ROSARIO S. CASSATA AT SCHOONERS IN JUPITER FLORIDA.
Rosario S. C.

Schooners in Jupiter is an American seafood restaurant with both indoor and outdoor dining options. As you enter, you'll find a decent-sized bar. The staff, including our waitress Graysen Erin, were very friendly and accommodating. The food, such as the delicious fish and chips and crab salad, was superb. The casual atmosphere is enhanced by live music on weekends, though the parking area can be a bit tight.

Plate of the day (yellowtail snapper) with three fried shrimp

Great place for fresh seafood! We went here for the first time after a day at the beach. We were sat immediately. They have a nice selection on the menu. I would have loved to have ordered 10 different things! We got the crab legs and the calamari as appetizers. The crab legs are expensive, but they were fresh and very good. The calamari was also very good! I've had a lot and this was right up there. We polished it all iff between the 3 of us. For dinner, it was hard to choose, so I ordered "The Plate of the Day" from the specials menu. It has a little bit of everything. It was excellent! The yellowtail snapper was crusted with yuca, sweet potato, and horseradish. It also came with a side of the spaghetti with melted mozzarella on top, 3 fried shrimp, and a side of the spinach salad. Everything was excellent! I'd order it again. The fish was delicious! My sister ordered the swordfish. It came with 2 sides. She got the steamed vegetables of the day (zucchini and yellow squash) and fries. It was excellent and she ate it all. My nephew ordered the "honey-dipped" chicken wings. He loved them, but they did not taste like they were dipped in honey. They were just regular breaded, deep-fried wings. But they were really good. We didn't have room for dessert. But ordered a piece of key lime pie to go. But, the waitress never brought it and my sister forgot about it and we left without it. ‍ Our fault! We drove from Miami. I would definitely go back again the next time I'm up.

Conch bites

Food was excellent! Had conch chowder and bites Juan suggested the bites and he was 100% correct this was my husband first time out since June and surgery and he had fish an chips all gone our drink glasses never emptied. Lots of construction in the area our first time here. We love it. Lunch time is very quiet can eat inside and outside. Coleslaw is the best ever! Lots of folks bike riders in the ocean having a good time. And so are we!

Make sure you order out of the adult menu. Portion problem. Don't order the eggs if you want pouched eggs.

The Hungry Poet is back baby!! (I love being Yelp Elite…read more I've just been busy!) "The Salty Zebra blew me away, The Black Grouper entree made my entire day. The burger was seasoned and the patty was fat, But those home made desserts....whooo that's where it's at!" This meal/dining experience brought me to Yelp immediately. I was excited y'all! The Salty Zebra (picked it b/c of good reviews and proximity to Barnes and Noble in Tequesta) They cover the basics extremely well: greeted with kindness and professionalism, seated promptly, and approached immediately by a wonderful server. I won't spend time here just know you will not be disappointed with the service and it was beyond pleasant. Apps Burgundy Escargot (Pernod Garlic-Parsley Butter) We asked for a recommendation from the appetizer section of their menu (perfect amount of selections by the way...I despise an encyclopedic menu). We were thinking escargot and we were so pleased that it was recommended...that sealed the deal. It was garlicky and buttery and served with the perfect white bread. Spot on. Entrees were freaking fantastic! Florida Black Grouper (Creamed Kai Kai Farms Mustard Greens, Colab Farms Glazed Carrots, Carrot Marmalade) I never order grouper. I go out of my way to order it because I don't enjoy white fish usually. Something spoke to my spirit (plus our amazing server highly recommended it) and I went against my natural inclination. Lawd have mercy I'm glad I did. That grouper was perfectly seared, flaky, flavorful and completed excellently by the mustard greens and carrots. I do t know what the sauce was in the plate but it was savory a bit earthy in the best possible way with a twinge of sweetness that made me want to lick the plate ‍ (hey I'm from Mississippi...we do that ). Needless to say there wasn't a morsel of food left in my plate. Other reviews complained about small portions. I beg to differ it was a perfect portion, and I have a biiiiig appetite. (I am the hungry poet after all! I enjoy experiencing three full courses and not being miserably full by dessert.) Bistro Burger (1/2 LB CBS Blend, Gruyere, Sweet & Sour Onions, Au Poivre Sauce, Parmesan Potato Wedges) Boyfriend got the burger. It was great--I am well loved so I got the first bite lol Patty was thick and moist and seasoned! I was impressed that they didn't stay away from seasoning with this burger. We suspect it could have even been prepared sous vide then seared because of how evenly cooked it was. Our server was even kind enough to bring ketchup for the potato wedges. Dessert LET ME FIRST SAY: the second dessert (chef's special) was complementary. I don't know why? Good karma maybe? Speaking of the chef... Chef Michael was working that dining room. ‍ He walked by our table and asked if everything was okay. Not realizing he was the chef we asked for a little more bread to sop up the escargot butter. He brought the bread out a few minutes later himself and was super polite. He introduced himself and I was impressed that he was so personable. He stopped by two more times to check on our entrees and desserts. I love an involved chef. I have a couple friends who are Executive Chefs in pretty swanky places and I love to see that bar being met. Especially as a Yelp Elite reviewer. You know how most people can't wait to write reviews when they're pissed. I can't wait to write reviews when my socks are knocked off. Back to dessert... Chocolate banana I love banana desserts. Some might be biased but this dessert was oooooooh wee deliciously special. I don't have the description because I think desserts change weekly/daily etc but trust me... GET IT! If you like bananas chocolate and caramel get it! Homemade S'more When I said made in house I mean it! The marshmallow the graham cracker all of it! It was rich and decadent and it blew me away. I'll be thinking about these desserts for a while. And again I don't t know what we did to get a free one but Chef Michael brought both out himself and I felt the "we go the extra mile" vibe. It was crystal clear. Sounds like I'm using hyperbole but I swear I'm not. Decor and ambiance was beautiful. Wasn't loud at all. Hands down a perfect dinner experience. We had been walking in the hot sun all day after this impromptu trip to Stuart and even in leggings and a T-shirt we felt comfy and welcomed. Thanks another review giving it to you straight no chaser from The Hungry Poet aka Elizabeth S. aka Lizz . Enjoy!

