We stopped for lunch and had delicious soups. You order at the counter and they bring you the food. We had bowls of zucchini tomato soup and a chicken barley. They were both delicious and tasted homemade. We also ordered a cheese stick. It is a tortilla stuffed with cheddar cheese and pressed in a panini machine. Some of the baked goods are made in house. They have a variety of teas and coffees. It has a cozy atmosphere. It is indoor seating. There is an attached gift shop. The staff was friendly. There is free street parking. read more

Very nice place, very busy over lunch hours. The Café is nicely decorated and gives a very homely feeling. We just had coffee, no food - so can rate the coffee, ambiente and staff only. The staff was very nice and attentive, so I think the place is worth 5 stars. Definitely would go again. read more

It has a very comfortable environment with friendly staff and really good food. I had the chicken quesadilla for lunch and it had to be one of the best I've had. I was about to order morning coffee's for myself and my family, yet due to the actual owner of this establishment requesting my presence outside which was very uncomfortable even though I had no issues having lunch just the day before, I was accused of slander, was sworn at, was given the middle finger, and accused of things I just can't repeat most of the 'conversation'. Unfortunately I ended up video recording the interaction and stooped to the level where I myself ended up yelling back in defence. I highly do recommend this place because I really think that the miss informed and completely entitled owner is definitely allowed to her views, but I definitely do not respect them. I've never ever talked to this person for over 5 minutes of my life. I guess that's what rumoured, small town, ignorance gets your. wow. Not professional at all and very very completely just the worst experience I've ever had at any establishment ever at 9:16am. I've never been threatened and accused of such discussing thing ever. My mother and I stopped here both going to Edmonton and on the way back. We just got coffees on the outbound trip but stopped in for food and coffee on the way back. We very much enjoyed the coffees and the food. My mum especially enjoyed the curry coconut dish that had been recommended by the lovely lady who took the coffee order I gave her on the outgoing trip, The recommendation was given as the coffee I ordered for my mum was with coconut milk, and I commented my mum loved coconut everything, so she recommended the coconut curry dish. I had a reuben that was very good. Not a classical reuben but still very tasty. The lady at the till took my order both on the outgoing and return trip. She was very helpful and friendly. She had a lovely smile and disposition. The ambiance in the store is lovely. Very much to my mum's and my liking. Friendly and comfortable. I observed the lady serve about 6 customers before me on the outgoing trip and she was as lovely and friendly with them as she was with me. If you are traveling to or through Valemount I strongly recommend you visit the Gathering Tree. read more

Best coffee shop in town. Nice atmosphere, panini and wrap lunches and self made sweet treats invitingly presented. Has air conditioning and outdoor seating. Free wifi and a superb kids area with couch, toys and books so parents actually get to enjoy their time here. read more

You wouldn't walk in just looking at the front of this coffee shop - but please do!! Great coffee shop, excellent food and a very clean patio (fenced, with beautiful flowers and umbrellas) and indoor seating area (tables, high tables and sofa nook). Staff are superb, atmosphere is relaxed. Because of this coffee shop, Valemount will be our go-to stop when heading home from Jasper. read more

Had a great visit to this special place. Service was excellent. The server actually crossed the street to get some more almond milk because they ran out. Oh did I mention it was a blizzard outside. Don't go if you believe it's important to follow COVID restrictions. The server who brought out my potatoes and toast wasn't wearing a mask ... well, she was wearing it under her chin. She breathed all over the food as she carried it and put it down on the table, not two feet under her face. I said, um, you just breathed all over my food. She said sorry and walked away. She wore the mask for about a minute after and then took it off again while she walked around the kitchen. Another woman was walking around the kitchen without a mask. Then she went to clear tables without a mask. She said she'd just forgotten to wear it. Also the place was very poorly ventilated, if at all. Light smoke was hanging in the air when we walked in, presumably from the bacon they were cooking. Valemount is a nice town and every business there seemed to take COVID serious except the Gathering Tree. We need to support local business during these difficult times, and local business needs to follow the rules so they can remain open. That is, if they believe COVID is real. Maybe the Gathering Tree doesn't. The eggs were good. I didn't eat the potatoes the server breathed on. I would stay away from this place, folks, until they take the health and safety of their staff and customers seriously. read more
