My biggest advice is that your experience is what you make of it so whether you are a large group and you adopt a couple in or a couple who needs to get adopted in, this is a great opportunity to meet new people and just have fun. The host will do their best to run the show smoothly and fun, but at the end of the day you can really determine your fun, and let me tell you, it's also not that hard. This is one of my favorite activities to do ever since it came to Oahu because of the variety depending on who you bring or the games you play. I also love that it's fun for all ages and for anyone's level of common/uncommon knowledge. It's one of the most unique activities on Oahu (IMO) and it's so worth more than one visit.

Once you get upstairs, there's two sets of doors and they are the set of black doors to the right which has a little doorbell button that will have VR on it. Ring the bell and the adventure will begin! Currently, they have just the one VR escape game called "Space, Magic, & Time" which was all developed in-house. Their goal is to make many VR escape games for physical escape room locations to add on as a supplement to their escape room choices. Since this is our second VR experience, we felt kind of hooked! They currently have 8 spaces but the max the design of the game currently is for 4 people to play together although they can run two games simultaneously. Each player gets their own VR box so there won't be any bumping into each other situation. Currently their VR headsets are connected to a wire but they will be wireless soon as the wire does tangle as you move around in the game but we didn't find untangling it much of a bother in our game. "Space, Magic, & Time" starts out in a mission control center where you'll be given your first assignment. Each assignment gets harder as it progresses. There's a good mixture of puzzle solving and physical aspects to the game. At one point, we felt like we were actually shooting a real bow and arrow as there was tension felt every time we pulled back. We didn't feel any motion sickness although if you have a fear of height, I think you can definitely practice conquering that in the VR world first. As we get introduced to the VR more now, we can definitely see a trend of where escape rooms might head to next, not replacing but definitely an add on, to the physical escape rooms. *For more info, check out my Yelp profile.

Sometimes there is a group already in the room, and while there is a comfortable waiting area, you do not want to hear what is going on or it will spoil your own game. So if the previous players are going over-time or you are extra early, it is best to wait downstairs in the Logos bookstore until it is your booking time. There were about 7 empty stalls in the parking lot when I arrived at 5:45pm for my 6pm event. Up the stairs is a little landing. You press the button that says "AVR" and it rings a bell to let you in. Gerard welcomed us, gave us safety tips, and made sure we had tons of fun! We all had a great time. Scary Good Fun, Questionable Survival Skills…read more Being the Halloween enthusiast that I am, I had to go to Trial of Fear on opening night! The Fast Pass costs a little more, but it was SO worth it. When I checked in through their system to confirm we were on-site, there were 45 parties ahead of us. With the Fast Pass, we were whisked right to the front of the line. This year's theme is Island Quarantine, and the attraction is located across from Whole Foods in Kaka'ako. It took us about 18 minutes to get through. Along the way, there are puzzles to solve and activities to complete to prevent contagion and hopefully make it out uninfected. They let you in groups of eight, so our group of four was paired with another group of four. Now, here's where things got entertaining. One girl from the other group literally fell to the ground THREE separate times! We're talking phone, credit cards, wallet, and lipstick flying out of her purse. We had to stop and help her gather her belongings while trying not to become the next victims. I mean, it was definitely scary with plenty of jump scares, but girl, HOLD IT TOGETHER! Those survival skills were not looking promising. Highly recommend! It was scary, interactive, and so much fun. We may have survived Island Quarantine, but I'm not entirely convinced everyone in our group would make it through an actual apocalypse.

The sets and the experience itself are top-notch, which is why I'm giving it four stars instead of five. The problem was the check-in. We bought tickets online but got no instructions on where to park or what to do when we arrived. We showed up to a crowd in front of the building, stood in line, got inside, and were told we needed to join a digital line by scanning a QR code -- which nobody could find. We were pointed to a staff member who had it, but by the time we tracked her down we were already about forty people behind in that line. If the process had been explained in an email beforehand, most of us would have scanned right away instead of standing around frustrated. Fix the arrival flow and this place earns a five.

Pauline was there to help with taking kids on a hike, craft making activities and a trip to the river for fishing. The small hike was manageable. Craft making was a way for kids to be creative. Fishing for krill and toads was a way for the kids to burn excess energy. Bring sunscreen and lotsa bug repellent! Such a fun event outdoors and a learning experience even for the adults!

Anyone with children knows that kids forget and it may happen again without intention. It was an innocent mistake, and there was absolutely no reason for the manager to speak to a child in such an aggressive manner. When I calmly explained that concerns about a child's behavior should be addressed to the parents rather than directed aggressively at the child, the manager became combative and dismissive instead of apologizing or handling the situation professionally. A family attraction should know how to treat families with basic respect. The issue was the manager's attitude and lack of professionalism. What should have been a fun family outing was overshadowed by an unpleasant interaction with someone who clearly lacks the temperament for customer-facing management with young children and families. I won't be returning, and I would encourage other families to boycott this establishment. This is absolutely not the type of environment they want for their children.

They validate parking which is a huge plus since parking in Waikiki can be expensive/difficult to find. It's a super cute DIY nail shop with tons of Sanrio themed items. As soon as you walk in, there's super cute Sanrio backdrops to take photos in front of, Sanrio bags/merch for purchase, and you start your experience wearing hello kitty socks and slippers (optional but highly recommend). After you enter the shop, you can decide whether you want to do their basic package of gel nails + unlimited nail stickers or you can do their upgraded package to have unlimited charms and gems and sparkles. I recommend choosing their unlimited charm bar because they have so many cute items to decorate your nails with! The nail shop is a little different than your typical nail salon. Here, you'll choose your polish (they now have Japanese gel!) and then Kelly (the owner) will teach you how to apply the gel polish on yourself. That's right, it's all DIY but Kelly is a very good teacher. I don't like applying my own nail polish but I found the experience super easy with her guidance. Once you've decided on your nail colors, you can choose from a huge array of stickers or charms to decorate with. Depending on whether you're using the nail stickers or the charms will be a different process but both super simple. And since it's all gel polish, there's little wait time so you can enjoy your nails as soon as you're done! What a perfect way to start your vacation in Oahu! Oh, and the best part? It's BYOB so bring some bottles and your girlfriends and have an amazing time doing your nails together! Kelly plays music for you in the shop but you can request to connect your phone to the Bluetooth speaker and play your own jams!