Ambiance: We did a reservation and were seated pretty quickly so we loved it. It was packed and busy. Music was great. Our waiter was very nice and I'm so sad i didn't get her name. Food: In the Flavor South Florida menu, we did the conch fritter and the fish dip. I'm not a big conch fritter person but this one was very tasty and crispy. The fish dip surprised us if you try it with just the crackers it won't be as good as adding all condiments it comes with like the pickled onions, the pickles and the peppers. It was delicious!!!! My snapper was good! It lacked flavor a little but once i added some salt and pepper to it. It was way better. The salad on top added some acidity to it and it came together really nicely. Drinks: I got the lychee lagoon. And it was soooo goooood! Def getting that again. Price: My total was $71 and price was great! The proportion and taste was definitely worth flavor south florida pricing and i love that!'n Definitely coming back!

It's a bit hidden from the outside - stickers cover the windows so you almost can't tell what the inside looks like, but it's such a chill vibe inside and the food is always really good, especially if you like fresh fish! We started with the bao buns (you can choose shrimp, chicken or pork). They were really good but spicy! We took off the jalapeños so they weren't as spicy! They were delicious otherwise. For dinner we split the Indoroni (they call grown up Mac and cheese), the dish is HUGE and super filling, and a fish special. The fish came encrusted with their infamous sauce on top over a huge salad with roasted peppers, capers, red onions, and lettuce and a really tasty salad dressing. You get to choose from a few different fish, whatever is available that day. We went with the triple-tail. Super cute spot. Fish is always delicious and we really enjoy the ambiance. Service was great. If you have never been, don't be intimated by the outside. I know the first time I came here I was like, is this a dive bar from my college days? It's really not at all! We started with the crispy fish bites, and fish dip. The fish dip was one of my dining partner's picks, it was good but not something I'd order myself. The fish fingers were the standout, tempura fried grouper bites that tasted fresh and made from scratch, cooked perfectly. I split two taco dishes with one of my dining partners. She got the Korean BBQ short rib tacos and I got the crispy hogfish tacos, both were excellent. Honestly the portions were generous enough that we could have shared just one order between us, but we were celebrating so we went a little overboard. Ended up taking half of everything home, which was a nice bonus. Other people at the table got the pecan crusted salmon and the steak tips topped with lump crab, and both looked fantastic. Loved that they offer a range of sides too, from french fries to rice and beans to their signature crispy Tiki potato casserole, which was one of the best bites of the night. Service was great, our waitress was attentive and on top of everything all night. The atmosphere is unbeatable, sitting right on the water with such a great vibe. It was surprisingly crowded for a Monday night, which says a lot. Would definitely go back.

It sits in the parking lot of what used to be a party supply store. Maybe it still is. It's been there as long as I can remember--and the older I get, the less I remember. When you visit Dude Dog, expect a long wait for outdoor seating and no air conditioning. You might wonder why anyone would pine for a little wooden seat in the blazing heat. Then the food arrives. It's everything you'd expect from a Florida grill: hot dogs, burgers, and fish, all cooked just right and served in the middle of a jungle. Somehow, there are no mosquitoes. The beer is colder than ice, and everyone's laughing and having a great time. So when you come to Jupiter, don't miss Dude Dog. It's one of the town's staple restaurants--and there are only a couple. I hope you do forever. Until next time, dine fine.

My dining partner got the buffalo chicken salad and loved every bite too. Only regret is that I was so distracted by the storm show outside that I forgot to snap pictures! Guess that just means I have to go back soon and work my way through the rest of the menu. Can't wait. Highly recommend if you're craving something fresh and satisfying. This place deserves way more attention.
