The quality of the cabinets is outstanding, the plywood components being able to be disassembled when they would not fit through openings, and reassembled in-situ. Each piece was meticulously crafted, the materials used are top-notch, and the finish is flawless, adding an elegant touch to our kitchen, bathroom and bedroom-built-ins. When the original, functional hardware selected by myself for some of our most unique challenges did not perform as expected, the team at KF Kitchen Cabinets worked with me to find alternative solutions and we solved the issues together. They took the time to understand our vision and offered valuable suggestions to enhance the design. The woodworking shop we used to make our radiator covers and some other custom bookcases did not do…read morewood paneling, nor did they have any recommendations for someone who did, so I went online in search of someone who could design, build and install wood paneling in our dining room. Some how, through the miracle of internet search, I found Tamas and ProWood. We hired Tamas to design, engineer, build, and install the paneled entrance to our dining room, the paneling along one wall, and the built-in bookcases along the other wall. Throughout the process, Tamas was incredibly patient with our decision making, giving us sketches to confirm his understanding of what we wanted and then CAD print outs showing us exactly how it would look once it was built. As homeowners without an interior design background, this was incredibly helpful. While his team does the actual installation, Tamas visits the job site frequently to ensure that everything is being done as discussed. Tamas is in great demand, and we had to wait in line to get our project done, but it was worth it, as it is very hard to find such meticulous craftsmanship. Plus, Tamas is just a delight to work with on projects. I would highly recommend ProWood.

But the job they did deserves recognition. Among the many people worth a shout-out: designer Chaya Uzan whose enthusiasm and ideas gave us a sense that our project was quite special; and Robbie Goldberg, our day-to-day contact and project manager, who brought a craftsman's eye to all aspects of the job. When problems were encountered, problems were fixed. An example: once we installed a new oven in the kitchen we realized that we would have to do without a favorite built-in spice cabinet. Robbie came up with ingenious fix requiring some custom carpentry so that the spice rack did not disappear but became an integral of the whole. Anthony, our renovation expert, was our first contact with A to Z. He encouraged us not to give up on what we wanted the project to look like even though other renovators had told us it was impossible to do. He also offered to answer any questions we might have along the way. Then there's Shevy, the permit and insurance coordinator. She dealt with the necessary paperwork and kept the inspectors at bay so we did not have to deal with those headaches. And last but not least, Mario, the site manager, who was there every day, hands-on, always professional and pleasant. On that note, the entire team seemed to like one another and treated us and each other with a refreshing degree of decency and consideration. To summarize: The team at ATOZ was thoroughly professional and kept us informed with clear, consistent communication every step of the way. Importantly, the team worked efficiently to stay on schedule and were fair when an unexpected issues arose, providing clear solutions. When asked if they had more Toto elsewhere, the staff said they could order online for us and it would be cheaper than getting it from Toto directly. That was tempting but since toilets are for sitting, we really wanted to test them out and see if they're comfortable first. That's the only reason why we ended up getting the toilet at another store that had a bunch of Totos on the floor

The work was clearly outlined with a well-organized schedule that respected time management, and everything was completed on time. When we approached Floorika in Park Slope, Olesia guided us through the options and suggested using unfinished flooring so we could achieve the exact finish we had in mind. Initially, we requested Select grade, but Olesia honestly explained that even Select can include minimal knots. After understanding the refined look we wanted, she recommended Select & Better instead and that advice made all the difference. Floorika also handled the installation and refinishing, and the final result is absolutely beautiful. The herringbone pattern looks precise and elegant, and the finish complements the entire space perfectly.
