Every HomeGoods is not created equal believe me, I've been to many! Each one has its own vibe, selection, and level of organization. This particular location is one I've been visiting for years. Even after moving, I still stop by whenever I'm in the neighborhood. The one thing that never changes? The constant rearranging! On my recent visit, I noticed all the décor has been moved upstairs -- it used to be downstairs. The checkout lines upstairs move much faster than the ones downstairs, which is a plus. Even though this location is tucked away in the basement, I usually manage to find what I need. It rarely disappoints and always has something worth taking home. read more

I was surprised this store did not have more to offer than the Brooklyn location. Though its is well stocked, it lacked the uniqueness and quality items you find impossible to leave behind. I ended up finding a decent electric tea kettle and possible a new pillow I may return for. But for nearly $20 each, I left the sole brand, of limited color bath sheets for other shoppers. The quality just was not there. There was limited pieces of furniture and such. Pretty average. Staff was friendly and helpful, which was a bonus. Who knew there is actually a HomeGoods in Manhattan on the UWS? It's like a block from my friends' new apartment. I was in NY to help her decorate and this was our first stop. It's surprisingly large considering it's in the city but not very big compared to a regular store. We saw some distinct possibilities here but nothing that jumped out at us. We liked a lamp but needed 2 and they only had 1. We liked a side table but it had a chunk missing on the side. Such is life when you're at HomeGoods! read more

They have a very extensive selection however too extensive for their store size... they have everything everywhere and it's just very hard to browse. If i tell you how many time i have unintentionally broken random items by just carefully passing by. They are very crowded and they should send half of their inventory to s bigger location and work on this one to look at least presentable because as off right now its giving flea market no shade. read more

Dearest Homegoods, Many before have said you are messy, your employees are lazy and your goods are cheap(ly made). But I didn't see any of that when I visited last week. Your shelves were stocked, in fact the pillow aisle was bursting. There were dozens of lamps to choose from, your furniture section was among the biggest I've seen, and there's plenty of room to navigate through it all. I stopped in specifically for a picture frame. There were so many to chose from I walked out of the store with two. Among other items I found (but sadly did not purchase): a bright blue painted console and a beautiful silver and gray pillow, both making me rethink the color scheme in my living room... And that's exactly what makes you so special, so many treasures to be found in your stores, always changing, always receiving new stuff, always inspiring. I visited this location casually looking. I ended up finding a bench I liked that was just small enough to fit in my car. (A 52in bench by the way, that I got for $80!) Everyone in the store was really helpful, but the guy who seemed to be the floor manager was particularly kind. I never got his name, but he was an average height white man with glasses and a beautiful smile (if someone here is able to identify him, please do!). He was so sweet, helped me get the bench to my car, in the rain with my coffee, all with a smile. I called the store to enquire about a rug I had seen in the morning. Because I live on the other side of the park, I wanted to make sure it was still there and also wanted to know the exact dimensions (It was not written on the rug tag). The manager simply answered: "We are too busy right now to go look at a rug. Call again around 7pm." Call me old fashioned but this was really rude. This place is great. They keep it tidy and the employees are so friendly. I had a long talk with the cashier downstairs. I didn't even buy anything. Right now they have a lot of holiday stock. They have lots if chocolate and other goodies by the upstairs registers. I spent a while looking at everything. The names are top of the line like Godiva. There are many great gift ideas. This place is great for someone just starting their first NYC apartment. The small furniture and big selection of apartment decor is perfect. Love this Home Goods. Big and for the most part an organized Home Goods location. I go to home goods mostly for the snacks and although I don't want to spill this, this particular Home goods has a great selection of snacks! 5 beautiful isles of cookies, pasta, chips, dips, water, juice, milk, candy & baking products. Downstairs is where all the other Home Goods items are, huge basement, lots of amazing items and great prices. Huge selection of bedroom and bathroom decor. Great selection of kitchen needs; pots and pans, utensils & refrigerator necessities. Nice selection of dog items, mirrors and furniture too! I purchased this beautiful desk for $85 So I was like okay I'm going to come back to pick it up because I had to go to TJ Maxx (across the street). Literally back after an hour and a half later. I was like I'm here for my desk. So they brought up my desk Before I purchased I checked everything was good. Once I saw it I was like this isn't the one I purchased It doesn't even close correctly and it has a lot of cracks on the side. I found a console table with a price of $199. I was told it was not the correct price. It has scratches and discoloring on the sides. I thought home goods was not supposed to be selling damaged merchandise at regular price and damaged items should be discounted to reveal the item has damage. I haven't been to a HomeGoods in years but yesterday I had the best customer service experience I've had in a packed Sunday store in ages. I'm so bad at remembering names (apologies), but I was helped by an incredible sales associate in the pillows upstairs, who was so kind to me after she could tell I was overwhelmed trying to pick out new things for a summer sublet. (She was like "Love, this is Your new home. Not someone else's. Make it yours." It was like she said a blessing for my new Home.) Then I met a new supervisor at the front of the store, who was busy setting up a beautiful display of summer beach towels in the front window. I stopped to tell her how pretty it was--that she was making Art--and she beamed, explained she'd only been there six months. I told her how lovely everyone had been in the store, how it emanated kindness. I'm new back to NY after years away, so maybe I was looking for every little kindness yesterday? I went into Home Goods a few weeks ago for the first time! Loved wandering around and looking at everything! Found HUGE candles for $10 (obviously got a few) and then came upon a beautiful green armchair, also purchased! But this review is truly for worker Jeffrey (w the creepy but hilarious clown mask). When I first saw him he was cheerful, politely asking people without masks to cover their faces (SO appreciated), and helping a family choose/take down/and professionally wrap up a large rug. He allowed me to interrupt his flow to request his assistance w me and the green armchair. Within minutes, he met me on the main floor w the armchair ready to go! He continued to go above and beyond when he came out to the street w me and made sure my item fit into a car (we had a few attempts) and could safely get back to my apt. Needless to say, this guy needs a salute! He was so hard working, polite, FAST, and so enjoyable to be around and helped by! Thank you Jeffrey!! read more

