Schlotzsky's was the place for lunch on Tuesday. Given my busy schedule I had to find a quick place to eat and I remember I hadn't been to Schlotzskys in a long time. A recent advertisement mentioned they had a new brisket sandwich so I pull into Schlotzsky's parking lot with a plan. Schlotzsky's building is plain on the outside and inside, but can seat a large number of customers. Plus they have a side room that can handle overflow or provide a perfect meeting location for groups and functions. On this Tuesday the restaurant wasn't busy and I was able to walk up and place my order. I ordered the new brisket sandwich, chips and a drink. I found a two-person table and sat down and they quickly brought out my food. The sandwich was very plain and lacked flavor. I found some red chili flake seasoning and used it to kick the sandwich up a notch. I like Schlotzsky's sourdough buns, which helped the sandwich. The chips are in a Schlotzsky's bag and I couldn't tell who the real potato chip maker was, but the chips were good. The restaurant was clean and orderly. I saw employees, when not waiting on customers, wiping down tables and the drink area. The sandwich was nothing to write home about, but I was able to get in and out quickly. The Board of Health score was a very good 97 and my ticket was $12.50.

Okay now I get it! New to this chain restaurant I wasn't sure how the made Deli sandwiches unique and now I know. It's round discs that are not quite a roll more of a mini loaf. I had the pumpernickel as part of the Angus Pastrami and Swiss. It's just okay I'm taste and quality based on my NY/NJ pallet. I've been to some of the country's best delis. The medium sized sandwich is plenty for any appetite. It's warm and melty cheese just enough mustard and hits the spot. I came out of curiosity and know that if I am jones'n a sandwich I can trust Schlotzyky's will be a fair choice. The staff are friendly and quick. The place is bright and clean and there is a huge parking lot. I limited them to 3 stars because they had a couple empty iced tea containers and well... it's a chain restaurant. Not bad but no wow factor for me.

The sandwich maker did not have her mask pulled up over her nose while making my sandwich. The owner saw her. He was standing right beside her.

Asked for no onions on the classic chicken, got plenty of onions. I also order the Italian with mayo and onions. Got it with no mayo nor onions. The bread was very hard and somewhat stale. Our favorite sub here. 5/5 We tried a footlong Chicken Bomb this time. I loved it. To me, the chicken tasted so much better. Both of us were surprised at how delicious the chicken was since the Steak is the most popular sub. 5/5 I signed up my first visit to be a rewards member. I was able to get $5 off my order yesterday. I earned points and my next visit I will get another $5 off. What a deal. If you like subs, grinders or hoagies, please stop by and give this locally owned restaurant a try. I ordered their large hame sandwich (the Overstuffed Sandwich), a stuffed ham sandwich and the loaded ham potato. Food came out pretty quickly and was delicious. I tried a Honeybaked Ham sandwich a few days later and the Apple Lane better was better by a mile. The overstuffed sandwich was incredibly thick and meaty. While its a little pricey for the sandwich combo (closer to food trucks prices), I was full when I got done and it tasted excellent. My buddy who recommended the place was a big fan of the loaded potato and it seems like a much cheaper meal if you're on a budget. With regard to purchasing a ham for the holidays, the price for their ham was $1-6 cheaper per pound than the Honeybaked Ham Company. Ham tasted comparable. The inside isn't super fancy, more a hole in the wall feeling but staff was polite and no issue with service. When I reported their fountain was out of Coke Zero they promptly changed it.

The restaurant was clean and the staff was friendly and even talked about being a Raiders fan with my hat (RaiderNation). Now to the food. These were probably the absolute best fingers I've ever had. The outside was crispy perfectly seasoned, I got the mild which had a touch of heat to them but more flavor than heat which I like, the chicken was cooked perfectly. I was pleasantly surprised but how good they were. The sauce they used had a good taste and texture and went great with the seasoned fries. I tasted cayenne pepper in my chicken, which I'm not sure if that is the secret ingredient. I had the loaded fries. They were really good because they are drenched in nacho cheese. She had medium hotness and on her chicken and she said it wasn't very hot. She wanted a "buffalo" hotness, which I guess is their "hot" flavor. My other kids want to try it, so we will probably be back. I will most likely have the loaded fries again. The service was great. The employees were nice and our food came out quickly. The atmosphere was up beat and decor was hip. The restaurant and bathrooms were clean.

The food is both good and plentiful. I ordered the 4-piece tender meal, and wife got the 3-piece tenders. We split a large order of hand-cut fries, which was well worth it. The dining and seating areas were noticeably clean. Additionally, the restaurant is easy to get to with plenty of hassle-free parking. Cons: The total bill came out to $30 for 7 tenders, two drinks, and a large fry, which feels a little on the higher side. Also, the cashier was somewhat hard to understand (though that could just be due to low mumbling). Thumbs up / Thumbs down: Thumbs up -- I would absolutely go back and recommend it to others.
