And we often meet for coffee, so I perused some reviews. This place looked good, and we tried it out today. What I like about it is, it's a little eclectic, a little off the beaten path. You walk in and there's a little order counter and you can go left or right after you get your order, if you go left ... whoops you're into another business. If you go right there's seating, and a room and then partway into that room, You make a left and there's another seating room. It kinda reminds me of a donut place in Joliet. The OLD Donut den (years back, before they moved into their current space )with its little rooms and nooks and crannies. Village grind has great service, very friendly baristas. A decent array of varied coffees, lattes, and the like. I think their star is their excellent selection of all homemade... Pastries, desserts, and yummy things. Again, all homemade. Prices are surprisingly affordable. This from a guy who is a known cheap SOB. My relative had the cherry cobbler pastry looking thing. And was overjoyed with it. I had the eclair cake and it was extremely yummy, and made my tummy so happy. My relative said he was extremely happy with the choice of coffee shop, and that we would be definitely meeting there again soon. Parking is on the street, but they also have a lot on the side of the bldg. . In downtown Oswego, not far from the river. Recommend!

They will call out your name when your drink is ready up by the front counter. There are silverware and napkins by the front counter and by the front and back near the trash cans. Condiments and to go containers too or ask at the front counter. They do offer a variety of pastries ; muffins, cookies, breads, danish, cinnamon roll, etc. that are displayed at the front counter. It was a rainy Sunday, so got the banana nut macchiato hot with almond milk and 1/2 the sugar. Glad they have alternative options for milk and customize the sugar level. It was very just perfect. Also had the sausage scrambler sandwich that has scrambled eggs and cheese on an English muffin. Lot bigger than I expected and ate half the sandwich. Also got the Parmesan roasted red potatoes, which was really delicious. They were very hot and steamy. Every bite got the Parmesan cheese. They have a fireplace with comfy chairs. There are Tall tables and regular tables throughout the dining area available. We choose a table by the window. Love the inside decor.

Ambiance was nice, including an outdoor seating area where I enjoyed my coffee and avocado toast. Service was good as well; friendly staff, prompt service. The coffee, delicious. Good roast, good price, what more do you need. The avocado toast, probably why you are seeing 4 stars instead of 5. I have had avocado toast all of this country - sort of a go to for a light breakfast before one of my trainings. And, as far as avocado toast goes, this one was just okay. Fairly bland, despite there being an herb pesto-type sauce on it and some "half-dried" tomatoes. And when it comes to avocado toast, there is so much opportunity for good citrus flavor, salt, herbs, etc.. So, good cup of coffee, and hopefully some other good things on the menu - I only tried the avocado toast. Good folks, worth another try if I'm in town again.
