took a long while for table service even though it was not busy, rolled their eyes about us sharing and at our wine bottle selection. We didn't feel welcomed. Food remains good, but not outstanding. Roll of the dice on service. I'd say if you're in the area and you don't have to wait it'd be worthwhile, otherwise seek a less touristy spot.