I love homegoods but this was is not really great. First off, the people working there and shopping there seem to not take good care of the items. i constantly am noticing things with cracks, chips, strains, or just things that are completely broken. They also do not change the prices to reflect the damages (unlike most stores). They also dont organizes stuff as well as in other home goods. For example, usually the pillows are placed in order of color, at this store there are so many, they just throw them on the shelf all mixed together. But like many discount stores, its all about the hunt. so if you are up for a search, you can find some great items that are well priced. read more

I don't know about this place. It feels like you have to dig really deep to find something not... tacky. There are some good priced housewares, though, like well-priced kettles or dish towels. Certain displays are better kept up than others, while some sections of the store look like a tornado of avid shoppers had just turned over every item in the store. This is the most horribly organized home goods I've been to. Went in there to buy a baking dish and the entire baking section is blocked off by boxes that have not been moved into their storage room. It didn't look like they were in an hurry to do so either. And when I asked one of their employees where I could get one and she points to the section and says it's behind the boxes. Needless to say I left and didn't buy anything from here. It's the season when everyone's looking to bake so you'd think they'd want to make some money. I have only been to Home Goods in the suburbs up until now but after discovering this place, I won't need to venture further than a mile away. It is conveniently located on Columbus Avenue so I can also hit TJ Maxx if I don't see what I need at Home Goods. There are good sales and I was able to get some good office gifts in my last run. It's not as crazy busy as TJ and Michael's so it's a good place to go first before tackling the crowds in the other places. I am also glad there's an alternative B B & B which seems more expensive even with their 20% coupons. read more

