I have been in the Fleet and automotive repair industry for almost 45 years with both domestic and international vehicles. While I perform most of my own work on our various BMW's for the past several years, there are numbers items that require either special equipment or tools. When I don't have either of these - or don't have the time- I trust The owner Bill and his staff. Bill will provide a clear estimate for exactly what you need and also if there is anything else that is recommended. Bill has no problem supporting your decision- whatever you choose. I have been going to Schroders for better than ten years and quickly realized his ethics and trust are second to none. Excellent work, great communication and fair prices. Schroeder's is the ONLY shop for my automotive mechanical work. read more

I have a high mileage older vehicle that I am trying to maintain as long as possible. This is the only place I will ever take my vehicle now. They are amazing. Honest and fair prices. I have had a dealership try to talk me into services I didn't need while failing to diagnose the actual problem and possibly damaging my car in the process Schroeder's is the best. Very trustworthy. They can solve complicated problems and have never tried to talk me into a repair or maintenance I didn't need. read more

Three months ago was told they ordered the part ( see review below). No calls or emails and no part. I was told they were ordering the part on a Thursday night at 5:00. I had to have my car for the next three days and asked to call me when it came in. I hate being lied to. I hate that I spent 7 hours with an appointment just for a diagnosis that I already had from my tester at home. I was so sure they were working for me I ordered door dash and waited the entire afternoon. I hate that I asked to 'check' on a warranty tho I knew it was a long shot. Once I said warranty, the service level went down and my car wasn't brought around until hour 3 of the wait. Just all around bad business- dishonest and untrustworthy. If the owner does have the part and calling me in the last 3 months was some sort of terrible bookkeeping, I'd be happy to hear an explanation and apology for the full day of waiting and the brush off on a repair I was happy to pay for. Again, the warranty inquiry was just that, and I stated I didn't think it would be in the coverage. read more

Mr. Bill, First time in your shop today and let's just say beyond impressed with your integrity and responsiveness. Was in and out in 15 minutes while dealership said it was a "complicated" job and would have my car all day. THANK YOU and have gained a life long customer for all our cars. read more

When told "we are on the phone with the warranty company"and then one asks the warranty company the status 3 hours later, there is an expectation of honesty. It is okay to be short staffed or busy. It is not best practice to tell a customer that you are speaking with or have contacted their warranty company when there is no record of such a contact. I did not expect this to be covered, but wanted to check. The warranty company checked it for me in about a 5 minute phone call. I was told a part was ordered at 5:30 on a Thursday after arriving for a 9:00 AM appointment. That was quite a wait for a diagnosis that I checked with a computer at home before coming in. As it was too late to begin repair or get the part, I was asked to return with the car in the AM. I indicated that I would return when the part came in to save time. As of 3:45 Friday there is no part and given the dishonesty of the warranty contact, I doubt it was ordered. I'm not sure how this place stays in business. read more

I thought they were trustworthy! NOT! I just found more proof on their paperwork saying I needs something done but was not told and when I went back because of engine light constantly on month after month - they knew what was wrong and sent me to Mercedes Benz! My engine was totally damaged due to schroeders incompetence! Do not go here! Far from certified Mercedes certified! ONLY take your Mercedes to the dealership! Maybe little More money buy the job is done right! read more

Had a check engine light come on with my Audi and wanted it looked at by a team that knows German cars. Schroeder's took the car and were able to give me a diagnosis (of course, connect to a computer and boom!), but what really impressed me was their knowledge of the Audi platform, future potential concerns (which I had already checked via Audi forums) and their ability to handle everything. Thankfully (for me!) this engagement with Schroeder was very simple, I look forward to relying on them for my Audi needs! read more

I have been working with Schroeder's for over 10 years. All my cars are handled as if they were their own. When they recommend things that need to be done, I trust them. Have never had to return for any work they have provided. Bill is the best and most trusted team to handle all our needs. Christian owed company and he has truly been blessed and has been a blessing to many. Lady Mayberry read more

Have used them for years with 4 different Mercedes. They are superb! Good prices & great quality work.

