There is nothing like a group of New Yorkers who suddenly get the urge for some pizza, no matter…read morewhere you are. We were in Jasper just strolling the streets when the urge came for some lunch. It had to be pizza. I remembered seeing this shop on a video I watched about Jasper just prior to coming here. It was easy to find and we grabbed a table outside. A beautiful day and view. We went inside and ordered a couple of pies. Based on the amount of tickets that were on the line and there was just one pizza maker, we thought this might take a while. They had a lot of people both eating in and taking out. This is one busy place. There was one chef and one person delivering and wrapping orders. Together they made a good-efficient pair. It's easy... pick the size pizza you want, select the toppings and you wait. After a short wait the pizzas were delivered and we had a chance to eat. Pie were very good. Nice crispy crust, tasty sauce and plenty of rich tasty cheese. Our friends had the plain and we had mushrooms and sausage. Everything was tasty-good and fresh. It takes a lot to pizza-satisfy a New Yorker and this place did a good job! KUDOs to the team at North Face Pizza.

We had a yearning for pizza came across North Face Pizza on Main St Jasper. It was nothing fancy,…read morebut the pizza itself was delicious. They have a wide selection of foods from sandwiches, to pasta's to fries. It was exactly what we wanted. No frills, great food made to order. Order and pay at the counter. They have takeaway & eat in options. The staff are very nice and helpful when trying to choose because the menu is quite large. This pizzeria is perfect for families. It's got a homie family style vibe with no frills as I said. Food/pizza/fries were great.

After a long hike in the rain we were ready for a tasty meal with drinks!…read more Since this place had great reviews we took a chance and wern't disappointed. I have to admit I may of groaned a bit climbing the flight of stairs up to the restaurant after a verticle climb up a mountain earlier, however the trek up was worth it. We were seated right away, and greated by Maddy soon after although wern't ready to place our drink orders quite yet. After a bit we had moved onto the menu choices where Maddy hadnt come back and was having a casual chat for a while with the bar tender so I walked over and asked to place our drink orders. Since they wern't busy and we were thirsty we were both a tad annoyed as we felt a little forgotten. I ordered the Cabernet and my guy the Rhino Hazy IPA draft. My wine was delishious although pricey for an 8oz glass. We both agreed the IPA was a bit heavy on the citrus notes so my guy opted for the The Apex Predator Ale on the next round which was much better. The food came out quickly where I had the Truffle Tortellini with cajun shrimp with Maddy's suggestion and it was SO good! My guy had the Alfredo with chicken which to both of us was a bit bland. After a while of the food being dropped off Maddy came around where we asked for some salt and pepper and parmesan which did help the alfredo dish. I ordered a second glass of 5oz wine, less than the already costly 8oz pour but our server brought the 8oz pour. She apologized when I told her was pretty sure I ordered the 5oz but told her I would just keep it. This place has good food, a nice kind of trendy atmosphere which is updated and stylish, with a good menu. Our service wasn't top notch but have had way worse and we thought Maddy was nice at least. The food and drinks are pricey but would definitely return.

Great food, great service, good time!…read more Only issue is that the prawn appetizer seemed a bit steep for 4 prawns. Josh at the bar was awesome!

They're not kidding when they call this "The Great Hall" Gastropub. This is one large dining area…read more Since we had two dinners here, both in the evening there was no window view of the lake. Just some nice light music by the guitar player entertaining us for the evening. The first night we came in from our Rocky Mountaineer train ride. Not too late and sat down for a nice light dinner. Some fish & Chips for me and brisket sandwich for my wife. Our friends also had the F&C and a burger. After traveling all day and an early pickup you don't want to eat too heavy. The next day we came back late from our tours and came in for a light bite. (see my hotel review). Both the bar and Gastropub were packed and there is really no place else to go. We had to wait a little while but finally made it back in to the Gastropub. It was late and we just did some appetizers. Some flat bread, wings and nachos. The orders are pretty large and the four of us shared. The service both nights was wonderful. The staff here is a great bunch of extremely friendly and caring people. Nothing to complain about... Everything was great and we shuffled back to our rooms for another early morning departure. KUDOs to the team at The Great Hall Gastropub

So I'm writing these reviews after my trip to Jasper. My first one was at the Juniper, in Banff,…read morewhich was very good. And then we had an amazing brunch at the Fairmont in Banff. We went for a little cozy and chic at the Kumama which had some rough spots, but for the most part was OK. But here we are at another Fairmont. And we cut out my beach time at the lake and canoeing so we can eat here for lunch as a family. Martin S. says it all, this is one of Canada's jewels, and I'm sure he means the cute squirrel that provided entertainment for the guests at the patio. A cute squirrel was running around with a big white carnation, or hair scrunchie, or ruffled tissue trying to court another squirrel. Our meal took FOREVER. FOREVER to arrive and FOREVER to pay. I ordered poke - because why shouldn't you order sushi in Alberta. It was actually OK. Too much dressing drenched the fish. I really liked the mango. They might have been previously frozen, but they were sweet. Someone ordered fish and chips - which is fried so you shouldn't be able to mess that up. My husband ordered a wrap which I think was OK. Someone ordered a salad - and it's a pretty basic salad. Can't mess up there. And someone else ordered bison burger. This is how we learned why our food took FOREVER: The fry cook was busy burning the patty - he had to make sure it was rock hard. First it was the burned cheesecake at the Kumama and then it was this burned patty. My brother-in-law literally took it out of the bun and dropped it on the plate and there was a audible "ker-KLUNK!". I guess the people here have taken inspiration from the Jasper Fire Complex to a whole new degree. I was further disappointed that at a golf resort, and this place looked like the clubhouse or something similar, so I was hoping for a club sandwich. Must not be a Canadian thing. The menu was pretty boring and I had a hard time picking something vaguely healthy that wasn't a boring salad, which is why I went for the poke. While the food was mostly edible, I would definitely prefer to try out the other restaurants at JPL. This was a rather disappointing experience, especially compared to our other Fairmont excursions.
