Just ate an italian calzone from the Schlotsky's on Joe Battle. It was absolutely delicious, I can't imagine a "fast food" calzone being any better than this one. I seriously doubt I'll come back to this location anytime soon. I am leaning more towards never, though. Things were not great for me. The other reviews are pretty low and I can see why. I stopped by before going to Summer Moon Coffee next door the other day. I got a turkey avocado salad and sandwich. They took around 20 minutes to give me those two items! The young guy who was helping me was ok. Yeah, just ok. He sort of kept me hanging and waiting for my order. I didn't see other cars aside from one behind me. He asked me to repeat the order. The order was still wrong! I asked for no mayo in the sandwich and it had tons of it. It was 15 bucks and change for these two items! Next time I'll just do it myself at home...like I should've done in the first place. Surprisingly, the food was good (aside from the mayo and mediocre service). Oh and another thing...they were out of most salad dressings! Thankfully I had Ranch at home! SMH! That's shaking my head for those who aren't familiar with that acronym. I cannot recommend this location to anyone. Just go next door to the coffee shop. You might appreciate that suggestion. read more

So you walk in and are greeted by the overwhelming smells of fresh,.....NO, not baked sourdough bread, but brewed COFFEE. apparently they share a "food space" with a coffee shop next door and there is no partition between the two, so the coffee overwhelms Shlotzkys baked bread and Cinnabon smells, were there any to BEGIN WITH. Yes this is a Cinnabon location inside the Shlotzkys, a two-fer as it were, I guess. Because they have ovens and could bake cinnamon rolls with them as well as bread. But the rolls in display looked severely DRY, cracked icing and I could smell no fresh baked cinnamon from them, just that, by now, ANNOYING PUNGENT smell fo coffee thst permeats the entire building your experience there. LOOK, I like coffee, and it's smell, when that's what I'm after, but now when I'm dining for a sandwich or something else. Imagine this set up with a pizza place, which Schlotzkys has, overwhelmed by bold black coffee smells instead. NOT appetizing, and join can't get away from it if dining IN, because there's no door or partition or border between the two. I'm sure it's great for business for the coffee shop, to waft the smells of their product all over the court an entice people to come have a cup, but it overwhelms the other establishment, and lingers in the nose after leaving. But enough about the smell of the place, the have a bell in the counter, I don't know if this is because they are short help and no dedicated counter person but now one was at the counter and I had to ring for them. The menu is backlit bright white, but the letters are a pale Color, and a very thin font on the descriptions of the sandwiches. I had bi-focals and had to ask what was in the sandwiches. After I sat down to wait for my food, A couple came in and we're trying to order and after several minutes the young lady said " I'm sorry, but can you tell me what's in the original sandwich? I can't read your menu board. It's Soo bright" So I'm not the only one. I understand this is a corporate issue to have the menus like that, but it's bad. if you can't read it, people aren't going to order from it. I went with a medium Original, I asked for it not to be dry so extra mustard and special sauce. Rrh recipe has changed since I last had one, literally decades ago, it use to come with olive tapinade, all diced up and spread on the bottom bun. Now it's just a few black sliced olives tossed on the special sauce on the bun. It was cut in half, all the ham was in one half , hardly any on the other, the salami and cappicola I think it is, was spread out more evenly but I would say it was maybe 1/4 meat total. It needed more meat. I could have doubled it for $2 and maybe I should have. But this sandwich would not have been worth $9.69 plus tax. The bread was over proofed. Huge bubbles in the bread around the outer edges. And barely any mustard, I'd asked for extra. Three red onion rings and 3 tomato slices, that was good, but only a few strings of lettuce, it needed a nice palm full for a medium size. This thing is about the same size around as a Whopper. But with more bread. The filling to bread ratio was off, it needed more "stuff" but it didn't taste too bad. I added more mustard ehm I got home. The outside edges where it wss over proofed was crunchy from all the air bubbles. This is supposed to be toasted in the inside but couldn't see any toast color and it didn't appear to be. It was slightly warm when I got it and some of the cheese was melted a little, but it needed more heat and more melt. I actually felt it had been tossed in a microwave for about 30 seconds. The place was super clean, but they had no customers. After taking my and the couples order the counter person disappears again to the back. No one ever offered to upsell me a combo or a Cinnabon or anything. I ordered the sandwich, after all my menu questions I was asked if that's all I wanted and I said yes I think so. That was it. It took about 8-9 minutes to come out. I dont know if they are slicing meat fresh, or what, but nearly 10 minutes for a sandwich seemed a bit long but maybe the person was the only employee??? Any they need to make some changes, get some help, food quality, close off that coffee shop. I see lots of bad reviews....I don't think my experience was TERRIBLE, but I don't think I'll drive all the way to the one place in town for mediocre food & service for that price read more

