I couldn't be happier with my experience with Sterl Kitchen. From the initial purchase to the installation of my new kitchen, their team showed professionalism and care. The installation went smoothly, and I was impressed by the quality of the work. I had my kitchen for 10 years now. Today, I returned to get a small replacement piece after a wire from a hinge broke, and they were incredibly accommodating--they provided the part free of charge! Their commitment to customer satisfaction and attention to detail make them stand out. I highly recommend Sterl Kitchen to anyone looking for high-quality kitchen products and excellent service. Thank you for making the entire process so seamless and enjoyable! read more

The most unprofessional, incompetent, untimely, father son embarrassment of a Company that has been established that don't install , can't take accurate measurements, takes months to just give pricing, can't meet deadlines and are shameless about it. read more

More than 5 star! They helped me so much as a stranger. I went 10 places and nobody would spend the time.

Great kitchen cabinets! Family run, was serviced by both sons. Father and mother also helped. Good pricing and value. This is not a fancy store but on Tonnelle Ave in North Bergen. As long as you are not turned off by a little clutter you will do well shopping here. read more

I used Sterl Kitchen & Bath when I renovated my condo over six years ago and they did an amazing job. The service from Tom Jr was exceptional. what's remarkable to me is when I recently returned just to try and find a cabinet and some small items I was treated every bit as well as when doing the larger project. I'm sure it was more of a distraction than a source of profit but you'd never know. I Highly recommend Sterl!!! JerseyCityJames read more

Why the poopie reviews?!?!? My bf and I had gone to various cabinet stores and wanted one more quote. We walked into Sterl on a whim and they were going to close.. 30 min ago (the doors were unlocked) and they were about to go to a family event... and the way they treated us?!?!? You would have thought they just opened. They did not rush us out at all! Jr was patient, professional and answered every question honestly. We showed him a picture of cabinets we wanted to match the new cabinets to and he walked through the cabinet selection to find the match.. I think we picked one, and he guided us to a more reasonably priced and better matching style. Time was ticking, and I felt badly about holding up the family, but Jr. insisted on working with us. He looked at our layout, measurements and had someone in the back price it out. While someone was pricing it out, he walked us to the counter section and carefully talked us through the colors, types, slabs and how we can make it all work. Because of Jr's understanding and quality treatment, we pretty much were decided right then and there we would work with Sterl. Once we gave Jr the cabinet measurements, he was ON IT! The cabinets actually arrived a week EARLY. And when it was counter time? They measured on Monday and were ready to be delivered on Friday. I also needed tile for my bathroom, he priced it out for me and had it delivered before I was ready to tile the bathroom. A box of tiles were broken, so I told him Friday around lunch, and he had replacements at my home by Tuesday! They really worked with us! All I have to say is give this place a try. I did not read the reviews for this place before I stepped in and I am happy I did not, because my reality is a 180 compared to the other reviews. The price was WAY better than the other stores, the customer service was SPOT on (he was texting ME *did the counters arrive?* before I could ask him, he was so on everyone) and the end results are AMAZING! I also liked the fact they are all real people. The other stores felt like I was buying a used car. Everyone was real, honest and did everything in their power to make sure I was getting the service I deserved. Not one bad attitude at all in this place. Actually, we laughed a lot. I honestly do not get the other reviews at all. (and this is coming from someone who will walk out of a place because I do not like someone's *tone*) read more

Decent prices, good selection, but absolutely ATROCIOUS service. I ordered an entire kitchen worth of cabinets from Sterl. After placing my order, and waiting until a week after the "ready" date, I called them to check on the order. I was told that the the maker of the cabinets went out of business and that they would now be happy to find an alternate supplier. When I asked when the supplier went under - they said a few weeks before. Why they didn't call me when they knew the supplier went out of business - I have no idea. So now, 1 week after my delivery date, I had to submit a new order, and wait for the entire manufacture time - again. Not happy with Sterl. If you use them, prepare to be extremely frustrated - because they just don't care about you. read more

I worked with Tom Jr to design our cabinets in 2010 and he did an excellent job then. Fast track to 2021 - 11 years later - I contacted Tom again about a broken soft close drawer track to see where I can purchase a replacement. He was able to get me not just one set, but six sets absolutely no charge! Great customer service! read more

Was looking for replacement hinges for my Armstrong kitchen cabinets and went to numerous stores, only to get the run around. Finally we found Sterl Kitchens on Tonnele avenue, where every sales person was attentive and friendly. Thomas Junior knew exactly what we needed and was super friendly and very knowledgeable - we called ahead a day earlier to see if they had what we needed in inventory, and they searched and pulled it aside for us in advance (and recommended we bring a working hinge into the store to confirm it'd work) - this level of attentiveness, knowledge and professionalism is what differentiates shopping at a family business from a chain conglomerate. Would highly recommend for your all your cabinet needs. read more