Fantastic owner, fantastic work done on my BMW. When my other car got a loose mirror due to a car wash, the owner came out and fixed it with a simple fix for no cost. The alternative was to replace the whole mirror assembly for about $1000. Very ethical and trustworthy. Highly recommend! read more

Schroeder's Import Automotive was recommended to me by a family friend, and I was not disappointed. I brought my BMW 328i in because my check engine light was on, and I had a couple sensors that weren't functioning correctly. Turns out a rodent has chewed through the wiring that connected the sensors, and all of them needed to be rewired. These guys are straightforward, honest, and fair. Apparently a rare thing to find these days. I appreciate the work they did, the customer service they provided, and the conversation they had with me to outline all of my car's issues and their solutions. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THESE GUYS! I will be coming back for any issue I have in the future. read more

Schroeder's continues to handle our Volvo and Acura SUVs smoothly with timely service. Because they tell you when you do NOT need some maintenance or repair, you can trust them when they say you DO. Highly recommended. read more

When you take your car in for some type of repair or service, the biggest fear is that the dealer or the place that you have selected is going to either do bad work or bend you over in some other way (price, unknowns, infrior parts etc). Bill Schroeder (owner) worked on the alignment of my 2004 E46 M3. It was not an easy task, but I watched work tirelessly to do it right, to his satisfaction. It probably wasn't very profitable, but he did the best work. My car will be going backk in. read more

I am so grateful to have found Schroeder's years ago!!! It is the ONLY repair shop I will bring my 2006 BMW, yes, that is still going, THANKS to Bill and Team. Last week, my rear window stopped rolling up, and I called Bill to see if he would still honor the repair warranty even though it had expired. His response (without even seeing my car): "Absolutely. We stand behind our work." He took my car in within a day and repaired it that same day. THANK YOU, Bill. I am so impressed with your new shop in Allen. Thank you for your excellent customer service. I am very appreciative! read more

When I lived in Texas, I took my family cars (BMW's, Mazdas, Toyota's) to Shroeder's Import. Bill is the best. Always a fair price and quality work done right. Never had to question the diagnosis and repair. When I moved out of state, I would still have Schroeder's repair anything outstanding if I drove the vehicle into town. Just today, I called Bill to get his opinion on a puzzling diagnosis that both the BMW dealership and an independent, experienced BMW mechanic can't agree on.. to see if he was familiar with the issue. He returned my call and of course, knew exactly what the issue was as he'd seen it several times w/my make/model of BMW. I would highly recommend Bill and his company. Great person, honest and fair. "Almost" worth moving back for :) read more

I was shocked to see how quickly they got me in and more so how fast they were with our repairs. Quality work!!! read more

I am from central Illinois and was visiting family in McKinney over a weekend when my 2006 BMW M3 began throwing warning lamps and went into limp home mode a couple times. I was able to check the codes and reset them but couldn't keep them from coming back. I was planning on returning to Illinois on Tuesday but worried about problems on the 800 mile drive so I took the car into Schroeder's Import Automotive in hopes that they could look at it. I was very pleasantly surprised that they could get my car in that day as I am used to waiting a couple of days at least for an appointment. Anyway, Kenny was very helpful and said if I left the car they would check it out for me. When he called back mid afternoon he said they were able to repeat some of the lights coming on but couldn't find any problems and suggested that I should be okay to return home the next day and keep an eye on it. The amazing thing was he didn't charge me anything since they weren't able to find anything wrong. I tried to get him to take something since they had a couple of hours in it and some test driving but he wouldn't change his mind. That is so rare in today's world. I can't speak highly enough of Schroeder's and if I lived in McKinney I would definitely be a customer. Thank you to the crew at Schroeder's for giving me peace of mind and I made the return trip with no incidents. read more
