Reasonable rates and quick availability. Courteous movers. I'd recommend watching carefully how lighter colored furniture pieces are wrapped as there was an incident with dark marks on a chair. However, thankfully, management tried to get the stains out. I think more pieces could have been added to the truck. They also seemed to have some trouble with their engine and took time fiddling with it so I was surprised they added more time on the clock. Movers are also licensed. Other than that, I was generally pleased with the move. I would definitely recommend them. Scrutinize the move a little closely. read more

We moved yesterday Wednesday 23rd June 2021. We were booked for between 8am - 8.30am for them to arrive. Our movers SC MOVERS, David and Brain turned up just before 8am, so a litte before their due time. David and Brain worked non-stop from the time they arrived to the time they finished. They chatted to us along the way, which I loved and appreciated so did my adult daughter. Also they would answer any questions we had and helped make what to us was an exhausting day to our end of what has been an endless move , run smoother by them. Moving into our newly finished home was not going to be a breeze so I opted to hire movers instead.. Our heavy stuff (fridge, washer/dryer, bed including a temperpedic mattress that is horrible to move, dressers, and about 20 boxes full of household stuff) was on the second floor of a frustrating storage unit that has you enter a code in each time you need to use it. We got there at 830am and the moving truck was already there.. Good sign.. We get in and meet MIKE and BRANDAN. Mike asks the descriptive questions about our move, what equipment is needed and what the day will be like. I appreciate that aspect because we are setup for exactly what's needed and theres no miscommunication between vendor and customer. When I tell you these cats moved our stuff out of that storage within 1.5 hours and never actually stopped for more than 3 min for a water break or to just get a breather.. Its hard to believe. They both cracked some jokes, got to know us on a more than business aspect and made the move smooth.. We get to the house and our fridge is a wider than normal unit. Mike managed to get the front door off and back on faster than I've seen anyone in all honesty. They got our heavy appliances upstairs and all of our stuff moved in within 3.5 hours, for something that probably would have taken me all day to do. And all without a complaint. I appreciate someone who works hard, gets it done and doesnt damage any of my goods. I have no complaints about MIKE and BRANDAN and would definitely utilize their services again. And will have any friends do the same. Ill say, upon initially meeting them I didn't assume we would hit it off, but they were professional, and when the day was complete the handshakes that were given were with genuine gratuity. They are not cheap in the town, but they are the best. they will get the job done on time. We anticipated hiring them for 6 hours, but it ended up being 10 hours trip almost when all set and done. Compared to previous moving experiences, these guys were slow. Chatty chatty chatty. Slowww. The truck was also really small. Like a uhaul rental, not for moving a house. They couldn't take a lot. Our previous movers loaded and moved our entire packed up house in 3 hours. These guys moved like 1/4 of our packed up house in 5 hours. I felt bad because they had to move a heavy latex king bed, but I had given them thorough advance notice of this and the excessive weight and while they said it would be fine for 2 guys... it definitely was not fine. They nearly killed themselves. They also tore my bed in the process. My brand new $4000 bed. Despite being slow and sloppy, we tipped them as normal because of the difficult bed and figured it was worth it to not move it ourselves. We left the interactiong feeling kind of irked, but also feeling bad for them, and just agreeing we would choose another company next time. Now a month later, I am leaving this review because the icing on the cake is that they hooked up the hot and cold water on my clearly marked washing machine backward and now all of my cotton clothes have SHRUNK because they were washed in boiling hot water instead of cold. I'll never use this company again. I'll never recommend this company. Big let down. I wish I had just waited and gone with A Simple Way To Move. I'll save you a phone call. $110/hr for two movers and one truck. $140/hr for three movers and one truck. But get this, they charge you double for travel between houses and only in 15 minute increments! If it takes 2 minutes, they'll charge you for 30, if it takes 16 minutes, they'll charge you for 60. We're moving two blocks away and they want to charge me $70 to drive two blocks. She tried to convince me this was the fuel charge for driving to us from their warehouse, but then it should be calculated on the distance to my house not the distance between houses. It's just a shady way to tack on extra charges. No thanks, there are a lot of good movers in Sacramento. I'll go with someone else. read more

I have used this company twice now and recommend them to anyone looking to move. I got the two trucks; four guys this time (so worth it!!) and let me tell you it was the smoothest move I've ever done. I went from a two story home in Natomas to a single story back home in West Sacramento. It took roughly 3 hours to get all packed up (and I have a TON of stuff) and about 2 1/2 hours to unload. Brock, Horace, Jr, and Shaun were the nicest guys and were so careful with all of my stuff. You won't go wrong with them. We have several large and heavy pieces of antique furniture that they were able to move easily. Our new place also has a staircase with a tight turn at the landing, and they were able to navigate that with minimal issues. We experienced no damage to any of our furniture or on the walls. I would give this company zero stars if I could. I was moving out of my storage unit and noticed this company had two men moving a woman out of her storage unit. They were moving a ton of stuff and kept occupying the elevator to the point I could barely get myself in. They were not even in the elevator! When I politely asked how long they thought they needed they said about an hour. I explained I had someone coming in 30 min and would need to be able to get in and out of the elevator they kept occupying. One of the guys said "If you'd stop talking we could get done already". I told him that was very disrespectful and unprofessional. He didn't care. When I asked for his name he refused to provide it. Here's a photo for reference. I've now used SC Movers twice. The first time was about 18 months ago when I was moving all of my belongings into storage so I can save to buy a home. Brock and his associate, sorry to have forgotten his name, were very helpful. I wanted all of my large and damageable times shrink wrapped and they had no problem doing it. Everything was moved and in storage in well under the three hour time frame. They were both friendly and very professional. Fast forward to 10/07/16 when I was able to move into the house I purchased. I used SC Movers again and had Elvis and Mike help. They were both very helpful and friendly. They wrestled my heavy, one ton, mattress up my stairs to the room like pros. There was a bit of mess left behind due to the popcorn ceiling and Mike even offered to clean it up. I didn't have to lift a finger so figured that was the least I could do. Even though I don't plan on moving again for a while, I will recommend them every time I hear someone needing moving assistance. Fantastic company! read more

