Our 3 year old daughter loves this class. I like the summary of the lesson that comes home with her.

Though we liked coming here at first, things deteriorated quickly…read more From instructors being stoned while teaching/coaching to an inability to communicate with parents except via email and not in person or on the phone to ridiculous make up and refund policies that encourage parents to bring sick keiki to camp and weekly classes. Likewise, I tried cancelling multiple times as they had a 30-day cancel policy only to be told I hadn't cancelled. Now I realize that its because so many parents before me have been unhappy hence their need to make so many one-sided policies. If they provided a good service they wouldn't need to entrap you or your kids, because they would have enough new students looking to enroll. As they said themselves "If you're unhappy with our policies, there's several other gyms on island you could check out to see if their policies better align with your needs." Better to go elsewhere. Parents beware. -- Response to their response: 5 missed classes and trying to placate me by offering me classes I don't want because of said coach, when I all I asked for was one parents night out in exchange. Your staff all clearly know who is stoned; all the keiki even know. Finally, holding a space for 3-5 months try more like 3-5 weeks. Again, this could have been a better dialogue in person or over the phone, but instead it was via email and now they are dishing over yelp. Like I said before better go elsewhere, parents beware.

They have easy online booking options and they sent you an email right away to sign a waiver. It's a little hard to find as it's between the Denny's and a parking lot, so just be vigilant while walking. They have a little shop with a receptionist and the instructors. There's a QR code for tipping your instructors which was convenient considering you're so tired after the lesson. I felt comfortable leaving all my stuff in the office (even shoes) as we walked across the street to the beach. My instructor, James, first practiced my footing, head placement, and movement. Then we paddled out, and he held my board the entire time. I got to enjoy the view prop my head on my board and give Ms. America waves even though no one was looking. That alone is worth all the money. James gave me tips and tricks each wave he pushed me in. Telling me to balance more on the right foot, etc. I felt like I had also paid to hang out with someone really cool. The vibes on the break were so chill. Everyone knew each other and were respectful with waves of hello and aloha. This is a must do in Waikiki. The waves were so soft on my beginner board and they have a 99.9% rate of success. James said he was able to help a 84 year old catch and stand up in a wave. Remarkable!!! I caught six waves and it felt incredible. I'm wiped out and exhausted, but so satisfied and excited for my next lesson. What a treat! I highly recommend Ty Gurney- ask for James!!

The kids learned hose safety, horsemanship, hose anatomy, how to clean and take care of the hoses. The cleaned the hose stalls and took the hoses out for walks. The kids were put in group and each kid had there responsibilities for the day. They also did some crafts, They each made a safety bracelet and play with water on the last day. The kids got on the hoses each day but they only walk with the hoses. If you are looking for something else you need to take a private lessons. They had a drop off and leave policy. Witch I get. I ran dance schools. But I wish that they let the parents come and see or join in on one day, to see what they were learning. My niece looked like she enjoyed her camp when I picked her up. But you don't get much out of pre-teens. This camp is great if you need your kids to be busy for 6 hours, learn some of the basics about riding and taking care of horses.

We chose this place for summer camp because it promotes itself as specializing in riding…read moreinstruction for special needs individuals, and providing therapeutic riding to individuals of any ability. The website even states that they want "to make sure our participants have a safe and positive riding experience ..." What my child experienced was the exact opposite. There was inadequate supervision by the owner/trainer (who was on her phone often and not paying attention), relying on teenaged volunteers. The owner/trainer did not have a kind tone of voice when addressing children, even yelling at times. One example was when the owner/trainer wanted to take a picture of kids with a horse - my child went to stand next to the horse and the owner snapped at my child saying, "Don't be rude!" and never explained why she said that, leaving my child sad and not knowing what they did wrong (and crying all the way home in the car afterwards). Either the owner needs to hire a kid-friendly trainer, or they need to change their ways.
