I'm not sure why they couldn't stop at the store and pick some up but that's what we were told. We happen to have teabags with us so we asked for hot water. We ordered over medium eggs and received over hard eggs. My toast was burned. (You only get one slice of toast). I scraped my toast onto a paper towel so that she could see it was burnt. She asked how everything was I told her the eggs were over hard and that the toast was burned. She didn't offer a replacement. She asked if there was anything else we needed at that time that we said no. The ham was decent. I did not care for the mashed tater tot hashbrowns.. It was just basically greasy fryer food. The taste of the fryer grease took over the taste of what the potato should taste like so we did not eat them. I wanted so bad to like the breakfast there. The waitress was nice enough, but she did not offer a replacement for the food or even an apology for the way the food was cooked. We will not be going back thankfully there are other breakfast establishments close to that area that offer really good breakfast at a more affordable price. I guess I really can't complain too much about the price because eating out is expensive everywhere and I wouldn't have minded paying the price if the food was better. Overall, it was a really big disappointment.

When I first moved to Ambridge a close friend and I were walking around town, and they were really…read moresad to see that Orbitt Inn had closed, so a couple years later, I was very surprised when it popped up on a google search and said it was open. I had to stop in and see for myself. What I found was a fun little spot with BIG vintage charm and a great small town vibe. Everyone was so friendly and the chef recommended the cheesesteak. *cue eyeroll* I used to work at a Philly style cheesesteak restaurant in Richmond,VA that made cheesesteaks that rivaled any I've ever had--even in Philadelphia. Since moving back, if I wanted a cheesesteak, I had to make it myself. So, I shared my cheesesteakismology with the chef, and was honest that I probably would judge it pretty hard. You just cannot get a Philly in the Pittsburgh area. Everyone here serves a ....steak hoagie. I don't want your steak-ums with your provolone cheese or lettuce or tomatoes and onion. I do want peppers, onions and American cheese all mixed up into gooey greasy mess and served on a fresh hoagie roll. Plot twist~He held his stance and was 100% confident that he, in fact, does make the best Philly in town and assured me that he actually uses American too--to which I smugly replied "but do you mix it in?"-- and much to my surprise he did. Still having doubts that I would recieve a cheesesteak that would meet my expectations, I figured the least I could atleast give it a shot, duh. So I placed my order and waited.... 1099 % surpassed my expectations!! This cheesesteak sent me into a dreamlike state. Nostalgia washed over me and the heavens opened up, sending me into cheesy steaky bliss! Amazingly delicious cheesesteak! Honestly, the best I've ever had in Pennsylvania, and I have tried a lot of em'. If you haven't been back since they reopened or maybe you've never been there before in your life, I want to tell you, don't walk--RUN--to Orbit Inn and treat yourself to a tasty, juicy treat! I'll definitely be frequenting this establishment and so happy I don't have to scrub cheese from my frying pan anymore for the sake of a great Philly! For that I will be forever grateful. Thank you for the superb dining experience!

Service: Been there twice and the waitstaff was very attentive and polite both times, no complaints. Haven't sat at the bar but it looks inviting. Food: Wasn't bad but wasn't exceptional. The menu has a lot of great offerings but nothing I have tried was on par with say, other German inspired establishments in the area. Both times the food was sort of cold as well. I think with some tweaks and tuning it'll be better than other places in the area. My only other complaints were that the seating, although rustic, is rickety and uncomfortable. They were playing TOP 40 country music which was also sort of weird for how the place looks inside. I am pretty easy to please and feel the place has a ton of potential, with the right improvements and some marketing they will be extremely busy as it's probably one of the most unique eating establishments in the area.
