Busy pizza shop located in Quincy Center right by the corner of School Street and Hancock Street. They serve delicious pizza as well as sandwiches, salads, pasta dinners, chicken dinners and a very good assortment of appetizers and desserts. Very friendly environment and the workers here are always attentive and helpful. I usually go with their cheese pizza and it is always very good. Just the right amount of sauce and cheese and it tastes fresh like it just came out of the oven. The service is fast here and when I place an order to be picked up it is always ready for me within the time they promised. Their prices are very affordable and the portion size is great. I always enjoy their pizzas and I hope to get back there soon to perhaps try one of their sandwiches or salads. read more

Sure, there are more varieties of pizzas than anyone could count, but sometimes you must go back to basics: the humble cheese pizza. So many pies are just this very base with some combination of toppings. A good crust, tasty, seasoned cheese, and a present, rich tomato sauce with a little acid and sweetness are all critical, no matter what you put on top. The pies I've had the opportunity to try at Schoolhouse Pizza were okay. However, it was these basics that kept them from being great. Neither the cheese nor the tomato sauce made very much of an impact flavor-wise. I've had pizzas where the cheese has some herbs/garlic, and those where the tomato sauce is not hidden, and the difference is significant. One other thing: I believe there is some level of importance in pizzas being at least a little greasy, as fat carries flavor, and this wasn't the case here. However, for some reason when taking bites right after reheating, it's like the tomato and cheese temporarily woke up from their slumber, but this was short-lived, and wasn't the case when they were fresh from the box. When it comes to toppings: the combinations are well balanced, and nothing is skimped on or overdone. It does not go unnoticed, but toppings need something to build upon, and alas, there isn't much. All this in mind, the pizzas weren't as bad as the slippers sold at Domino's, but they didn't have the secret sauce (& cheese?) to elevate them into anything noteworthy. The best thing was the creativity with the school-based names. PS: let me share a pro tip on reheating pizza: Forget the microwave. Place the slice on a pan on medium heat with a spritz of cooking spray on the base. Give it a few minutes, then reduce heat, add a teeny bit of water and cover. read more

I ordered via grub hub. Meatball sub and salad with grilled chicken. Man, the meatball sub was bone dry. Extremely dry and salty. No sauce on it whatsover. Barely any cheese. So dry I can't even eat it. Meatball subs are supposed to be loaded with sauce and melted mozarella cheese making the bread slightly soggy. You shouldn't have to check "add marinara" sauce. Which I believe I did. Thinking it would be extra sauce added. Nope dry as a desert. For almost 15.00 this definitely wasn't worth the price. Such a disappointment. Sigh... Schoolhouse Pizza used to be great. Not so much anymore. I just want a good pizza! I ordered The Works pizza through Uber Eats. Unbeknownst to me they had 2 other deliveries to make before it got to me. And yes - it was cold. But the bigger disappointment was the pizza itself. Little sauce, little cheese and totally flavorless even with the toppings. Will be trying somewhere else next time. Wish me luck! read more

Great local pizza place in Quincy Center! There's a lot of not so great pizza options in Quincy, but Schoolhouse makes a great pizza! I've been coming here for years and the quality is always consistent, pizzas are always hot and delicious (thin and crispy NY style), also I highly recommend the dough knots - always get the garlic knots and sometimes the loaded knots. My wife also loves their Chicken Parm Dinner w/Ziti - high quality chicken cutlets they're making! Always excellent service, the owner knows me by my first name and always thanks me an appreciates my business. The calzone edges did get a little too doughy, aka the filling didn't make it all the way out to the edges, but I can't fault them too much for that because I think it's a common calzone issue. Ordered last week online through their site (for delivery) which took me to another site, Slice. Accepted the order and my payment, it gave me an estimated time for arrival. Only it never came. I called the store 40 min before closing and there was no answer. Maybe they decided to close early? I contact this company Slice and they try the store, no answer, tell me to wait longer. It doesn't come, contact them again, they try the store again, no answer, they tell me to wait longer. Since then the Slice customer service ppl tell me they've tried to call the store many times and can't get in contact with anyone, maybe they've closed? They tell me they need to get approval from the store to give the refund but finally they gave it without an explanation of what happened, I guess b/c they couldn't contact anyone? The day I ordered, the agent said that someone at the store accepted the order, it was not an automated thing. So why would they accept a delivery order (and my payment) and then not make the food/come?? If it was an accidental click at least call me or notify me that it wouldn't be coming so I could have ordered from somewhere else. read more

We've had schoolhouse quite a few times and overall their food is pretty good. My main complaint with them is that they almost NEVER respect the request for contact-free delivery. Out of the dozen or so times I've ordered from them in the past year I've ALWAYS requested a text notification when they dropped off the food - 90% of the time it's completely ignored and they ring the bell and make contact. The other 10% of the time they just drop the food off and leave it in the cold without ever notifying in any way. Tonight I ordered three items from them and they only delivered one. read more

I locked my keys in my car and found schoolhouse pizza open while I was waiting on my husband to come with my spare key. I only got a drink and they told me I could hang out as long as I needed until he got here. The service is great here. twice now I've payed with a credit card, tipped 15% and left delivery instructions for contact free to be delivered inside main mutual foyer of multi family home. there are clear signs on front door for all deliveries to be left inside. Twice my food has been left outside on the ground. last night my $25 pizza that I scrounged money to get being a single exhausted mom and needing a break from cooking for 1 night, and the pizza was left on the ground by the time I got to it covered in ants. they only offered a %15 off next order (what I had paid in tip) and no refund or replacement for the pizza covered in ants. so very disappointing. read more

Pizza is gigantic and they do not skimp on the toppings. Nicely cooked and the guests raved about the quality of the pizza. Can get very busy during dinner time. Call ahead before pickup is your best bet. Highly recommend the Southern BBQ pizza and the Works. Thin crust not too doughy. Well packed and staff is courteous. This review is strictly for take out: I ordered the food over the phone. I was initially put on hold but it was only less than a minute. I placed my order. The guy repeated over the phone. I asked how much and wait time. 20 minutes. Boyfriend went to pick up and was back in no time. The pie was huge. 20" huge. It didn't seem like there was extra cheese. Normally or in other places when you order extra cheese there is a lot of white and it would be super stringy. But still a lot of cheese. Maybe I was just hoping for more. Pleasantly surprised!!! I ordered from the grubhub app at 6pm with an estimated wait of 50-60 minutes. To my surprise my order arrived just 30 minutes later! I ordered the chicken cordon blue calzone, dough knots and teriyaki wings. I was so pleased with all of it and the huge size of the calzone for the prize is unreal! I only got through 1 piece and I'm stuffed! The teriyaki sauce was just enough on the wings to not be completely messy and the garlic knots were perfectly "garlicky."
