Tried Out a Rage Room for the First Time - Totally Worth It! I've been hearing about this rage room for a while and finally decided to check it out. I called ahead to ask about any discounts for locals or birthdays, and they told me they do offer a local discount with valid ID -- nice little bonus! They also said they had availability that day, so I figured, why not? The whole experience was super satisfying. Ever feel like breaking something at work but don't want to get fired? Break n Anger is the place to let that urge out safely and legally. Here's how it works: You get to choose 2 items from the top shelf and 5 items each from shelves 2, 3, and 4 -- so about 17 items total to smash. After signing the waivers, you suit up in a jumpsuit, gloves, and a helmet. They offer earplugs too, but I skipped those -- the sound of breaking stuff is half the fun. Honestly, the time flew by -- I went all in for 10 minutes and it felt like seconds. I probably should've paced myself, but I really wanted to let the rage out. No regrets though -- it was super fun, and I can totally see this being a great team-building activity. I'm definitely planning to go back and try the premium items next time! read more

Or maybe just want to break something to relieve those extra pressure on you or release those stress? We celebrated my brother-in-law's 40th birthday, also known as Yakudoshi in Japanese culture at Break'N Anger. This was our first event for the day. There's really no parking around but you can park on the street. I think Sunday is best since it's not busy so we had better chance with finding a closer parking. They had signage and you would need to ring the door bell and a staff will let you in. As soon as you walk in through the door, you'd find so much colors, graffitis, spray paints and all items that you can choose from to break and special or larger items for purchase to break. The staff had us select 17 items that we wanted to break from the 4-tier shelves. What's really neat is that if you have an item that you end up not breaking, you get to keep as souvenir. For safety, we were provided jumpsuits, gloves, and helmets with face shield. Ooh and you must wear shoes! We reserved the Jungle Room. The room was equipped with sledgehammer, golf club, metal pipe, and crow bars. You MUST listen for their instruction to ensure that not only you enjoy your time smashing and breaking items but you are safe doing it! Wanted to try them out so scheduled one of their 15min sessions. Admittedly, arrived 10 min late. (no parking so we were driving around for over 15min). Reschedule policy was the same price as our individual package. Cancellation policy was more than the price of one of us. It's a very expensive policy. We visited Break'N Anger as a family activity with our kids' boy/girlfriends and we had a great time. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the safety instructions and gear seemed sufficient to the task. The room was a little small for six of us, but we quickly got down to the business of destroying all the items we had chosen. The selection of tools was adequate, and it seemed like no time at all had passed before the room was littered with glass, ceramic, and plastic remains which hardly gave any hint of what items we entered the room with. I was looking for a fun place to have gals night and I thought what a fun place to go to release steam get your blood flowing. I booked a rage room for 2. The exterior blended in with the old school Kakaako and was a little sketchy. Once we figured out that we had arrived at our destination they welcomed us and let us take our time taking in their establishment. It was a cool vibe with splatter artwork, neon lights, fun signs and COLORS COLORS COLORS. The staff was friendly and cool. They were informative as well as eager for us to get started. They really helped us set the vibe. After choosing our 10 items to break we changed into safety gear. That consisted of 1) full jumpsuit 2) helmet with face covering. I was sure to wear something so that I can pull the jumpsuit over my clothes and hard closes toe shoes. They let us use our own music but we decided to try their rage playlist and it did not disappoint. Overall me and my friend had a great time. It was too loud even though you get to pick the music and all. Don't recommend this place if loud banging on metal objects aren't your thing. We held a private birthday party here recently for my daughter's 13th birthday. There were 10 of us total. I think that was a good number because the place isn't that big. My daughter and her friends had a great time. There was a small area for the food and a lounge area where they could hang out. There were two people working that day. They were very friendly and helpful. The only reason I took off a star is because I wished it were a bit cleaner, especially because we were serving food. It felt a bit dusty all around and there was not very good ventilation. I offered masks for that reason, but of course no one wanted to wear them. I had a choice of archery or breaking things for my birthday from my teammates. I chose breaking things. This was my first time. The location is