From the matching SC Movers t-shirts to the careful padding of the door frame at both my old and new place, these guys were total professionals. They were upbeat and worked hard all morning to move me from one top floor apartment to another (lots of stairs!). They also wrapped some of my furniture, suggested ways to consolidate loose stuff, and dissembled/reassembled my bed. Rachel, who handled the booking, was also very responsive. If you don't mind broken items and possible extra time charges, this may be just the place for you. I started out with high hopes. Upon calling, I was greeted by a very friendly and helpful woman that was able to answer all of my questions thoroughly, yet quickly. Then through some unexpected events I had to reschedule twice, which was handled with hassle-free professionalism. The excellent service up to this point is the ONLY reason they are still getting two stars from me. It was pretty much downhill from here. I had discussed the details of the move including the fact that we were leaving a 1600 square foot 3 bedroom home that was well stocked. (No, we are not hoarders, but we are certainly not minimalists either.) In addition, I told them (twice) up front that we also had some larger potted plants in the back yard that would also need to be moved. They arrived with a truck that was smaller than one that showed up when we moved out of our one bedroom apartment. They then proceeded to pad the doorway (OK, a couple points here too...) and then load the truck. They seemed to not be in much of a rush in loading anything. They also did not seem to be packing the truck with great efficiency (many open spaces within the packed items). It got to be about 4pm (when we were to be out by 6pm), and they notified us that it looked like there would not be enough room in the truck for everything. They could make a second run (fyi - driving time is charged double), or just pack as much in the truck as possible and we take care of the rest. I'm sorry... What?!? Since there was absolutely no way they would be able to drive, unload, return and load everything by the time we needed to be out.... (blood boiling at this point)... I told them to pack what they could and we'd figure out the rest. (I was ready to be done with them at this point.) So they just put a couple items in the large open space left in the truck and said, 'OK. All packed up.' (Aaaarg!!) It was only due to the assistance of a very generous neighbor that we were able to be out of the house in time for the buyers. He allowed us to store some things at his house, and also made a couple runs to our new place with his truck loaded.... Which he and I loaded of course. By the time they unloaded and placed things in the house, we had a broken dresser (that belonged to my great-grandparents) - and by some miracle (given the amount of things stacked on top of boxes marked "Fragile"), only a couple broken dishes. Their rates were pretty good.... I should know by now - you get what you pay for. Take my advice - pay more for better movers. read more

Buyer Beware... They damaged each piece of furniture that I identified as too expensive and heavy for me to move myself when I made the appointment and when the movers toured my house prior to starting to pack the truck. These guys recently helped me move from West Sacramento to Elk Grove. Not only did they not use appropriate equipment (e.g., moving straps to life my marble topped dresser until after they broke it) but they didn't even identify each item of furniture that they damaged prior to leaving my new home. Specifically, they broke off the corner of my Thomasville marble topped dresser by attempting to lift it by the stone. They broke off the end of my Thomasville Rivage Sleigh bed rail (which could have been easily fixed if they had admitted to it and looked for the piece--which they didn't, leaving me with the need for an expensive custom repair that will never look right). They scraped the leather and pulled out a seam on my custom lazy boy sleeper sofa. The leather was also scraped on my custom lazyboy leatherboy glider, whose handle also suffered rubbing damage. They also scraped my TV table set through the finish, took paint off one of my doors and scraped the wall heading up my stairs to the second floor (when they almost fell back down the stairs with the marble topped dresser)... and I am not positive that this is the total extent of the damage. When I emailed about the damaged, they wanted to inspect it, but rescheduled a few times and I ended up having to leave work to meet them at my home during the day. The person who came was apologetic (and our meeting was exceedingly brief), but I have since been told that they will not repair my furniture, nor pay for me to have it repaired. Nope, I have been promised 60 cents per pound on the damaged items. Not only has it been horribly difficult trying to find craftsman to repair the furniture, I have also had to spend countless hours with various manufacturers attempting to get a weight on the items they damaged, which were extremely heavy -- that is one of the reasons I didn't attempt to move them myself. What was supposed to be a simple move of less than 20 miles that I was paying for in order to accomplish convenience and peace of mind has been a total nightmare. read more
