During a terrible heatwave in NYC, I felt faint and and went inside to be in the air conditioning. A nice staffer offered me a chair and got me some water. I will never forget his kindness. So 5 stars for this shop!

However, typically gift those on my list something other than food. Given my extensive inherited and elsewhere sourced kitchen equipment, utensils, tableware, it's not a place I'd ever purchase anything in those categories. For example, I'm fully stocked in enamel coated cast iron cookware, although it's nice to check out their Le Creuset selection. (Important to me since I've completely stopped using non-stick cookware.) If you follow my reviews, you may be surprised I'm also not in the market for a fully automatic espresso machine that costs over $4K! (To be precise, list their exclusive Jura Z10 for $4299.95 plus tax. Wow! Glad William Sonoma made it a better deal by shaving off that nickel - which amounts to 5 now obsolete pennies.) That being said, I'm sure William Sonoma is a great place for a wedding registry, although could easily believe their non-exclusive items are cheaper online.

UPDATE - I added a star because my designer and the owner Mario worked to make this right for me, I…read morereceived the remainder of my order today, 20 days after submitting. This order was wrapped very well and all tiles were intact. My designer was great to work with and she did the very best she could to help when we encountered these issues. I'm sure she was not happy to hear from me when things went south but she remained pleasant and focused on resolving the issue. However, UPS + NJ warehouse really did TileBar dirty here - the company really needs to work on these issues with shipping, tracking, packing large orders, and ensuring timely deliveries. I imagine most people ordering tiles are on a tight renovation schedule and can't afford delays due to these pervasive issues. If they can fix them, they could be a great company to work with. Original Review: I would not use TileBar again and wouldn't recommend them to anyone due to their pervasive shipping problems. We initially had a good experience ordering samples and working with one of their "designers", who provided excellent customer service when we had shipping issues with the sample orders (should have seen that red flag). I placed an order of basic white subway tile plus matching bullnose. The basic white arrived within 7-10 days as promised from their Phoenix warehouse but approximately 15% were damaged, and I was promptly credited for those. The bullnose shipped separately from NJ, but it never left the warehouse for some reason. A second replacement order recently shipped but is now MIA and I don't know when it will arrive. Because of this my kitchen renovation has been put on hold. I'm frustrated that my project is being held hostage and angry with myself for using TileBar... next time will just get tile from a local supplier or big box store. Something is wrong at their NJ warehouse it seems...

I ordered a set of samples. All were broken. They were not packaged with any care which does not…read moreencourage me to make a larger order. They shipped in a clamshell cardboard box and the only thing sealing it was a flimsy paper sticker which ripped before it got to me. The box was much bigger than my tiles and they didn't add filler so the tiles just shook around in the box in foam and tape when it shipped. I did love at least one of them but I have no trust in this company.