within walking distance from WholeFoods on Ward. It reminds me of a speakeasy because the location is not obvious. And as soon as you enter, it brought back nostalgic feels of the 90's grunge club scenes. As soon as we checked in, they brought us to an area where we could choose glassware and other household items to break. When we finished, they brought us upstairs to change into a jumpsuit (NOTE: wear covered shoes). Afterwards, they went over the rules with us. We were brought back downstairs, where we chose our helmets that also has face shields. We then entered our room and took turns breaking things with whatever items they had in a bucket (i.e., bat, golf club, heavy steel bar, broken hockey stick). I can't say enough positive things about this place! All the reviews nailed it when saying the staff was amazing. My boyfriend and I had so much fun and it was definitely worth the 45 minutes. I really needed a different kind of activity for us to do together that he's never done before so I booked 2 separate sessions: a Splatter Box and a Smash Lab You should go with a group or for a date & read their FAQs on their website I made sure to book online about 2-3 weeks in advance and the day before I made sure to remind everyone in our party to: -Make sure they wore closed-toe shoes -Bring proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a negative test within 48 hours -Show up a little early to ensure you enjoy the full experience (because you choose all the items you will break for the smash lab) -you can just call them when you have questions like I had to call to get clarity on parking, it's street parking, "no parking" signs are not enforced in front of their building only so I parked in the front Splatter Box - 45mins in a room where you can splatter paint everywhere and on a canvas that you take home And you can get a paint gun to shoot paint everywhere too! You wear a tyvek suit with safety glasses or a disposable raincoat poncho thing that they provide also complete with plastic booties for your shoes. There's a place you can out your purse that won't get paint on it -we left our paintings there because they were still soaking but you can pick it up later they hold it up to 2 weeks after Smash Lab - this is the star activity, you choose all the items you can break & you can even break larger appliances for a small extra fee Yeah! Break'N Anger (BNA) is the best place for: - Someone to express their artistic side OR their "Anger" - A different bachelor/bachlorette party activity (which the reason I went) - For a overall different experience - If you want to smash stuff! My friends were getting married and they wanted to have a different kind of bachelor/bachelorette party, so part of the night was spent at BNA. Forget throwing dollar bills at a club, we were throwing glasses with these soon-to-be-newlyweds! Located on a side street near Ala Moana is where you'll find BNA. There is a couple of stalls in front of the place but other than that, it's hard to find. Do not park in the parking lot next door. It was my understanding that they tow, but perhaps things may have changed. It would be best to check for updated with BNA. Upon our arrival we were greeted by our host. He invited us in and got us squared away with liability forms. He was super chill and also super nice. Inside it was pretty trippy looking! We ultimately came to an area where we went "shopping". We were instructed to grab a certain number of items from each level of the shelves. There were glass cups, toys, glass serving trays, plates..you name it! If you were willing to shell out a few more bucks, you could even smash some big things like tvs! After going shopping we got dressed upstairs. We were provided a jump suit and gloves. We then got our helmets/facial gear. It does get a little hot after awhile if you're breaking a bunch of stuff. After were suited up we were escorted into our anger room. They provided us with a bin to put our belongings and the bin was also in the room with us. That was when the fun began. We threw things, smashed things...you name it. Not gonna lie, I had fun unraveling a cassette player LOL it was a no brainer and amusing at the same time. They gave us a vault to smash and it did take a while to smash which was good or else I think we would've been done in 10 mins. A classic burger done right. Crisp bun, juicy patty, stuffed with all the essentials (ketchup, shredded lettuce, tomato, and pickles). There's about a million options available between the menu board and wall full of specials, so it can get a little overwhelming, but you really can't go wrong. A friend wanted to come here for her birthday celebration in February, and another friend who went to this experience late last year noted how fun it was. My friend group and I decided to plan a day to get together for the birthday celebration! It's located in the 'industrial' area of Ward/Kaka'ako. The experience is in a warehouse that could be missed if you don't look for it closely. Parking is also kind of difficult to find as it's all street parking. Another option is to park at the Whole Foods/Ward Village parking structure and walk over. We planned for late February, then things came up. We planned for early March, but people got sick. We finally planned for late March AND OUR EXPERIENCE FINALLY HAPPENED. WHOO. There were 9 of us, and we wanted everyone to be able to make it. A reservation date and time must be made online or via phone (I think). The website was super easy to navigate, and our reservation was made easily without a problem. The prices were relatively high (~$57 per person which including 10% off). Upon entering the premises, we were all told to sign a safety waiver form. Then we were all able to choose 5 small items, 5 medium items, and 1 large item per person! 