There is ample free parking in front or on the side of the building. The learning center is located past the food courts. The center is clean and welcoming. Covid precautions are in place with sanitizers and desk/stations separated by clear partitions. Staff wear face coverings. They currently offer both online and in person sessions. Mr. Chung is professional, laidback, and is a calm presence around students. He assessed my kids individually and came up with a plan to start at their level and take them to higher learning. He plans to work with them for PSAT, SAT, and ACT testing. He encourages them while expecting their very best. He and Mr. Koa have worked with both of my keiki and after only one session, they were ready to return the next day. We have had several sessions since and both have improved with not only their knowledge, but their confidence in their mathematical abilities. Pricing is great and they offer hours during the week as well and the weekends. But what sealed the deal was his display collection of Ultraman mini-figures! Shuwatch! Highly recommended.

My daughter wrote her own review to add: UAchieve is one of the best learning places you can find in Oahu... Mr and Mrs.Chung are amazing teachers and help you with your math skills and you develop a amazing advantage in math. I love them both and their beloved summer session. There is also a writing class .. the morning class is taught by Andrew although I'm not in the math class I heard he's a amazing writer and teacher in math too. I'm in Ms.Sumida's class and I enjoy her and the writing environment she puts in our mind. I absolutely love to read and write so I felt at home right away. It is a safe environment inside and outside in the marketplace ... plenty of food and other areas you will want to check out too. I absolutely love the staff and the friends I made . Mahalo

HSTA Many don't know how much they organize…read more Yes- they help negotiate the contract for teachers. And yes- teachers always get screwed by whatever governor is in power regardless. The one thing that HSTA knows is that the HI constitution is what prevents the State from having a fund (rainy day is too cliche) for investment in public good. There is spending, investment and a mix of both. Our state budget basically spends all the money that comes in- and if there is a surplus it does not go to investment but goes to a refund for families that paid taxes; Instead of holding on to this money to invest in education or transportation for example. So- if we changed the process of collecting taxes in our constitution- then we could improve investment in education. Back to HSTA and what everyday people can see... HSTA does back and lobby against different bills that are seen in the public. For example, HSTA was only one of a few organizations that was against letting children vote on State Elections. Why? Because 5 year olds voting is a stupid idea, but they didn't present it that way. They brought the facts that voting age was changed to 18 previously because of the draft from Vietnam saying that people were old enough to die for their country but not old enough to vote (popular culture also wrote songs about this and there was a popular movement to change things). Legally, 18 is old enough to smoke, leave home, quit school, go to work full time, join the army and then vote. So why should 5 year olds vote? HSTA said there are so many more important pressing issues than that- which there really are. More recently in the 2014 HI elections, there was another initiative to have public money go to private preschools. HSTA only spent about $250,000 total against the measure. But Kamehameha Schools had at least $500,000 as the largest funder for the measure to privatize public preschool, along with another reported $500,000 from other donors. Really- couldn't they have spent that million on actual education for keiki instead of going against the state constitution? Again- all of this is public information. I am in favor of public education. Education is an investment in our keiki's future. Preschool should be free for all keiki. Paying for it at the public school level though is my first priority. It sounds like better public education is HSTA's priority too. HSTA is a wonderful example of how those that know what is going on behind the curtain know what is best because they are the most informed. They take the time to get feedback from 13,000 teachers and that is a pretty good example of those stake holders that know the community as a whole in HI. HSTA would love to have music, art, sports, PE and all well rounded education. Don't just say you support education, listen to the call of HSTA in general when issues that affect our keiki come up and listen how support is needed.

Then didn't want to provide us with help for our children. When we first started at this school we told them the issues our child has and what medication he is on, they simply denied it and said they weren't aware when I have documentation. Then all the sudden the vice principal leaves after we threatened to sue. Our kids have been to Nanakuli, Kapilina, Royal, and Jefferson.. this school was by far the WORST!!!! Not to mention they only cater to military.. they have "military student of the month" but don't give a f*** about locals.

It was hard to find...someone had to explain to me that I had to enter the apartment complex in order to reach it, which is what ultimately helped me find it. The biggest downside to this school is the location. It's on top of a hill, and the road that takes you to the front of the school is very steep and very narrow. At dismissal time, it's a nightmare because the road is so narrow, and to get to the parking area, you travel a road that is so narrow you can only have cars traveling in one direction at a time. So if there is one parent who is late getting there to pick up their child (and there is always at least one!), everyone trying to leave the parking lot is held at a standstill until that car arrives in the parking lot. Despite the horrible parking situation and the narrow roads around the school, the school itself is great! The staff is so incredibly friendly. I was anxious having my son switch schools in the middle of the school year, but they were so open and warm, it put both me and my son at ease. He had a counselor checking in on him throughout his first week, which also helped. His teacher stays on top of informing me about his progress, so I'm never left wondering how he's doing. If I have any questions or concerns, she very easy to get a hold of, and has never left me hanging. The layout of the school is pretty simple. It's also one of the smaller schools in the area that I've seen. They also have a very laid back uniform compared to some of the other schools. Uniform shirts are either blue or red, and can be purchased from the school for $8.40 a piece. They don't require specific type or color pants/shorts/skirts to be worn either. They communicate well with parents, sending home news letters once a month. Their school website also has a lot of useful information as well. Overall, we are very happy with the school.

They were very punctual with appointments, actually arriving early for each visits. They give you a heads up when they are on their way. They worked with me on a holiday (new year's day) and weekends. My dryer was stopping mid-cycle. During the first visit, Sergey diagnosed the issue as the timer and replaced it. Unfortunately, that did not resolve the problem. After I contacted them again, he returned to recheck the dryer and was able to identify the actual issue, which required ordering an additional part. The part took about a week to arrive, and although I did have to follow up, he returned at a time that was convenient for me and completed the repair. My dryer is now working properly. Overall, YZ Pro was professional, friendly, and made a genuine effort to accommodate me and see the job through. Their pricing is on the higher side, but they ultimately resolved the issue and completed the service.
