My travel companion and I went to Lucky House restaurant when we got into Valemount BC, to stay overnight in town. The restaurant has a full tasty menu available, with drinks and appetizers. The restaurant has food combos for two or more people, but also have combos for one person. We both had combo number 3, which has chicken chow mein, ginger beef and crispy almond chicken. We also shared two spring rolls. Everything was very tasty, but the chicken chow mein was the favourite for both of us. I have eaten at Lucky House restaurant back in 2018 - I have eaten a plate of Singapore noodles, which was very delicious as well. Ambiance was very nice, a great place to eat great food with friends or family!! Very good place to eat when you're passing through the area. read more

Food was so so but I was scared to eat it as I have never been in a dirtier restaurant in my entire life! the soy sauce bottles, cracked, filthy. the window sills, full of dust. the back of the chairs where people touch to pull in and out, crusty and greasy at the same time. the bathroom, even worse. there was grime around the handle. something that could be washed and wasn't. the sink, dirty. every door handle and touch area in the whole place was very dirty. Typical Canadian Chinese stir fried dishes.. ample of vegetables, meat in identical tasting sauces. Service is functional, you ask and it will be provided. A warm smile and greeting are missing. This place is crowded for a normal weekday, however, no reservation is required as the ambiance is quite spacious. read more

Better than I was expecting for a small-town BC Chinese restaurant. This is Canadian-style Chinese food. The focus is on heaping plates of chicken chow mein, sweet and sour pork, and fried rice. However, if you order the more interesting and vegetable-rich options (ie. stir fried vs. deep fried), the food is actually pretty good. We had lunch here en route to Jasper, and the food arrived quickly. The portions are large, and we had leftovers to take away for midnight snacking. The place has dated decor but is casually comfortable. No worries showing up here slightly grubby from hiking or mountain biking. This is an acceptable option for a relatively quick meal in Valemount that is not fast food. read more

Avoid this restaurant like the plague! I ordered curried chicken fried rice for take out. It was $25. It was not fried rice and there was no curry sauce. A small amount of steamed rice with some sort of gravy on it, not curried., a few small pieces of chicken and some assorted vegetables were included. It was inedible, and nothing like what I had ordered! The restaurant was grubby and only took cash or debit card, no credit card, a total waste of money. I would never go back there. read more

Plain sums up the hole experience . Waitresses was prompt and friendly. She did fill up our water once, but not our coffee. Though we never got our coffee until we got our meal. Chicken chow mein PLAIN, very little chicken in it. Chicken fried rice PLAIN , deep fried dumplings PLAIN and very little meat ( see picture). Almond chicken PLAIN and a little dry. Deep fried prawns were decent enough. Only ones that had flavour was spicy ginger beef and sweet and sour pork ( though it was more sweet than spicy) . Thank goodness for S/P and soya sauce. Restaurant was clean and same with both bathrooms. There was only two other tables when we arrived and they were finishing up their meal. read more

Nastiest hostess I've ever encountered at a restaurant. Even though we got there 2 hours prior to closing and there were already customers previously seated for dining in house she told us they would do take out only. It was clear she was annoyed that I attempted to give her business. So I start ordering a takeout order and I asked for paper plates she almost blew a gasket and told me there is an extra charge for these. Ok, fine. So I give her a credit card and she said that they only accept Canadian credit cards. We are on a road trip through Canada and I used my credit card at at least 20 businesses and not one would differentiate between a Canadian credit card and an American one. I could have paid cash but I refused to give someone with such poor customer service skills one penny of my money. I cancelled my order and left. read more

The food came quick, and was hot and fresh! Kung Pao Chicken, Beef and Broccoli, and Chili Salt Squid were our favourites. We asked for hot sauce and it was delicious (not usual sriracha). We would definitely go back again as the portions were large. The food was salty for our tastes, but that's what plain rice is for. read more

Many years ago I are at a similar named restaurant in this town. When I saw we were staying here I was looking forward to eating here. It's new in a strip center and not the cool little building. When I went into the market I asked the woman about the previous restaurant. She said the gentleman had passed away and could not recommend this place. I went anyway My bad. The food had very little taste, was very expensive and the service non-existence. After someone came up behind me and slide my food on the table I had to get up and get a plate, nobody ever checked up on me. When I was done I got up to get my own leftovers boxes. I mention the service was not even there and she didn't even seem to care. I won't be back. read more

5 of us came In from Calgary and all agreed this is some of the best Chinese food we have ever had. We ordered veggie fried rice, Ginger beef, S&S pork, chicken noodles, beef and broccoli, and lemon chicken. Every dish was amazing! Fresh, well prepared, tasty, and promptly served. Not so lucky. Wife and I walked over from the motel at 6:30 to a mostly empty restaurant, but was not worried about an empty parking lot - due to other positive reviews. Was greeted by hostess asking us if we were doing "take out", Nope just 2 for dinner. With ~50+ empty chairs, we were told they were full and we could come back in a half hour...what?? We laughed our way to a spot next door. My guess was that they had a tour bus coming in that had the place reserved. After finishing our meal next door, we saw two tour buses full of Asians show up at about 7:40, bet they had the place booked. read more

I am in town for a couple days and decided to check this place out because of the previous review. Excellent food and service. I am a vegetarian and it was not a problem to substitute the chicken chow main and chicken fried rice for their vegetable counterparts and substitute the pork for chop suey. The server even took the time to check weather it was okay or not to include egg. Exceptional service for a small town. The price is a little higher than the average Chinese food restaurant; however, the higher price is easily justified in the fact that the food at this restaurant is clearly a level above that of the average Chinese food restaurant. Unreal food, fresh and hot, every few weeks when I drive thru it's a must stop, chef cooks it up quick and with the place being full I've got my meal in less than 10 minutes, combo 3 is excellent, highly recommend lucky house, quality Chinese food read more
