Summary: Scooter's is a drive-thru coffee and tea spot with a limited breakfast food menu. This is the third drive-thru, kiosk style coffee spot to open in O'Fallon in as many months. It's also the second Scooter's in a 2-1/2 mile radius. With a BreadCo (Panera), three Starbucks, two Dunkins, and the usual fast food coffee places (including three McDonalds) on Highway K's 6-1/2 mile stretch, you'd think residents would be sufficiently caffeinated. Scooter's evidently thought one more coffee spot was needed. This location is convenient for northbound travelers to I-70, Target, Walmart, and other shopping. If you're unfamiliar with the mid-America coffee chain the business concept is straightforward: coffee, tea, and some breakfast treats and sandwiches. That's about it. Scoot in and scoot out quickly. There's no inside dining. This store has a single drive-thru lane. It shares a cramped parking lot with other retail, so use caution when getting your java fix.

We are SO glad we tried Scooters - yes we are paying a little more than Dunkin but we are now supporting a smaller business, getting much better coffee, and great customer service!!

We stopped in about 1:30 on Saturday and were promptly seated. The restaurant is clean and colorful with the ambiance of Caribbean look. After looking over the menu we both decided upon ordering Papu's Cuban which comes with Cuban Black Beans & Rice. We also got an order of Yuca Fries and a side of Maduros. The sandwiches came out exactly as they promise : "Layers of slow-roasted mojo pork, smoked ham, Swiss cheese, crisp pickles, and their secret sauce are stacked inside fresh Cuban bread, then pressed to a golden perfection." As you bite into the sandwich your taste buds are greeted into a heavenly mixture of textures and tastes that explode in your mouth with the most gratifying pleasure. The Cuban Black Beans & Rice are flavorful and very authentic in their accompaniment with sandwich and worked well with it. The Yuca Fries were hot and Crispy on the outside, yet soft and fluffy on the inside served on top of their traditional and delicious Garlic Aioli with extra on the side to dip into for absolute garlic bliss! If you like garlic this side is a must! We also split a side of their Maduros which were pan fried. At first bite into the golden cooked plantains we both agreed we were both instantly transported back to 2017 when we were at a "Mom & Pop" restaurant in Havana Cuba having fried plantains! The sweetness, the richness, the texture, the flavor was just as amazing at Havana 1961 as it was at our stay while in Havana, Cuba. Also, let me say the play between the Maduros and the Yuca Fries with its Garlic Aioli played on each other that was so unexpected, yet so enjoyable and each added to the experience and flavor of the other, I highly recommend you try them together with your meal. Will we go back again? Yes! Again, just as the Cuban restaurant we went to in Cuba was a "Mom & Pop" , so is Havana 1961. We have always preferred going to these restaurants verse large chains due to the fact at the local restaurants you get real food cooked in real time verse the chains which ship in frozen and/or prepared meals. What amazes me how I will be sitting in a local restaurant with a wait people will come in but refuse to wait 20-30 minutes for home cooked food yet they will go to a chain restaurant and wait an hour for prepackaged food. Our biggest problem coming up? Trying to decide what we order on our next visit, for we will be back.

They offer a wide range of burger options. The main proteins are turkey beef and black bean. The toppings combinations are exponential. We ordered a regular cheese burger and a black bean burger. The bun is soft and fluffy. The toppings are as fresh as you can get. The beef burger was juicy and flavorful. The veggie patty was crisp and tender. We also ordered the hand cut fries and they did not disappoint. The big reason we decided to give them a try was for the milk shakes. Most of the burger places offer shakes made with frozen custard. Having an egg allergy prevents everyone in our family from being able to enjoy a shake with their meal. The shake was perfectly thick and delicious. They have a nice variety to choose from. The space is brand new, bright, clean, and comfortable.

They share a parking lot with several other businesses in the plaza, but there was plenty of parking and several disabled spots right at the door, including a ramp. They have a nice outdoor patio for seasonable weather. There's plenty of seating inside this casual spot. They have a counter for placing your order and a pick up window on the side. I ordered takeout online and my order was ready even before the promised time. I love that they have several options for a "burger" besides a typical beef patty including hot dogs. They have suggested combinations and also "make your own." They cater to lots of dietary needs, including Vegan, Paleo, Keto, etc. On this visit, I chose the Dr. Praeger black bean burger with all kinds of toppings. I love the option of avocado slices and the fried onion straws. I had a hard time choosing between the regular fries, sweet potato fries or the house made chips. I decided on the regular fries and it was a good choice. I chose the personal size and the portion was huge. The food was hot, fresh and very tasty. Service was good on my visit and they seem to keep the establishment very clean. This is definitely worth a stop for a casual meal.

The place is kinda small with limited indoor seating. Seems like next door has restrooms if needed, so that was weird. The price was on the higher side for fast food, but the quality was great and good quantity so sharing made enough for two people. The fritters were okay, but not sure I would get them again. All told a bit Quirky, but tasty chicken so I would recommend checking it out, Cheers!

The chicken was prepared absolutely perfectly, cooked all the way through evenly distributed. The crispy texture of the outside was perfect, and didn't slide off like some other chicken places. Paired with the sauce, it was the epitome of what I crave when I think "Nashville chicken". Similar to Dave's hot chicken but way better imo. The fries were also cooked to perfection! Perfectly crisp on the outside, nice and fluffy on the inside! I'm not sure where they source their ingredients but it seemed to be high quality stuff. I did wish this location had some drinks on tap, but a minor thing considering the quality of the food. The owner was super nice, and i had the good fortune to witness a lovely experience! - Prior to eating here, I had previously visited a local cafe in which, due to limited seated, a family decided to leave. The owner, was not only irritated but somewhat rude about the interaction. Fast forward to my experience today at Chuck's, I saw an older woman come in who seemed to just be looking at the menu, then decided it wasn't for her. The owner, i believe his name was Jesse, politely said "yeah of course no problem, hope you have a great day!". Now had I not had the previous experience, perhaps this would have been nothing to praise, but I certainly wanted to give credit to this owner as I had already witnessed a much different reaction to a similar circumstance. Being kind and professional to even those who don't patron your business is a recipe for success, and I wish this franchise and this business great success in the future. Store was also quaint, but not super big. Wasn't a big fan of the music, felt a tad loud for my taste. Also, they have some self service kiosk for ordering but also take orders if they aren't in the back cooking. Will certainly be back in the furure. 5 stars!