9 of us = 99 items. WOW. After choosing our items, we went upstairs to put on a protective jumpsuit. Because we were at a later time, it was hard to find small and medium sized jumpsuits as they were all already used. Luckily we were able to find a suit that all fit us. We were then given the option to either be together or separated into two rooms. We decided one room as we all wanted to all experience it together. Mistake 1. The worker advised us to go one at a time as we might hurt ourselves if more than one person went up. Seeing that we didn't wanna get hurt, we went one by one as a group of 9. LOL. Slow but safe. We were given a lot of different tools we could choose such as a sledgehammer, bat, and golf clubs. There was also a target to throw things at! The room also came with a music system where we got to choose our songs to get pumped up. What a great experience! Everyone enjoyed themselves, unleashing any pent up anger we had LOL. This experience made me also realized that breaking things ain't an activity I enjoyed LMAO. Too much chaos for me. But I'm super glad I had this opportunity! First of all, my little ohana and I enjoyed their Splatter Art Studio for my birthday. Talk about a good time especially for my 7 year old. We had reservations for 7:15 PM, but we got there by 6:45. Luckily, the workers just let us in early since there wasn't anybody else besides us. So the worker(s) took us upstairs and got us suited up (shower caps, ponchos, glasses and rain boots). Afterwards, we went in the art studio and saw three blank canvases for us hanging against the wall. The worker pretty much explained to us how to use the splatter gun(s), where to shoot our paint, and that we could use the other paintbrushes/tools/paint bottles that was in the room. Also, the paint used in the splatter gun is non toxic. To add too that, once you use all of your paint for the splatter gun, you can purchase more paint for an additional $10. Last, the worker left us and let us get to it since we had 45 minutes in the studio. We had a blast shooting painting at each other (took us about 10 minutes to finish it). After, we used the paint bottles, paint brushes and our fingers to paint. We had even more fun since there was music in the room. Before we knew it, our time was up. We washed up our hands at the sink that is outside of the studio. The worker(s) was super cool. They helped us take pictures of us and put our canvases in a box. I tipped each of the 2 workers because they were SO sweet. Overall, the price for each of us to do this activity was $69 and well it was well worth my money! read more

Hmm what can I say? Time flies when you're having fun breaking things lol. From start to finish, the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. There are some rules to follow so make sure you listen to them carefully. Also, fill out your waiver forms online before you get there it helps speed up the whole process for your party and gets you to breaking things sooner. There's a wide variety of things from alcohol glass bottles, picture frames, ceramic ware , glass ware , and other random things to break and smash to your heart's desire lol. And I highly recommend purchasing premium items like computers, laptops, old registers and point of sale systems, flat screen tvs, and more to break lol it's worth it. There's an iPod in the room and you can switch up the music but the soundtrack selection they have is awesomely appropriate for smashing things. There's also a phone holder so you can record yourselves just don't bump into it (and beware of flying debris that can hit it) - your phone will fall to the ground with all the smashed debris. There's also a splatter room for those who want to play with some paint hahaha that's next on the to do list. They provide cold water after your breaking session and there's a zen room upstairs to chill out and cool off in after too. Don't forget to write on the walls to commemorate your visit! My friends and I were having a bad work week and it got to the point of being overwhelmed and exhausting. While scrolling through Instagram, I saw this new business pop up - and I thought, WOW! That looks like a great way to relieve stress! So I shared what I saw with my friends and we decided to all go one night. My friend was so excited, she reserved a time spot for us online ASAP. I highly recommend reserving online so you are guaranteed a spot especially since they're new and plenty people have been reserving. Not gonna lie, the prices are a little high and to some