5 Star Pizza is located in Quincy Center, in a plaza with Star Market & Walgreens. I've ordered from here numerous times when I used to work nearby & we would do group orders. My go-to order: -the Five Star pizza -cheesy garlic bread -curly fries or Cajun fries Overall, 5 Star Pizza is okay. Not the best, but not the worst. The way they do their pizzas, they do not really have a crust, which is one of the reasons why I'm not the biggest fan since I do enjoy eating pizza crusts. One of my coworkers did really enjoy this place though, so to each their own! I also did not find any of their pizzas or even the cheesy bread to have any chewiness in the dough, and I love when there is that chew, so unfortunately just did not find their food to be anything special and preferred the Papa Gino's across the street. I've only ordered pizzas and chicken wings so this review is based only on those time. This is located near Star Market and Rite-aid, close to the highway. Chicken wings are good but nothing over the top. Their spiciest sauce for the wings are spicy but nothing crazy. Pepperoni pizza are delicious! Size large is seriously huge. Hawaiian pizza is not bad but not my favorite. I think this place is great for simple food, such as pepperoni pizza for football nights. Prices are reasonable and they accept credit cards. My family has used 5 star quite a few times and it was the better of the 3 or places we tried so far. Well idk what happened in the last 2 months but our last order wasn't as good. Sauce was different and the pizza was slightly under cooked(soggy in the middle). Order a veggie pizza and it's like it was an after thought. Instead of putting the veggies between layers of cheese or under it it was just tossed on top and basically charred crunchy (bad not crunchy good) veggies. I have been a customer here for a very long time, they've never done anything like they did tonight. They told me when I ordered that it would be between 45 minutes to an hour. After an hour and a half I tried calling, they put me on hold and never came back to the phone. After another half hour I finally got through to someone and I said it's been close to two hours are you planning on delivering my food. He said they were busy and still working on it. So I said you're working on it, it's been two hours. He then started to scream at me and said I was screaming at him. He never once said sorry or apologized for the delay and instead just wanted to scream at me. So we had some choice words for each other. It was just BLAND. I ordered a cheese calzone and even with the accompanying sauce, there just wasn't much flavor. I'm sure if I added some other ingredients, I could rectify this one, but I wish the marinara were a little more bold in flavor. I also ordered the ziti and meatballs. No flavor! I wish they had a spicy sauce that you were allowed to sub in. I know that you are trying to cater to a myriad of tastes and gastric sensitivities, but it would be great for pizza places to have a spicier option for those who enjoy bolder flavors. Even the meatballs could have used a boost. Everything was well-made. Pasta was cooked nicely, meatballs were a great texture, and the calzone was super crispy and loaded with cheese. They will go out of their way to call you and let you know if they're missing an ingredient or suggest a menu item. I highly recommend the vegetarian type pizzas or cheese ones.
