We recently participated in the Duke's Revenge scaventour in Waikiki, and it was an absolute blast! The challenges were a great mix of both challenging and easy tasks, keeping us engaged throughout the entire experience. As locals, we had an amazing time taking part in this unique and fun activity. Our gamemaster Charlie was super friendly and helpful, making sure we had everything we needed to enjoy the adventure to the fullest. Whether you're a local or just visiting, I highly recommend this activity for anyone looking for a memorable way to explore Waikiki. It was an awesome time that we'll remember for a long time!

Had so much fun!!!! Updates while playing and made our day. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to ring your inner child

Fun, low stress way to kill an hour with kids. You stay inside the Marriott too, so good activity for when you need out of the rain. Good for kids up to about 13.

We just did the Murder Mystery Scaventour and had a great time! We did this as a meet and greet as a pre wedding event. Everyone enjoyed the puzzles and worked together. Everyone played a role on the teams. Even though we are kamaainas we still learned about different parts of Waikiki! Thank you Charlie for being the guide!

We solved it! My friend and I had an awesome time with Scaventour! We both love escape rooms and we're interested to try an "outdoor version". Using a map, simple clues, and backpack we spent one hour solving the mystery. The puzzles are all different so you won't be bored. The game master takes photos of you occasionally as you play. Suitable for kids and/or adults. Very fun!

I've done the Depths and Timeliner and they were both a ton of fun, especially since I was basically a different person for both experiences. For the Depths I went in with a close group of friends and their goal was as fast as possible, no hints, and the most intense about solving; while I on the other hand felt I would just be in the way so I stood happily to the side drinking my energy drink. Also, can you imagine trying to solve these things while inebriated? Wild. Timeliner was a different story considering I went in with my family whose goal was to solve it by any means necessary, so we took a few hints. But I felt like I had to contribute a little more and I had a little more room to breathe and contribute without being in anyone's way. This made me realize, I actually do love escape rooms! And it's not to say I didn't have fun in the Depths, I just gotta know where I stand LOL. Something I will say is that since I had an 11 month old, I knew that it just wouldn't make sense for me to pay to play, but I would be too worried about my baby to contribute or even enjoy it - so definitely get a baby sitter, especially if you feel that the kids won't really enjoy it. Although, I would bring my baby to GBGS (with earmuffs) which was the original plan but that got booked before we could book it.

I love the whole experience of it and as someone who is confidently competitive, this more than happily scratches the itch and allows me (and my friends) to go crazy and get a little unhinged. My biggest advice is that your experience is what you make of it so whether you are a large group and you adopt a couple in or a couple who needs to get adopted in, this is a great opportunity to meet new people and just have fun. The host will do their best to run the show smoothly and fun, but at the end of the day you can really determine your fun, and let me tell you, it's also not that hard. This is one of my favorite activities to do ever since it came to Oahu because of the variety depending on who you bring or the games you play. I also love that it's fun for all ages and for anyone's level of common/uncommon knowledge. It's one of the most unique activities on Oahu (IMO) and it's so worth more than one visit.

Overall, great host and setup to make it actually feel like you're at an actual game show. There were a ton of different game challenges which allowed different people to engage. Definitely exceeded that 3 hint limit! The room we did was the Y2K one, which was certainly a fun blast from the past room. For those who were 90s kids or fondly remember the 90s, this will definitely be your jam. The room itself was wide ranging of difficulty, while I wouldn't recommend for beginners, it's certainly got a good balance between difficult puzzles and easier ones. The room is also good for kids. Nothing jumpy with it that happens with this one, though, they might miss a lot of the references. But hey, if you're bringing your kids here you can tell them all about the things in there, "Back in my day...", and remind yourself how old you are! The two kids that were working seemed almost bothered and uninterested in us and it was like everything was a chore -- from simply telling us about the waiver, to "welcoming" us, to introducing us to the room, to giving us clues, to "congratulating" us at the end. Everything seemed forced, like we made them wake up early or something, and they could barely crack a smile. At the end, we got a half hearted "come back soon." No thanks. "Not an Escape Room, Just a Frustrating Candy Hunt"…read more I've done a lot of escape rooms, and I can confidently say this was the worst one I've ever experienced. We booked "Sadie's Sweet Shop" at Room with a Clue expecting a fun, candy-themed escape challenge. Instead, we got a poorly designed scavenger hunt with no story, no urgency, and no objective beyond collecting candy. There is no escape element whatsoever--you're not solving puzzles to get out or to advance a storyline. You're just wandering the room trying to figure out what random combination of props might unlock another piece of candy. It felt like the creator designed puzzles purely for their own amusement, not for the enjoyment of players. Many of the puzzles were confusing not because they were hard, but because they were disconnected, self-indulgent, and illogical. To make things worse, the room was filled with red herrings--not clever misdirections, just pointless distractions that wasted time and made the experience frustrating instead of fun. The whole game lacked cohesion. There was no narrative thread tying things together, no build-up, no satisfying payoff. Just a cluttered space full of unrelated tasks. It felt like a rough draft of an escape room, not something worth charging admission for. Escape room fans: skip this one. Honolulu has much better options. Save your time and money

Plus, since they only offer one breakout room, they probably can't make it too difficult. I LOVED that our administrator was just as excited and happy to be there as we were.