Irresponsible customer service. Never get back to my calls after couple times. Glad I didn't order from Thomas Jr. Can't imagine if I placed my order from Sterll kitchen. The old lady worked there was pretty rude too especially on the phone. Went to few blocks away and ordered my entire kitchen cabinet from other store. read more

Excellent from start to finish! First off, they had the exact cabinet type I was looking for which is a modern European style. Tom Jr modeled my exact kitchen layout on their digital 3D program down to the exact measurements, layout and colors. His knowledge, patience and attention to detail made the process easy, exciting and comforting when having to make long lasting decisions. Very fair pricing and clear communication along the way. Lastly, the final product and fix are perfection. read more

I ordered a granite countertop from Sterl Kitchens a year ago, so I was prepared to do business with them again. I visited on Friday and informed the salesman (not naming him) the key to the order is that I need the counter within 2 weeks. He said it was doable but first he needed to confirm the price, and promised to call me back with a quote. I thought he would call me on the same day. On Saturday I called and was told he will call back. Here it is 5 days (almost a week) later... no call back, no quote. No one answers at the store, and the message says "Do not leave a message..." I feel like he has wasted a week of my time. read more

We had a great experience working with Tom Jr. Our contractor recommended going to him after working with him on several projects. He was professional, gave great recommendations, and was so patient with us. We were going back and forth on cabinets, vanities, sinks, and tile. For each item, Tom Jr walked us through the pros and cons without being pushy. Aside from visiting the store, he worked behind the scenes with our contractor to make our apartment beautiful! His choices and suggestions were right in line with what we were looking for. This was our 1st apartment renovation (small apt in Jersey City) and he made the experience enjoyable! Thank you Sterl Kitchen and Tom Jr! read more

They are so rude. Walked in no one greeted us after he was done talking to a factory guy for about an hour and half he then finally came to us to. Answered one and half questions and his phone rang and he had to answer it because he claims it was the factory and made us wait. So waiting almost two hours now we got fed up and left. well, I should have known better to check the reviews first. I ordered a vanity counter top for bathroom sink. simple order I paid in full at time of order at Sterl. Tom Sr. said the order could be ready in two days and he would call me when it's ready. three days past and no call back. so, I called, Sterl said the manufacturer is closed for the Jewish Holiday, Sterl said maybe by the end of the week. I called the manufacturer myself and found out they will be closed for a week and a half. next Wednesday I called Sterl and they said they are waiting for an email with an order number. wow, all this time my order is not processed with the manufacturer. Sterl is playing the blame game on the manufacturer. I did all the phone work not Sterl about the status of my paid order. this is Sterl's fault for not knowing that the manufacturer is close for a holiday vacation. so I decided to cancel my order because as of 9 days out from my order we don't even have a process order number from the manufacturer. This is not how to run a business. read more

The customer service at Sterl Kitchens is top notch. I do not understand how past reviewers had a negative experience. The selection of cabinets offered by the store use high quality materials and woods unlike other stores in the area. Sterl and all the staff went out of their way in drafting multiple designs for the remodeling of my kitchen. After deciding on a final layout, the cabinets were ordered and delivered on time. I had several questions and concerns when the cabinets were being installed by a home improvement company, and Sterl went out of his way to make sure everything worked out to my liking and always answered my calls. I highly recommend Sterl kitchen. They will go out of their way to ensure customers are satisfied with the purchase and installation of their kitchen cabinets. read more

I would have given this establishment a negative 1 star if that was available. The owner Tom Sr. has the absolute worst social skills for someone in sales. I couldn't believe he was actually the owner. He was combative and had such a poor attitude. I had asked about cabinets that were shown on their website. He said "I have no idea what you're talking about". Tom jr. over heard and explained what it was. Why didn't the owner know? I was about to turn around and walk out, but I drove 40 mins to get there so I at least wanted to see what the cost of the cabinets were. The conversation just went downhill from there. I wouldn't buy a faucet washer from this place. If you feel like being treated like shit then shop here. read more

Horrible experience. Ordered JSI cabinets with some molding on top. Spice rack I ordered (at their suggestion) did not fit, although the measurements we had were correct (I have an apartment that was built in the 1930's)- they would not let me return. Molding was not what I had in mind at all. Whenever I called, they would not answer my calls. Emails would go un-returned as well. They have their kids running around the store which is just annoying when you are trying to make a big purchase. Some damage was also done to my cabinets from the delivery - the straps the guy put around the boxes were way too tight. I want to get replacements, but the store is closed on weekends all summer and it's just too big of a hassle to get in contact with them and get there. Told my contractor he should not recommend this place to his clients ever again. This is the worst place I have been to in a long time. The owner, Tom, is beyond rude. read more