This is basically what Lauren said in her review - this is the housewares section of Marshall's/TJ Maxx! And I love it. The place is brightly lit, with lots of odds and ends. There is even a basement floor. I saw tons of lamps, stuff for pets, paintings, kitchenware, etc. Every household lady's dream! But underground, the store is huge and includes tables,chairs, rugs,dressers, bedding, mirrors, picture frames, vases, kitchen goods, candles, pet supplies, lamps and pretty much anything else you could possibly ever need for your home, and all at reasonable prices. It sure seems like it, as there are plenty of items throughout the store; so many different selections of every single thing. It's very easy to find two of everything, which is a plus and not very common in these stores (where things fly off of the shelves). A very special thank you to Mary Lou, who was very patient while helping 3 of us out with a very large purchase for 2 new homes on a Wednesday night near closing time. I am an absolute HomeGoods/TJX addict. Every piece in my apartment is from HomeGoods and always has been. I love the unique pieces and of course, the reasonable prices! For anyone who as been to a HomeGoods location in a suburb, prepare to be disappointed. This location doesn't carry any big pieces of furniture or decor, it's a smaller location focusing on smaller items. If you're looking for a piece of artwork, large mirror or couch/tv stand, you're better off zipping to Jersey or CT. I purchased a mirror and paid $20 to have it delivered to my apt since I had to go back to work. Not only did it never come but I received no phone call with an update. The delivery time was 6pm-10pm and of course by 10pm the store is closed so I had no one to call. I feel bad for whoever answers my phone call tomorrow morning... Not to mention, I made a purchase about 6 months ago and when it was delivered one of the legs was broken. Lesson of the day: Don't get anything delivered from this location. read more

Rugs, pots and pans (including cast iron and cuisinart!), candles, kitchen gadgets, bath towels, cups, lamps, throws, kids bedroom stuff, and of course decor and knick knacks. I love knick knacks. Cheap and cute. Probably stuff I don't need, but I cannot resist. Don't play yourself thinking you will walk out with one thing. Employees are slow and love to talk amongst themselves. But I can live with that when I'm getting a beautiful, white, shaggy rug for $20 and cups for my Moscow Mules for $10. read more

What is with all the hate towards this HomeGoods location?? Let's just be real for a second about this HomeGoods and many other similar stores: Do they often sell broken merchandise? Do they sell strange colors/prints of items? Do they cramp tons of items into a small space? Do the sales people not feel ashamed getting into fights or making fun of each other in front of customers? The answer to all these questions is YES at this particular HomeGoods, as well as at other similar stores. But who cares?! This is a pretty great store: it has everything you need for the cheapest cost in the area. Pillows, sheets, cookware, dishes, lamps, etc---all cheaper here then at BBB or somewhere else. I've had great luck at this HomeGoods, but like any similar store, you're more likely to find good stuff if you go more frequently. But it was actually a decent spot for the little household crap that you need from time to time. I got some good quality ceramic holders for utensils and bamboo cutting boards for just a few bucks. I went to Home Goods at this location for a couple of items that I needed. Its two floors of all kinds of decor for your home. First floor canisters, pots and pans, they even sell the Keurig cups at a discounted price! Second floor, frames, lighting, bathroom decor, pet stuff and towels. I didn't know what to expect, given that this was my first visit, but I have to say I was pretty pleased. The prices are reasonable, the store was organized, and it was easy to find. I would be lying if I didn't say I am already planning my next trip. You have to know what you are shopping for, otherwise, I can see how overwhelming shopping there can become. read more

I paid for a delivery service from this location the deliverer arrived 2hrs before the window. The vase I purchased was broken Rose the manager on Sat was wonderful but I went too early the next day and the Sun manager Naomi hung up the phone when I tried to arrange the exchange. Thinking it must have been an accident I called back and she hung up again. Who does that? We are not teenagers in high school. I have gone every Sat over the last month trying to redecorate my apt. Spent well over 1k and this is how a manager treats her customer. Rose your amazing, Naomi crawl back under the rock you crawled out of.
