I've been excited for GBGS since I saw ads for it as it was still in the process of coming to Hawaii. I love the whole experience of it and as someone who is confidently competitive, this more than happily scratches the itch and allows me (and my friends) to go crazy and get a little unhinged. My biggest advice is that your experience is what you make of it so whether you are a large group and you adopt a couple in or a couple who needs to get adopted in, this is a great opportunity to meet new people and just have fun. The host will do their best to run the show smoothly and fun, but at the end of the day you can really determine your fun, and let me tell you, it's also not that hard. This is one of my favorite activities to do ever since it came to Oahu because of the variety depending on who you bring or the games you play. I also love that it's fun for all ages and for anyone's level of common/uncommon knowledge. It's one of the most unique activities on Oahu (IMO) and it's so worth more than one visit. read more

Came here for the first time with my friends. We came back home to visit from Texas and have never experienced anything like this before. I honestly thought this was going to be mediocre or somewhat boring and for only kids, but boooooy was I wrong. We did a family feud-like game show amongst my friends who wanted to split the teams up to mens vs women. I'm sure they regretted it because the men destroyed them lol. Overall, great host and setup to make it actually feel like you're at an actual game show. There were a ton of different game challenges which allowed different people to engage. I would've loved to try their escape room too, but we didn't have time for that. The staff were all friendly and welcoming. This place is located at Ala Moana by Target. There is plenty of free parking. From the moment you walk in, the vibe is electric. The hosts know exactly how to get everyone, and I mean EVERYONE laughing, cheering, and jumping right into the action. It's one of the few activities on Oʻahu that truly works for all ages. I've seen shy kids turn into bold competitors, and adults who swore they'd "just watch" end up yelling answers like they're on national TV. What makes it even better is that the games change every visit. No two shows feel the same. One night you're solving puzzles, the next you're racing against the clock, and then suddenly you're in a full‑on team showdown. It keeps the experience fresh, surprising, and ridiculously fun. We went with our family for a birthday game. We had 2 kids under the age of 8, a teenager, 2 college students, and adults. EVERYONE had a blast. Next time we will be bringing the grand parents. Very interesting concept and our host really made it fun for us. Shout out to Ethan for answering our questions and keeping our competitiveness at bay. From what we saw, there are 2 game show rooms that can host up to 14pax each (teams of 7 or less). We had an odd number of people which is OK, because the team with 1 less person had 2 chances for some of the mini games, to make it "fair." There were 10-15 minute mini games that went by very quickly. All of us were adults, though some where English is not their first language. We had requested for "easier" games that didn't require English spelling bee type of mini games. They couldn't eliminate all of them, but incorporated more hands-on activities which we all enjoyed. Great Big game show is located in Ala Moana close to Target. Why not 5 stars? It is because we had 17 in our party and they said they would accommodate all of us. When we got into the room, we were separated into 2 teams. There were 7 name tags on our side with 7 buzzers - so 14 contestants total. Some of us decided to take turns on the games. Overall - lots of fun! I believe our game host name was Cassie and she was fantastic in her role. If you love playing games, like smack talking with family/friends and are competitive - this is for you. There is no where to sit, so this isn't a place to go for people who can't stand for long periods. read more

We had an incredible experience at Great Big Game Show! Our group was about 10 30-somethings looking for something fun to do on a rainy day. The experience was SUCH a blast - our host really brought the hype energy and got our group into the spirit. Without spoiling anything, the activities vary a lot in the skills required (some will be familiar from real-life game shows). This means that no one skill guarantees victory (I am terrible at trivia, but I still did pretty well!). We were hooting and hollering throughout the experience - luckily the rooms are closed off enough that it's okay to be loud! The team at GBGS also went above and beyond for us - we were celebrating a wedding AND a surprise pregnancy announcement, and the team helped us incorporate the pregnancy reveal into one of the games. It was such a special moment for everyone involved. They even gave us a hand-written note at the end congratulating the married couple and the new parents! Overall, I was blown away by the experience and the stellar customer service. 10/10 would recommend!! read more
