We recently participated in the Duke's Revenge scaventour in Waikiki, and it was an absolute blast! The challenges were a great mix of both challenging and easy tasks, keeping us engaged throughout the entire experience. As locals, we had an amazing time taking part in this unique and fun activity. Our gamemaster Charlie was super friendly and helpful, making sure we had everything we needed to enjoy the adventure to the fullest. Whether you're a local or just visiting, I highly recommend this activity for anyone looking for a memorable way to explore Waikiki. It was an awesome time that we'll remember for a long time!

Had so much fun!!!! Updates while playing and made our day. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to ring your inner child

Fun, low stress way to kill an hour with kids. You stay inside the Marriott too, so good activity for when you need out of the rain. Good for kids up to about 13.

We just did the Murder Mystery Scaventour and had a great time! We did this as a meet and greet as a pre wedding event. Everyone enjoyed the puzzles and worked together. Everyone played a role on the teams. Even though we are kamaainas we still learned about different parts of Waikiki! Thank you Charlie for being the guide!

We solved it! My friend and I had an awesome time with Scaventour! We both love escape rooms and we're interested to try an "outdoor version". Using a map, simple clues, and backpack we spent one hour solving the mystery. The puzzles are all different so you won't be bored. The game master takes photos of you occasionally as you play. Suitable for kids and/or adults. Very fun!

Definitely exceeded that 3 hint limit! The room we did was the Y2K one, which was certainly a fun blast from the past room. For those who were 90s kids or fondly remember the 90s, this will definitely be your jam. The room itself was wide ranging of difficulty, while I wouldn't recommend for beginners, it's certainly got a good balance between difficult puzzles and easier ones. The room is also good for kids. Nothing jumpy with it that happens with this one, though, they might miss a lot of the references. But hey, if you're bringing your kids here you can tell them all about the things in there, "Back in my day...", and remind yourself how old you are! Anyways, don't want to say too much and give anything away. Have fun with the escape at Breakout Waikiki!

I love the whole experience of it and as someone who is confidently competitive, this more than happily scratches the itch and allows me (and my friends) to go crazy and get a little unhinged. My biggest advice is that your experience is what you make of it so whether you are a large group and you adopt a couple in or a couple who needs to get adopted in, this is a great opportunity to meet new people and just have fun. The host will do their best to run the show smoothly and fun, but at the end of the day you can really determine your fun, and let me tell you, it's also not that hard. This is one of my favorite activities to do ever since it came to Oahu because of the variety depending on who you bring or the games you play. I also love that it's fun for all ages and for anyone's level of common/uncommon knowledge. It's one of the most unique activities on Oahu (IMO) and it's so worth more than one visit.

Overall, great host and setup to make it actually feel like you're at an actual game show. There were a ton of different game challenges which allowed different people to engage. We had to reschedule one time but they were super understanding and I was easily able to reschedule on the Airbnb app! The owner Chiara, was super friendly and welcoming when we arrived! She went through all the steps and safety to ensure our experience was seamless. We brought our own designs and got them approved by her but she also has examples you can use as inspiration too. If you bring your own design, for first timers I recommend something simple with simple lines and colors so you don't feel too rushed. You also have to draw your own design on the canvas but done worry too much if you're not confident in your drawing skills. The process is very forgiving so it'll still turn out good even if you don't draw your design perfectly! We had so much fun and loved how our pieces turned out! I highly recommend booking a tufting class here to anyone!

You ever feel so angry, you want to scream and break sh*t without someone calling the cops? (SLEDGEHAMMER that plate!). (All of this is being done legally & safely, of course, with safety suits and helmets/gloves, if you decide to drop some $$ and spend some time here.) There is a good selection of shattery breakables to choose. We were given 45 minutes but the two of us finished in about 20 (I guess we had a lot to unleash!). It gets hot in the helmet/suit, especially when you're expelling all that rage, so expect a good workout (cathartic even!) Call/check out their site for discounts/promos (including Kama'aina). I called ahead to ask about any discounts for locals or birthdays, and they told me they do offer a local discount with valid ID -- nice little bonus! They also said they had availability that day, so I figured, why not? The whole experience was super satisfying. Ever feel like breaking something at work but don't want to get fired? Break n Anger is the place to let that urge out safely and legally. Here's how it works: You get to choose 2 items from the top shelf and 5 items each from shelves 2, 3, and 4 -- so about 17 items total to smash. After signing the waivers, you suit up in a jumpsuit, gloves, and a helmet. They offer earplugs too, but I skipped those -- the sound of breaking stuff is half the fun. Honestly, the time flew by -- I went all in for 10 minutes and it felt like seconds. I probably should've paced myself, but I really wanted to let the rage out. No regrets though -- it was super fun, and I can totally see this being a great team-building activity. I'm definitely planning to go back and try the premium items next time!

I've done the Depths and Timeliner and they were both a ton of fun, especially since I was basically a different person for both experiences. For the Depths I went in with a close group of friends and their goal was as fast as possible, no hints, and the most intense about solving; while I on the other hand felt I would just be in the way so I stood happily to the side drinking my energy drink. Also, can you imagine trying to solve these things while inebriated? Wild. Timeliner was a different story considering I went in with my family whose goal was to solve it by any means necessary, so we took a few hints. But I felt like I had to contribute a little more and I had a little more room to breathe and contribute without being in anyone's way. This made me realize, I actually do love escape rooms! And it's not to say I didn't have fun in the Depths, I just gotta know where I stand LOL. Something I will say is that since I had an 11 month old, I knew that it just wouldn't make sense for me to pay to play, but I would be too worried about my baby to contribute or even enjoy it - so definitely get a baby sitter, especially if you feel that the kids won't really enjoy it.
