    Making slime!
    Kim H.

Under normal circumstances, planning a kid's birthday party is about appealing to me as a swift poke in the eye. But now that my first born is getting older, I figured it was time to suck it up & let her have her first "real" birthday party with her school friends since she was turning 9. Enter Dana. She is your magical, artistic, creative, fun party planning fairy aka the owner of Oahu Bright Lab. I told her that my daughter is obsessed with unicorns & she immediately came up with a bunch of ideas to choose from (painting a unicorn cake, sewing a purse charm, painting a wall hanging). We decided to go with the last option. I also mentioned that my daughter loves slime & she said we could do a slime-making activity as well. The party was an absolute success! Upon arrival, the guests got to help color a hand drawn banner with my daughter's name, as well as paint a blank "cake". Dana then discussed abstract painting & gave the girls a chance to practice painting on paper before painting their wooden unicorns. Who needs paint brushes when you have q-tips, squares of bubble wrap, rollers & sponge-tipped tools? The girls were encouraged to be as messy & creative as they wanted to be (my four year old was living her best life because splattering paint is definitely not allowed at home). After that they washed up & had a snack; we brought spam musubis, chips & juice. Then the girls moved on the making slime, which seemed to be everyone's favorite part. Dana provided assorted glitter & little clay flower slices to add to the slime to make it extra special. We then sang happy birthday, ate cupcakes & it was time for everyone to go home. Whew! Dana & her assistant made everything so easy & the party ran like a well-oiled machine. We could not have asked for a better experience. Thank you, Oahu Bright Lab! Other info: -Oahu Bright Lab can accommodate 12 kiddos, birthday boy/girl included. -Dana will give you directions to their back parking lot, which can be accessed from Anuenue St which makes drop off/pick up easy for parents. Make sure to include the info on your invitations. -They do not have a fridge so bring food/snacks that doesn't need to be refrigerated.

The parking is good. It's fenced in which may seem suspicious but I'm sure it's an attempt to protect its customers and the business. This location had everything operating during our visit. The staff is very helpful and accommodating and the business is very clean. It's remarkably tidy in fact! Kudos to the staff. My kids enjoyed the slides the most. There is a lot for kids and toddlers to do here. There is one slide that I was concerned about where it's seemingly a straight drop but it's not but still my heart skips a beat when I think of a smaller child attempting to slide down it. So be warned. We visit during off hours where we nearly get the place to ourselves! And for anyone wondering, they do offer military discount! I would highly recommend this Keiki Kingdom Location above all.

We came here today and the sacks for the slide were missing so my daughter doesn't want to use the slide (her favorite) Next is the trampoline. We love to jump and throw the basketball and I asked the staff and they said they threw the balls away. I'm like okay then the ball machine that makes the balls float is broken too. When I talked to the staff about it they kinda just looked at me. They should let customers know on what's broken since we're paying full price thinking everything is available for use. I probably won't be taking my kids here until things get better. Super disappointed

Reschedule policy was the same price as our individual package. Cancellation policy was more than the price of one of us. It's a very expensive policy. And they definitely don't care if you come back or not. I would not recommend. Seems like a bad idea to have very frustrating policies in place for a Rage Room. ;)

Tried Out a Rage Room for the First Time - Totally Worth It!…read more I've been hearing about this rage room for a while and finally decided to check it out. I called ahead to ask about any discounts for locals or birthdays, and they told me they do offer a local discount with valid ID -- nice little bonus! They also said they had availability that day, so I figured, why not? The whole experience was super satisfying. Ever feel like breaking something at work but don't want to get fired? Break n Anger is the place to let that urge out safely and legally. Here's how it works: You get to choose 2 items from the top shelf and 5 items each from shelves 2, 3, and 4 -- so about 17 items total to smash. After signing the waivers, you suit up in a jumpsuit, gloves, and a helmet. They offer earplugs too, but I skipped those -- the sound of breaking stuff is half the fun. Honestly, the time flew by -- I went all in for 10 minutes and it felt like seconds. I probably should've paced myself, but I really wanted to let the rage out. No regrets though -- it was super fun, and I can totally see this being a great team-building activity. I'm definitely planning to go back and try the premium items next time!

There's a large fairy tale like reading room. Upstairs has a makeshift Hawaiian Airlines plane where kids can be pilots, passengers, or flight attendants. They validate parking which is a huge plus since parking in Waikiki can be expensive/difficult to find. It's a super cute DIY nail shop with tons of Sanrio themed items. As soon as you walk in, there's super cute Sanrio backdrops to take photos in front of, Sanrio bags/merch for purchase, and you start your experience wearing hello kitty socks and slippers (optional but highly recommend). After you enter the shop, you can decide whether you want to do their basic package of gel nails + unlimited nail stickers or you can do their upgraded package to have unlimited charms and gems and sparkles. I recommend choosing their unlimited charm bar because they have so many cute items to decorate your nails with! The nail shop is a little different than your typical nail salon. Here, you'll choose your polish (they now have Japanese gel!) and then Kelly (the owner) will teach you how to apply the gel polish on yourself. That's right, it's all DIY but Kelly is a very good teacher. I don't like applying my own nail polish but I found the experience super easy with her guidance. Once you've decided on your nail colors, you can choose from a huge array of stickers or charms to decorate with. Depending on whether you're using the nail stickers or the charms will be a different process but both super simple. And since it's all gel polish, there's little wait time so you can enjoy your nails as soon as you're done! What a perfect way to start your vacation in Oahu! Oh, and the best part? It's BYOB so bring some bottles and your girlfriends and have an amazing time doing your nails together! Kelly plays music for you in the shop but you can request to connect your phone to the Bluetooth speaker and play your own jams! Overall, it's a super cute and fun experience so I would recommend to check it out!

The Waikiki Aquarium - is affordable, and focuses on local sea life. I have been to many aquariums with all the same fish. I was 13 the first time I went to this aquarium with my grandparents and I was so captivated by the sea dragons - this was the first place I ever saw them. I still have the stuffed one they bought me on that visit. My boyfriend also commented that he enjoyed this aquarium because it is focused on the local sea life. They are currently having some construction to expand and add some additional exhibits but overall it was one of the highlights of our trip. Highly recommend especially if you have younger children as it isn't a huge aquarium but alot of local sea life.

If you're visiting with kids, it's a solid, manageable stop. Short, educational, easy to get through without meltdowns. For adults only, though, it's probably not something you need to go out of your way for. That said, it does a good job showcasing local Hawaiian marine life. Lots of native fish and sea urchins, which is cool if you're interested in what actually lives in the surrounding waters rather than big flashy exhibits. The space itself feels a bit dated, and with the renovations happening, some areas felt even more limited. You can tell it's more of a local, educational aquarium than a major attraction. Bottom line: fine for families, quick visit, mildly interesting if you like local marine life. Not a must-do for adults, but not a regret either. Solid.

At first we didn't know what to expect with art class. We didn't know anyone who attended art class here but we just wanted to try because my daughter loves art. It was such a good experience. Her teacher, Mrs Okano, is so creative with all their projects. Each week they were working on something new and interesting. My daughter was always excited to be going to art class. It's really nice that the class size is small and Mrs Okano is a great teacher. We got to see all of the art work from all of the classes they offered. My daughter had about 6-7 projects that she completed. You could really see her growth from the first project to the last.
