We frequent this Donatos often for carry out, and the occasional dine in. Inside is always clean and pizza is always hot and fresh. Exceptional customer service e this most recent time. Kid got stuck in traffic so we started eating without her. By the time she got here it was cold. They were super sweet to reheat it for her so it was warm when she arrived. They get a one rating because it doesn't let me do a zero rating. I've eaten there multiple times and tried delivery several times.whatever you order for delivery, they will be out of. They are always out of the gluten free crust and usually out of the cauliflower. The cauliflower crust is pretty bad. The gluten free is decent. Really I've never had better than marginal food there, and typically it's bad with bad service. I'd just advise avoiding it and trying something else for most people. For those of us that require a gluten free diet, just pass it by at all costs. Don't even think about it. No pictures because it really doesn't deserve any. read more

Pros: I ordered a calzone online, then called to request extra sauce. Both of these actions went well, as did the delivery. In fact, the delivery was 20 minutes earlier than estimated, and the delivery gentleman was friendly and professional. Cons: The delivery was to a hotel, and no flatware or napkins were included. The calzone was ok. The crust wasn't like the normal fresh pizza dough I'd expect. It didn't rise. There was plenty of pepperoni inside, but very little mozzarella cheese. I had to repeat my order twice and yet they still didn't make my pizza right. On top of it, I ordered a small and it was $15. And they didn't tell us the price had changed until we noticed it after we paid wondering why we were charged so much. The pizza was the worst pizza I've had in my life next to Totino's. I asked for half cheese and half chicken bruschetta. All they did was take off the top sauce on the other half with all the toppings. And $5 for 2 drinks. That's expensive. With a good attitude, we returned our pizza and they refunded our entire order with a good attitude and even apologized. I was more than OK with paying for what we ate. However, they went above and beyond to refund our order. For that, I am giving them five stars for respect. This place may not be for me but others may still like it. SO seeing there was a Donatos Pizza only a few miles off my I-65 journey south, I thought - YES, call it in and go eat some Ohio Style Pizza! This pizza was the exact Donatos from Columbus OH that I know and love. So refreshing to get some pizza like this outside of Ohio. Very poorly managed and extremely overpriced. With better management/training/policies, they could justify their higher cost. Two basic pizzas will cost you over $30. But the inconsistency of the experience is frustrating. We always order our pizza pie-sliced. Otherwise, they cut it into tiny squares (which might be fine for sharing with a little league team, but really awkward for adults.) It is RARELY cut correctly, in spite of the order taker assuring us that they understood - PIE sliced. When it comes out wrong, the staff never seems to care. They might offer to make you a new one (not always), but that means standing around for 40 minutes or so. (You'll be lowest priority if you go this route. And with the horseplay in the kitchen, you doubt they'll do it right the second time.) We always order "Hand Tossed", which, if you order from their website, apparently defaults to pie-sliced. Even going this route, and adding custom option for pie-sliced, they get it wrong. We make this mistake of giving them another chance every 6 months or so, hoping they've improved. Happened to see the lights on at this shop and made a U-turn to get there. Since all the other shops were closed there was plenty of parking. When we walked in there were no other customers and it appeared that they were cleaning up. The manager took our order and even gave up an upgrade.. a medium for the price of a small. The wait wasn't long. Shop was empty so no line because they close at 10:30. Good customer service. The pizza seems like Chicago style deep dish they way the pizza is cut. It's not really thin crust. So maybe between NY style and Chicago style. Fresh pizza and hot! The a good variety of toppings. Seems closer to an authentic pizza place the ones you find across the country. It's inside a shopping plaza and easy to find. Parking there's plenty. That atmosphere is family friendly from I could tell. The place is clean. It's good for small groups. The staff are friendly. Overall didn't care for the sauce and the pepperoni had no flavor. I will say that this would be a great pizza for picky children. The meatballs - also arrived cold but in contrast to the pizza, the meatballs had great flavor. Asiago garlic cheese twists - I wanted to love these. You know I really feel bad giving this location a one (1) star rating... In reality it should be a one and one half (1 1/2). The taste, quality and ingredients were without par. However the process to get it was horrific! I experienced a whole lot of apologies but my time was ticking away and wasted. Half way through the process I was asked if I wanted the other pizza remade as well? Really? I don't know, you tell me. After spending $30.00 for two (2) pies would you want a pizza that was sitting under a heat lamp for almost 30 mins? NOT HERE. During my wait I saw numerous customers come in and experience a plethora of issues, wrong name on order, wrong order etc... Forty five (45) minutes later I was out the door after what was supposed to be a simple call ahead pick up pizza. You can order a great salad from here. Most pizza places have just lettuce and the salads are bland. They have great flavor and great portions. Mine even had spinach leaves mixed in! Great thin crust pizzas and subs. I think they put a garlic butter on the bread for the subs, which gives it its own unique flavor. Delivery is fast, friendly, and food is always warm. They even called us to let us know we had a $10 off coupon added to our order, just because we are a recent customer. I appreciate the customer service. read more

Donatos Pizza was recommended to my husband and me from our movers who are from south AL. They said if you want New York style pizza this is the place to go. We had a place that we went quite often down the street from our place in Dallas and were hoping Donatos might fill our pizza void. Their large single topping pizzas were about $14.50 but they had a special for a large single topping pizza with either cheesy garlic bread or cinnamon twists for $12.99. Not a bad deal. We got a hand tossed mushroom pizza with the cheesy garlic bread. It was ready when we got there but the cashier seemed to have a bit of trouble finding our order. Been eating there about once a year for the last 15 years. I can tell you from experience that they have not remodeled the interior since the day this place opened! All the pictures on the walls have had all of their colors bleached out by the years and years of exposure to the fluorescent lights. Other than that it's really delicious pizza. I never order the subs or anything like that. Strictly pizza. It's moderately expensive. Which is why I don't eat there but maybe once a year. But it's always good! No complaints. Pizza was pretty good, and the staff seemed friendly... but still the service... I ordered in advance online. When I went in to get the pizza I told them the two names it might be under. They then needed the phone number to find the order so I could pay. I sat there for 15 minutes and when I went up and asked for water while I waited they asked for what types of pizzas I ordered again. They needed the names of the types of pizzas after already being given my name, number and the pizza types as I paid earlier. Turns out they were sitting on the counter getting cold the whole time (as I paid they were already sitting there, why didn't you go look at the two pizzas as I paid to see if they were mine? That's what pizza chains do)... Maybe I got someone in training? They did look younger. Friendly but... That is still frustrating.
