We went to UHC for an island we wanted to build. The process took about 5 months, meetings to design, build/install. We're now super happy with the build quality, attention to detail, and after sales follow-up. We looked around for quality builders, and talked to a couple of firms out there. The discussions left us feeling like people would build us pretty much anything we wanted, without any thought partnership. The quality seemed marginally better than stock cabinets you could buy from anywhere. The price to quality ratios also seemed very off. George and team on the other hand, they were very thoughtful about ideas we had and how they could be applied practically, with their prior experience working on similar projects. The initial couple of meetings and design phase involved questions about our daily routine, frequently used items, things we may want to hide, etc. Basically, the kind of thinking you would want so when the work is done, you're not sitting there thinking "wish I'd thought of "this". Or SOMEONE had thought of it". We also ran the designs by a friend in Chicago who works on very high end kitchens, and she was impressed by everything we were able to accomplish in the space we had. In a 6ft x 4ft space we were able to fit in a 46 bottle wine fridge, two trash bins, 3 levels for sauces, 2 stacks of drawers with varying depths for tupperware, daily use plates etc, cutlery, miscellaneous items, 2 large pull out drawers for standing bottles of surplus alcohol (window into our life), wine cubbies for 18 wine bottles, and excess storage space for miscellaneous mixers. With our electricians pulling in power, we were able to get Hue lightstrips under the countertop and power outlets so we can work/charge stuff. Installation was shorter than anticipated, and the crew were very efficient and respectful of our needs. The entire team at UHC were very professional, and quick to respond to our questions/concerns. We would highly recommend UHC for your cabinetry needs. In fact they were referred to us by friends who had them construct a few shelves, and were so impressed by the attention to detail, build quality, and thought partnership (all attributes we can vouch for based on our experience). read more

I could not have had a better experience with George, Che, Kayla and the entire Urban Homecraft crew. From our initial call through installation, the communication, attentiveness, knowledge, guidance and patience exhibited by everyone we worked with far exceeded expectations. While we went into the process having an idea of what we wanted, George and Che helped us hone in on that vision, making sure we never lost sight of what it is we wanted to gain while adding invaluable knowledge and guidance to really make sure we maximized the efficiency of the pieces they were building. We hired Urban Homecraft to design and build a wall-length built-in in our bedroom to cover the radiator/provide additional storage and to design and install a floating dining bench along one of the walls in our living room. From the start, George, Eric, Traven, and the entire team were extremely professional, organized, helpful and creative - they understood what we were trying to achieve and provided great guidance toward creating a design with which we were extremely happy. The installation itself was a breeze, and the entire installation team was fantastic and efficient. They were able to adapt the units to our wonky, uneven walls and floors and to make both built-ins look like seamless extensions of our space. Unbelievable process!! Expert work! Last winder we approached George and his team based on a recommendation from another customer. We wanted a custom-built media center. After George's initial consultation, we decided that the first "step" in our remodeling (this may be overstating the scope of what they did) would be to reposition our kitchen island by less than 2 feet, and change the island's cabinetry. Wow, what a difference! Our living room has completely 'opened up' and feels more spacious. We lost nothing from the kitchen that we can notice - if anything, the spatial optimization has afforded us more storage. Not to mention, we got a beautiful piece of white quartz for the island surface at cost from a previous project - basically a $6000 piece of stone for $2500, and it looks amazing! also -the process. Multiple consultations, designs, customer input (all of which happen to be on Zoom because of Covid), and they have a great design team! and honestly? I don't get the sense that we paid a new york premium either! Fast workers, obeyed all Covid building protocols (this is not true of the big box contractors, like Home Depot) You will be VERY happy! I cannot express just how happy I am with the custom cabinets Urban Homecraft built for my small galley kitchen in New York. They are gorgeous! I hired Urban Homecraft to help design and build 2 facing shelving units with a joining banquette under double windows. I have an historic house and wanted the unit to respect and fit in with the style of the house. George and his team were great to work with in the design process. There were several revisions of the design, so when the building phase started, every concern had been addressed, and every detail had been worked out. Once the design had been finally approved, the shop work was finished fairly quickly. Urban built the pieces of the unit in a very logical way, so the installation process would be quick and efficient.
