We're done with Pat's. Been supporting them for more than 25 years but things are just not the same. Delivery times are way off from when they give you the delivery window. When you call to ask where the order is they always say "we're SO busy tonight". Isn't that the point of being in business to stay busy? Maybe they need more drivers??? What really bothers us is that after placing an online order we arre always given a survey. Many, many times we have complained about their deliveries being late. I called Pat's pizza to place an order for pick-up. The lady on the phone taking the order was very sweet and easy to communicate with. I ordered a pizza that was half buffalo chicken and half cheese. I really liked the sauce and i felt like you could tell it was a homemade sauce from the chunks of tomato that was in it. I was in the area and stopped by here for lunch. Overall, the plain pizza slices were excellent. Crispy, cheesy, and full of flavor. Honestly, one of the better Boston area slices I've had. Their mozzarella sticks were pretty good too. I didn't get those half empty sticks with no cheese and the sticks themselves were well seasoned. Pat's Pizza and Catering catered a baby shower I hosted a couple of weeks ago and I can't give them enough praise! From placing my order (which the owner told me I was ordering too much!), to delivery and presentation to ultimately the taste and quality of food, everything was PERFECT! The delivery person was upbeat and very friendly, refused help in bringing the food to my back yard. The presentation of salads was explicit. The meatballs were to die for and the chicken broccoli and ziti - amazing! We didn't have many children, but all of the buffalo tenders and chicken fingers were eaten - nothing left over! Basic neighborhood pizza sandwich shop. They cater, too. Less grimy than its 386 competitors in Dorchester, but not notably better quality-wise. They recently completed a major expansion during the pandemic, but the result from a customer perspective is, meh. Suggestion? Spend a few thousand on an interior designer--nothing fancy, but at least offer customers something that is not net negative. The current feel is of a waiting room in a 15 minute oil change shop. Make customers feel good visiting the Pat's! "It's not the steak, it's the sizzle." Don't become a Starbucks which is 100% sizzle and 0% steak, but make your place more welcoming. Food is okay. We ended up saving one of the kits for about 5 days later and the dough was still fresh. I am an admitted pizza snob and loved this pizza. The cheese mix is so good and I loved the sauce, definitely New York Pizza. The dough was easy to work with and it cooked in about 8 minutes.
