    Burnt cheese sticks.
    Justin R.

We ordered our pizzas online 45 minutes prior to us picking it up. We showed up and was told the pizza was not ready and would be done in five minutes. I walked back in after 5 minutes and was told the pizzas were done. The gentleman walked in the back and came back to inform me they had to remake a pizza. It would be another 10 minutes. After 20 minutes, we got our pizzas. However, the cheese pizza had many bubbles, and the cheese sticks were burnt on the bottom. On top of all of this, I never received an email to write a review for the store.

large sausage & mushroom pizza from Marco's Pizza in Madison, AL.
    Tom D.

Ordered a large sausage & mushroom on the way home from work last night. The person at the counter told me it would 15 minutes, I came back w/i that time frame and my pizza was ready. Pizza was decent tasting, not awesome, but good. I would come back again some time Marco's Pizza is not up to the standards of pizza found in the Northeast, but for this area, the pizza deserves a 4 Star rating.

3 topping large pizza, after I ate a few pieces!
    Bill B.

I love Marco's pizza. Marco's is my favorite pizza in the area. We ordered a large 3 topping pizza, a sub, and a salad. The pizza was delivered super fast! It was extremely hot and fresh. And most importantly had a great taste. The total before tip was $27.

The burrata, imported directly from Italy, is absolute perfection: rich, creamy, and unforgettable. The Valentina salad ties it all together -- crisp, bright, and crafted to complement the meal instead of competing with it. The pizza is flawless. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. I went to undergrad at Mississippi State University in Starkville and there was a Lost Pizza there; I think this is a small chain that got its start in Mississippi, actually. It certainly shows in the fun, bluesy, Delta-influenced decor. The vibes are great! I was a little surprised, though not displeased, to find that this is an order at the counter joint. The cashiers were bubbly and nice. Our order took a short time to come out but nothing crazy. Drinks are self-service and the drink cups are cute. There's plenty of room to find a more private place to sit. We split the spinach and artichoke dip appetizer and a small Beekeeper pizza, which I get the impression is limited-time. It comes with pepperoni, basil, and a drizzle of honey. You can choose between thin or thick crust, which is nice; we went for thin. The spinach and artichoke dip came out first. It was a pretty bougie take on the appetizer, with a thick layer of melted mozzarella on top and a couple of red pepper flakes throughout that made it punchy. It was crazy hot temperature-wise too. The chips were very thin and had some trouble breaking through the mozz on top and frequently broke when trying to dip. We wound up using a fork to break up the cheese and then scoop dip onto our chips. That helped a lot. Our pizza came out shortly afterwards. We ordered a small. I will agree with other reviewers who said the small is *quite* small. If you came with an appetite, it'd be on the small side for a meal. That said, for our purposes, it was a great size to split with the dip for a more reasonably sized lunch portion. The pizza was quite good. Not overly saucy, with crispy crust and gooey cheese. The pepperoni cups were crispy and delightfully greasy, and the honey on top was a great addition that complemented the flavors well. I'd happily reorder this pizza. Overall, definitely a chill place to grab a pie and hang out! Would be happy to try some tamales some time too. Made me nostalgic for MSU even though I never made it to the Lost Pizza there; job well done of recreating the "feel" of the state. A nice visit for sure!

There's ample parking and the interior looks nice enough; kind of a fun Italian mafia theme with lots of comfortable booths and an attractive bar with a good TV. Both the restaurant and the women's restroom were very clean. We entered right after opening but were made to feel quite welcome by the waitstaff. Our waitress brought our menus, including a lunch menu! I love a lunch menu. My mom and I both ordered the lunch portion of the spaghetti carbonara. She enjoyed her sweet tea and I had a diet soda. The entrees come with a piece of garlic bread. I thought the portion size and price were both perfect for a lunch serving. The garlic toast was crispy and buttery. We enjoyed our spaghetti carbonara. It's not made with eggs and cheese in the traditional way, but instead uses Alfredo sauce, which is a little disappointing to me. I remain on the hunt for that kind of carbonara in Huntsville. Still, it was a good Alfredo sauce, the pasta was cooked well, and there were ample little bacon bits. Pleasant visit, nice place for lunch -- give them a try for some solid American-Italian food if you're in the area!

When we got into the parking lot, we thought they were closed - not a car in sight. But I saw a tiny open sign and insisted that between that, and the hours on their website, they must be open. My friend and I insisted differently. She went in and, guess what? They really were open! When we walked in and saw a sign for happy hour. Bonus! We were set. We each bought a draft for a dollar off and purchased a few of the $5 apps. The garlic knots are noted in several reviews so that was a no brainer. We also ordered the beer cheese with pretzels and our friends ordered the spinach dip with tortilla chips. I can't tell you how many beers there were, let's just say plenty. The beer was icy cold, perfect for another 95 degree day. Yelp didn't disappoint, the garlic knots were soft, pull apart deliciousness. The accompanying pizza sauce was just ok. The beer cheese as good. The accompanying pile of soft pretzel bites would have been better without so much salt. I didn't try the spinach dip. Nobody else seemed very thrilled with it. It came with tortilla chips - I don't know what kind they were but even they didn't look good. Beer Hog is designed for fun. Pool tables, dart boards, a small arcade, indoor corn hole and an array of daily activities including Harry Potter trivia night, line dancing night and live music on the weekend. There was quite a bit of patio area which will be great once our inferno weather pattern breaks. There are a couple rooms available to rent for various size events. We spoke with one of the 3 owners. The three of them designed and built out the entire interior. The owner we spoke with told us how they built the bar and every table in the building. They did a great job identifying and executing the unusual repurposing of the old library. Now that school is restarting, patrons need to mindful of afternoon traffic. If you don't know Hughes Road, just know it's a zoo when all of the schools let out. We'll definitely be back. The garlic knots alone are enough to guarantee that.

We were there for a late lunch, so we basically had the run of the place. Our server was very sweet, non-intrusive, and--though she did forget about a caesar salad until reminded after entrees were served--overall did a great job. Drinks were refilled promptly, etc. The food? Eh, it was fine. The garlic styx (why do they spell it this way, ARGH) were pizza dough, not actually "bread," and holy CRAP was there a lot of garlic on them. I mean entire cloves coating it. I don't mind garlic so I wasn't mad, but it was a bit much. The side of marinara was adequate in both taste and volume, but tasted jarred. I got the 10-layer eggplant. Now, I love eggplant parm and I see where they were going with this, but it was just SO cheesy. I love cheese and marinara and eggplant and all that jazz, but this singular dish probably contained 2 lbs (no joke) of cheese condensed into a 5"x5" square. I know there was eggplant in there (finely sliced, like on a mandolin thin). I know there was sauce in there (there was some swirled around the dish). However, all I could taste was...cheese. This is the first, and likely will be the last, time I ever complain about too much cheese. Practical notes: I didn't see any super dinginess like other reviews state, but I also didn't go to the bathroom. Your mileage may vary. Parking is a niiiiiiiightmaaaaaaare even when the restaurant isn't busy. Make sure your parallel parking skills are up to date or try and squeeze into one of the lots. Portions are large, so order accordingly. If you order something with cheese and are even remotely sensitive to dairy, bring your Lactaid and triple the dose.
