I went to Keiki Republic in Kahala with my daughter, SIL, and granddaughter to check things out…read more It's a large open space with tons of activities, toys, mazes, and things to keep the little one occupied and expending energy. You can pay by the hour for each session, or get a monthly pass that allows unlimited time each month. They do ask everyone to sign an electronic waiver, so bring your smartphone to make things easier. You also need to wear socks in the play area, to prevent damage to the padded surfaces. I would recommend getting some grippy socks, because some of the play surfaces are fairly slick when wearing regular socks, and it's like walking on ice. Everything is pretty safe for all ages of children, as parents and caregivers are all watching over their own flock. They do have a staff person that also monitors the area and cleans and wipes down surfaces periodically. The main thing to watch out for (as with most toddler play areas) is when older kids are playing in the same area as smaller ones. It's a pretty big space overall, so it really wasn't an issue while we were there, but it's still something to keep in mind. There is a lot to do and my granddaughter definitely had her favorites, such as the merry-go-round, the climbing area, and (for some reason) the zip line ride. She avoided the ball pit for some reason, but maybe she'll grow into it as she gets older. We spent a couple of hours there and it definitely wore her out, and all of us as well. It's a great place to spend for any family with little ones, and I know we'll be back.

I asked my sister if she would be interested in this, and she said, "Yes, it sounds fun." So I immediately booked a reservation for us towards the early evening (the last time slot) of the day. I'm so glad that I chose that time as it wasn't too hot/bright so it's cooler. We got there a little bit earlier than our appointed time, but Denise told us that we can start. She was very friendly, informative, and just a lovely person. I absolutely love love love the experience! We started with the bunnies first because they're so freakin' cute! We got to feed them as we brought some fruits and veggies from Safeway before we came. I picked one up and we got take some pics/videos with them. There were birds next to the bunnies and they were pretty. It was very sad hearing the story about one of the birds (I forgot the name of the bird.. sorry!) as he lived off his on poop for a couple years as his person passed away. It's the one that's always screeching/screaming. Then we visited the little bb cows (calves? Is that what they're called?), and I got to feed them the feed. Then we checked out the goats and sheeps. The goats were really aggressive with wanting to get the food, and they will bump into each other. Then we visited the ducks and piggies. There were also turkeys there as well. The fruits and veggies that we got from Safeway were strawberries, lettuce, and carrots. My ultimate favorite part was that they let us bottle feed the bb cows. There were like 4-6 big bottles of milk to feed the bb cows. I tried it first, and then I let my sis try, but she only lasted holding it for like 2 minutes until she said that it was too heavy. So I ended up doing that mostly which was really awesome! I absolutely loved it as it was such an amazing experience. Hehe.. Dear Denise, thank you so much for having this wonderful place that gives people opportunities to interact with these lovely animals! What TOTALLY IMPRESSED me was the "school time" when they had singalongs, story time, shape, alphabet, number, color recognition, and a hands on art activity in the letter of the day. As a retired elementary school teacher, it was clear that "Aunty Kim" has educational training. She does everything so positively and has so many "tricks" in helping the children use liquid glue, hold a crayon, and even coughing ("Ninja cough" to cover their mouth and not spread germs). All of these are ideas I'll use with my little ones at home! My only critique is why is it spelled FUNN? Wouldn't it be better to teach and show the children the correct spelling?

I wanted to take more pictures but it was filled with children "of course lol!" and didn't want to take their faces but the rock wall, Turtle hideaway, even a tree house looking play area I was just so impressed. There was one time where 3 big kids came in, totally overrunning the place and knocking all the babies down. Then they ran back into Ruby Tuesdays, so clearly no parents in sight.