may not be even worth the price. BUT I think the experience and stress relief is well worth it. The location is in an urban/industrial area and can be a hit or miss while driving through the streets. This also means the parking is bad. We had to drive around maybe two times until we were able to find parking. We actually asked the guy in the front of the place to ask where we should park and thankfully he said right infant of the entrance. As soon as you enter, you're greeted right away by an attendant who takes you to a place where you sign a waiver. From there you choose the items you want to break (5 small, 4 medium, and 2 large) - I recommend getting a plastic toy - as it takes longer to break. After this, we were taken upstairs to the "zen" area and the area where we can watch other parties break stuff. As we enter our room, we got so excited. There are many options of tools to use to break the items such as a baseball bat, hammer, rolling pin, and other stuff. This was really a great way to release some anger, tension, and stress. We spent a good hour enjoying ourselves and our company. We were able to laugh it out afterwards also. read more

I love the concept and creativeness of Break'N Anger. They are advocates for mindfulness and managing your emotions. Conveniently located near T&T Tinting and right around the corner from Aloha Dog. Once you step in, you're shrouded in a dimly lit walkway, walls decked out with artwork and oddities, dried drippings of neon paint, and background music. Upon entering, you'll see a host stand with a sign-in sheet. No one was present immediately when we walked in, though it only took a few minutes for someone to greet our group. The woman who assisted us was extremely welcoming and warmhearted. She asked to see proof of vaccination and ID. Once cleared, she walked us further into the facility where she informed us to digitally sign a waiver, one for each guest in the party. Afterwards, we were escorted upstairs to our room... our splatter space! She explained the process, showed us the supplies, and allowed us to pick out our neon paint guns. We then donned on ponchos, shoe covers, goggles - and we were good to go! An hour to create aesthetic art and of course, making messes!! We really wanted to do the rage room (smash room) but the age limit is 10 years old. Hopefully next time for sure! However, I highly recommend Break'N Anger. I think this is a good place to go if you're really angry or have anxiety. I booked this for a birthday present but when we went, we actually felt for the items. That's just us. We are a little bit different. I wasn't feeling the glassware which is mostly what they had so I asked for some thing plastic they gave me a brita water container. Quickly picked our 17 pieces when we're in the room we felt uncomfortable because we didn't want to break anything totally not the right time to go for us. We weren't angry or no anxiety but the place was clean. The helmets were clean gloves didn't smell, jumpsuits they gave us were clean so that was awesome. We left our time early because we didn't want to break anything. Waste of money for me. but will def consider going back if I have a friend that is angry or anxiety. Oh also parking is horrible. My family and I did the Splatter Room and we LOVED it! We had an age range of 14-56 and we all had a blast. It was so much fun I can't even begin to explain! From the second you walk in, the employees and owners are all so approachable and pleasant. This environment IS IT! Plus the blacklight all throughout make it so modern and artsy- total photo op. Speaking of photo ops, the employees offer to take pictures for you on your phone AND there's a spot set up in the splatter room to put your phone to record. The music is bumping, things are being thrown in one room and paint is being flung in another. Absolute awesomeness. Tip for the splatter room: You will very likely get paint on your face, body, maybe even clothes (if your provided poncho doesn't cover it). Suck it up, live life, get your artist out and deal with the mess later! Totally cleanable. They even give you space and time to clean up after you get out of the room. Our family did the Splatter Art Studio at Break n Anger for our daughter's 5th birthday and let me tell you it was worth every penny! The staff was so unbelievably kind and made our daughter feel like this was the craziest thing in the world. They loaded us up with water guns (pump action) full of neon paint, as well as a caddy full of paint bottles for us to play with. Each person gets a canvas and they provide you with ample painting tools as well. They play kid friendly music the whole time and let you go to town. They have optional protective coverings (shower caps, ponchos, boots, etc) but we were excited about the mess. I highly highly recommend this for you, your children, and your inner child!! It was worth the price and the staff working were amazing. They were so nice and friendly. Really made the trip memorable. We plan to stop back in there again soon should we need to release any more pent up anger. Although I don't know how you can come to this beautiful island and get angry.
