Really big and spacious had the World Cup on all the screens ton of space at the bar did a big pick up and Takeout order business as well. Had a nice big booth. The bread that they brought out with the oil was great and fresh hot we started with the fried raviolis some of the best I've ever had really fast really fresh crisp not too much breading. I got the chicken Parm with penne was great fresh really really beautiful and my girlfriend got a braised rib sandwich with a side Caesar very delicious very great combination and we got the salted caramel cheesecake for dessert which was a great bowels of the salt and the caramel great service. Everything was going great until our pizza was served and included fruit flies -- which we did not include when ordering. We brought this up to the server, whose response was "we treat for them, but all restaurants experience these". This is a nice spot if you're craving quick and reasonably priced Italian food in Quincy, especially pasta. I really like the ravioli -- the mushroom ravioli and chicken cacciatore in particular is delicious. The other pastas are pretty solid too, but flavors can vary. I've had the Bolognese on different days and sometimes it tastes better than others. I also enjoyed the hot honey pizza and the Italian street fries appetizer -- both worth trying! Service is usually quick, and it's easy to get seated without much of a wait. I will say I wish water refills were a bit more frequent, but otherwise the staff is friendly and helpful. Such a tasty Italian Restaurant located in Quincy Center! Truthfully, I had no idea it was a local chain, but they have numerous locations in MA. I went on a Wednesday, and there is a $20 prix fixe 3 course meal every Wednesday! I think it's an awesome price for great food -- even though I didn't get it this time around. I ordered the Scallop and Pear Salad while my friend got their mushroom ravioli. I loved the candied walnuts, crispy prosciutto and pickled pears it came with. There were tons of fresh scallops as well which was great. The salad was an easy 10/10 for me. My friend mushroom ravioli was really tasty as well, creamy and decadent. Service was alright, the waitress forgot my friend's drink and we had to remind her to get it for us. Cute restaurant vibes/environment -- could see it being a great spot for date night! Evviva had a shaky start with service early on, but they have really gotten into the swing of things and I now recommend them wholeheartedly. Their gluten free options are great and they operate a reverse kitchen, where allergenic foods are prepared in a smaller separate area with the bulk of the kitchen run allergy safe. They have a good selection of beers (including gluten free), wine and cocktails. The ambience is casual and clean. Definitely recommended! read more

Viva Evviva Trattoria! Not sure why this cute and new Quincy Italian restaurant only got 3.5 stars. It definitely deserves more. It is so warm and cozy inside, like a Christmas blanket LOL. We have been here before but came back after shopping the Kilroy Holiday Market. They have exceptional Italian food. From their Gluten-Free Pizza to salads and pasta, everything is so fresh. The staff is super friendly and they seem to enjoy their job when we dine here. For parking, there is street parking or a garage which is great and also inexpensive. I went with 4 other friends to this location, I originally had my first experience to this set of restaurants In Stoneham. We had an enjoyable experience and meal here. We started off with appetizers first for all 5 of us and then we each had our own entrees and desserts. Our server Mandy was very friendly and bubbly with us and she made sure we had everything we needed in a timely manner. We sat close to the windows so we had lots of light and the atmosphere was comfortable and spacious. I would definitely come again and try something else, either here or other locations. read more

As most my follower know, I'm a foodie and love to write about great restaurants. About a year ago Evviva Tratoria opened in Quincy. It was a welcomed addition to the restaurant scene. For years Quincy has been fairly limited on the selection of restaurants. I was fortunate enough to go to the opening party at Evviva to catch a glimpse of what it was all about. At the event I had the opportunity to try many of their dishes from pizza to pasta and a great selection of appetizers. The food was nothing short of amazing! I was immediately hooked! The menu has something for everyone and options for glutton free dishes. My kids love the bread served at the beginning of the meal - it's super fresh and is accompanied by olive oil. Some of my faves are the Italiano Sandwich and the chicken broccoli Alfredo pasta. Evviva has a very cozy bar with a focused selection of wine and creative cocktail list. I tried the Joel Gott Pinot Noir which was an excellent pairing with many of their dishes. I'm a margarita fan and they make a killer one !! Next question is ...how is the service .... Nothing short of outstanding! I met one of the bartenders Carmela - she was very attentive and knowledgeable of the menu/wines and cocktails and makes a fantastic margarita- see the pics! Great apps! My favorite was the Italian street fries. Never had eggplant in my fries and thought it was very innovative . The chicken wings was another favorite of mine. The sweet tangy sauce was perfection along with the crisp of the chicken. Solid option when looking for your basic Italian and American food fix and have a group to feed. We stopped by to grab a quick pizza for lunch and kept things simple with a cheese pizza. Their cheese pizza features a softer doughy crust. We were all fans of it and a large was plenty for 2 adults. Pizza was reasonably priced for the quality and size. As for the menu, I was also very impressed by range of gluten free options and non-alcoholic beverages. We asked for some additional time to decide what we would be having. We ordered fried ravioli for and appetizer and I ordered a salad for dinner my son ordered braised short ribs for dinner. I feel bad writing this, but this was such a bad experience. We had the kindest waiter and staff, but the food was worse than if I can cooked my own dinner. And I'm a terrible chef. The GF pasta was basically raw and the "dinner roll" could have been used as a hockey puck. The restaurant also could have been dimmer, it was a harsh ambiance. When she comes back to bar her focus is the register to put in orders. So she leaves 5 people at the bar waiting and ignored. Worst experience ever. Our first clue should have been that there was only one other party in the restaurant. Ordered their gnocchi with marinara sauce. The marinara was so acidic it was almost inedible. The gnocchi had no taste at all! We contacted the general with no response and then escalated to the chief operating officer. Also no response. I am SO excited to have Evviva Trattoria in downtown Quincy, MA!! Its menu is a refreshing break from the standard fare of the surrounding restaurants! I have been there in person once (nice atmosphere/ casual) and my family & I have ordered take- out twice now. The menu options are varied: awesome appetizers, great meal options that are generously portioned and VERY flavorful! The service was friendly and professional. Evviva's manager came over to check on our satisfaction with the experience. One of our friends is GF- so she was thrilled with a full menu of options for that consideration. Bartender was not friendly and forgot our drinks until we asked about them once our food came, but she seemed unfazed about forgetting. We were really looking forward to trying Evviva Trattoria, but unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing from the start. We were told the food would take about 20 minutes, but it ended up being 45 minutes with no communication or updates. While we waited to be seated, no staff acknowledged us--we were left standing there trying to get someone's attention, and it felt like we were being completely ignored. Once we were seated, it took 15 minutes for our server to come over. He gave us water and then walked away without saying anything--not even a greeting or taking our order. I understand that restaurants can get busy, but this went beyond that. The lack of basic communication, courtesy, and attentiveness made it feel like we didn't matter at all as customers. After we were done with garlic bread and bread she took my order which I got to go. Then the hostess clearly saw a man in a wheelchair and his service dog struggling to get through the door and she just watched him. I had my son open the door for the man. It looked like a over crispy Chicken breast with skin on, swimming in a chicken broth with lots of other stuff on plate, presentation was dreadful. Gnocchi , heavy and not good. Did not eat any, Amanda offered to take off bill or replace it with whatever. I was over it, So I eat some of my girl friends Lasagna ( all cheese) 2.0 so it is what it was. Tried this place last night with some family members. The menu is quite extensive and they have a good amount of gluten free options including cauliflower crust pizza! Yay! So I'll start with the cons. The calamari breading wasn't great. To get good calamari you need good breading. Back to the drawing board on that. One member of our party found the risotto lacking cheese also. The pros: great mocktail particularly the tropical mule. The pizza I ordered was also very good. The Caesar looked good but I didn't try it. We were able to walk in w/o a reservation which we were lucky. The staff & our waitress were very attentive and get an A for effort. I heard about this restaurant online and was excited to try it. Upon entering I was greeted with friendly, but seemingly eager staff. The restaurant itself was nice as well. Our server was great and explained that they had just opened. We ordered our food and after what was a reasonable amount of time, one of our dishes came out, however, mine did not. Fast forward about 20 minutes still no meal. Eventually the server comes and asks if my food had come yet, but sadly it had not. She apologized and then after another 20 minutes my food came. The food itself was actually pretty good, although I felt that the eggplant I had ordered was much too large for the bread. I understand that they had just opened, but, the primary reason to go out to eat is for food yet I waited about an hour to eat. I typically don't cause a fuss but do feel as though I should have received some sort of compensation. I was not offered anything only told that no one had made my food. So, should you go here?