On road-trip back to San Diego/Los Angeles and mom craved a Schlotzky's. I used to eating their smoked turkey sandwiches often in Austin area, yet would occasionally be unhappy from time to time, but not this time. Wanted to leave positive review since I do not think it deserved such a poor rating. 2/5? The sandwich tasted fresh, it didn't take that long at all, there wasn't an overwhelming coffee smell-I don't even care for coffee, the place was clean and organized, and the service was great! We had issue at register where it wouldn't come up on their end as a sale and tried 3 times and the supervisor gave it to us for free. I was more than satisfied. Onward we go!.. read more

While the restaurant appeared to be nice and clean, I wished the food that we received looked liked the pictures that they advertised. In the picture it looks like a big sandwich filled with meat, cheese, and toppings. The sandwiches we got was mostly bread then anything. The soup I ordered wasn't hot. My son ordered the pizza and again it was mostly bread and hardly and cheese even though it was supposedly a double cheese pizza. On a good note the cashier was friendly. read more

Reading the reviews surprises me because I have never had any issues there and everyone has always been friendly.. The food always comes out tasting delicious to my liking. If you want hot sauce there are bottles of it in the window to grab like you would a straw or anything else you might need. The restaurant is always clean and is bright. If using gps use google maps, not the one on Yelp!! hate when Yelp does this.. tried schlotzsky's for the first time when i saw there was a free small sandwich promotion for getting the app. the ham and cheese on sourdough was better than i expected. Got the groupon and came back and tried the tuscan sandwich (turkey avocado on ciabatta). I recently moved near the area and decided to give this place a try. The inside is very clean and large, and they also have another restaurant called Moe's that you can walk over to. I usually love Schlotzsky's, but this location has given me a bad taste for them. I've ordered here several times, and every time I order from here there is always something wrong with my order. The first time, I ordered a tortilla soup, mind you the soup is about $4-5 dollars for an 8oz. They literally filled the soup less than half way, which was like 3 ounces. Not even the size of an actual cup.I had like two spoon fulls. The second time, I ordered a chicken ceasar salad to go, I got home and noticed they didn't even give me any salad dressing to add to my salad. I also had ordered a sandwich with no tomatoes, and every time.. there ARE tomatoes. It's just careless service. I wouldn't say this if it only happened once but it never fails. Their prices aren't cheap either, so I expect quality, filling food. I am a fan of the Schlotzsky's on Lee Trevino. Their customer service and order quality are much better. Wow. I will not be returning to this location. Tonight i went through the drive thru and ordered a sandwiches and a cup of water. When I got home I was wondering why my bill was higher then normal. I looked at my receipt and I was charged $2.79 for a cup of tap water. I can understand paying a little bit extra for the cup and some ice but to pay 2.79 for a cup of tap water is ridiculous. After a long hard week of being and working with the public as an " Essential Employee," I decided to stop by Schlotzsky's for a good sandwich for dinner on my way home. To my surprise there was a long line. No problem, I don't mind waiting as I have patience. Finally I placed my order, paid and went home only to find out I am missing chips, no napkins, and missing an extra cookie that I ordered. It's a little disappointing having to find this out after a long day. & the simple fact that I was charged for these missing items. I won't let this discourage me from visiting Schlotzsky's in the future and am not looking to get anything for free but I hope this " franchise" can set forth a corrective process to ensure this does not happen again. Tried to order online, but the site couldn't connect to this location for online ordering to work. So I called in the order and was told it would take 15 minutes. When I arrived it wasn't ready yet, and I was informed that they were out of shrimp--that would've been nice to know before I ordered the SHRIMP and brisket flatbread. By the time my order was ready (after 25, not 15 minutes), they forgot one of my drinks, so I had to remind them about that. And on top of that, I didn't notice until I was already home that they forgot to give me the cookie from the kid's meal. Ugh. read more

Went there to eat today and I waited 20 minutes for my order. My lunch break is only 30 minutes long. After 20 minutes, I needed to leave. I politely asked for a refund. The manager didn't try to explain why they took so long or even offer a sincere apology. However, she made sure to charge me for the bottle of water I drank, waiting for food I never received. There wasn't a lot of customers, nobody was waiting in line and there were lots of empty seats. I wouldn't have left a negative review if the manager had just communicated the reason my food had taken so long, offered a sincere apology and sent me on my way. Instead of doing this, she sort of just gave me the "stink eye" and gave me a "don't let the door hit you in the rear-end on the way out" attitude. Placed an order online and unfortunately we were missing several items and a sandwich lacking a decent amount of meat. Both of the kids meals were missing their cookies, the French dip was missing it's Au jus sauce and didn't have nearly the amount of meat on as the other sandwiches. I did indeed tried to call back but not only did it go to voice mail within two rings, but I also left a message with zero response. It's not worth my time to hunt a business down to correct a wrong doing. I typically give a restaurant or fast food for that matter three try's. This will be my last time at either this Schlotzskys or Moes. They have a lot of personnel turnover which does not lend itself well. At the same time my biggest complaint is they never ever ever have fountain drinks not even coke on occasions. They also don't have a reason why. Schlotzskys and Moes parent company should really look into this franchisee. read more
